Almost exactly two years have gone by since it was announced that the Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno, had signed on to star in the horror film The Hermit, a project that will see him taking on the role of a cannibalistic pig farmer who makes and sells jerky made of human flesh. Now, thanks to Variety, a couple images of Ferrigno’s character have made their way online, and you can check them out in this article!
Scatena & Rosner Films has acquired the worldwide rights to The Hermit, which is currently in post-production, and will be launching distribution sales at the Cannes Film Market.
Described as a “horror film with an undercurrent of quirky irony,” The Hermit was directed and produced by Salvatore Sclafani, who previously directed the 2019 Italian drama A Gifted Man (Il talento) and this year’s Dutch II: Angel’s Revenge, which is a sequel to the 2020 crime thriller Dutch.

When Marvel released The Avengers in 2012, it was viewed as a risky gamble. Although it is now relatively simple for the MCU to release a big movie starring a large cast of A-list actors, the studio set a new precedent with The Avengers. While the MCU has done well at replicating that success, no other studio seems to have come close.
Even with the film’s phenomenal success and intriguing financial flow, it is still surprising that most people are ignorant of certain facts about it. Did you know that Lou Ferrigno—the original Hulk (CBS’ The Incredible Hulk)—shadowed Mark Ruffalo in a crucial but unseen role in Joss Whedon’s 2012 flick?

Reactions to Hulk’s makeover as Professor Hulk in Avengers: Endgame were pretty divisive, to say the least, as many weren’t happy with how the Russo brothers handled everyone’s favorite green Brute. While in the earlier Avengers flicks, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk was an absolute beast, driven by his rage, seeing him become a shell of his former self rubbed many the wrong ways.
Considering the future of Hulk in the MCU remains uncertain for now, having Professor Hulk be the ultimate resolution for the character has once again caused fans to outburst.

When you hear the words “professional wrestler,” whose face comes to mind? “Well, let me tell you something, brother…” there may be no more iconic figure in the world of professional wrestling than Terrence Gene Bollea. But you may know him as Hulk Hogan.
So Wtf happened to Hulk Hogan? With a career that spans over 45 years, a lot. Let’s start at the beginning. But before we do, let’s keep in mind that the source of a lot of what follows is Bollea, himself. The complete record of Terry Bollea’s life is My Life Outside the Ring, his 2009 autobiography, which is more exhaustive than 2002’s Hollywood Hogan. In an industry stocked full of duplicitous people, Hulk Hogan’s long been considered to have perhaps the most strained relationship with the truth of any of them. But neither should we let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Marvel's first family has swooped in unexpectedly to wish the masses a happy Valentine's Day as part of Marvel Studios' official cast announcement for what is now being called "The Fantastic Four." As you can see from the first-look artwork, all your faves are present and accounted for. There's Reed Richards, the stretch-tastic Mister Fantastic himself (Pedro Pascal); his partner in science, life, and superheroing, Sue "The Invisible Woman" Storm (Vanessa Kirby); Sue's quite literally hot-headed younger brother Johnny (Joseph Quinn), aka The Human Torch; their gruff, street-wise pal Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach); and, of course, there's H.E.R.B.I.E., can't forget about him!
Wait, who?
Yes, if you found yourself wondering who the Johnny 5-like 'bot holding a cup on the "Fantastic Four" poster was, you're indubitably not alone. Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-type, Integrated Electronics or H.E.R.B.I.E. was...

Lou Ferrigno, star of the 1970s TV show The Incredible Hulk, accused his daughter of elder abuse by his wife and her mother, Carla Ferrigno.
Ferrigno, 71, has been married to Carla, 74, for 43 years.
Last month, it was confirmed that Carla has advanced dementia. In the announcement, Ferrigno’s spokesperson said, “She has severe memory impairment and psychosis and is no longer the same person who Lou knew for decades.”
Ferrigno claims that last month his daughter, Shanna Ferrigno, 42, and Carla’s sister, Pam Vog, drove Carla to the bank and tried to withdraw $500,000 in cash. When the bank withdrew the money, Ferrigno was alerted.
Lou claimed that Shanna, a fitness trainer, and Vog wanted to access Carla’s assets illegally and accused the two of financially exploiting his wife.
Ferrigno said that his daughter turned off the cameras in the rooms where Carla was and continually overruled Ferrigno with the caretakers.

Lou Ferrigno, the star of the 1970s TV series The Incredible Hulk, has accused his daughter, Shanna, of elder abuse against his wife, claiming she has taken advantage of her own mother, Carla, who has advanced dementia. According to The Blast, who obtained legal documents, the bodybuilder filed a restraining order against his daughter Shanna and her aunt Pam (Carla’s sister), alleging the two women have been “financially exploiting” his wife of 43 years. Matters reportedly came to a head when Shanna, with her aunt, allegedly drove her mom to a bank and attempted to withdraw $500,000 in cash – but they never got the money as the bank flagged the activity. “Carla was financially exploited into attempting to withdraw $500,000 even though she is medically determined unable to manage her affairs,” the legal documents claim. “She has been isolated from her husband Lou and has been unduly influenced into villainizing Lou and acting hostile towards Lou.

Even though the Hulk first starred in a TV series, he’s been featured in multiple classic and MCU movies since the 80s. We’ll cover the famously jacked Lou Ferrigno in his classic Hulk films and the more recent MCU Hulk movies in order.
Hulk, with his unparalleled might, which intriguingly amplifies with his escalating anger, has become one of the most celebrated and complex characters in the Marvel realm. His resilience, boundless strength, and the intriguing dichotomy of his existence as both the genius Dr. Bruce Banner and the colossal Hulk have rendered him a character of both empathic depth and exhilarating action.

Louis Leterrier has revealed plans for the scrapped sequel to his 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, which starred Edward Norton in the title role.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Leterrier shared that he had “a whole sequel” planned for the Marvel character that would have introduced other versions of the Hulk.
“There was like Grey Hulk, Red Hulks — there was a lot of good stuff that we were planning,” he told the website.
In subsequent films, Mark Ruffalo took on the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk starting with 2012’s The Avengers, and the storyline from the 2008 movie was not a part of the character’s arc. (Eric Bana also played the character in a 2003 film directed by Ang Lee, while Lou Ferrigno portrayed the Hulk and Bill Bixby was Bruce Banner in the CBS series, which aired from 1977 to 1982, and in several TV movies.)
The rights to the character are complicated.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe really gives us a novelty that took forever for comic book movies to fully embrace. The idea of superhero properties crossing over and building to a much wider world is something that’s in the DNA of the source material. Outside of the Lou Ferrigno Hulk rubbing elbows with half-realized versions of Thor and Daredevil, it’s something that we never truly got to see until Nick Fury stopped by Tony Stark’s house after the Iron Man credits. Before that, the closest thing we had was J. Jonah Jameson referencing the existence of Doctor Strange. Even their rivals at DC Comics couldn’t give us more than a Superman reference in Batman and Robin or a Batman and Robin reference in Steel.
But we did have some close calls over the decades. Some closer than others. Movies and sequels that would have brought together various...

Long ago, before the Marvel Cinematic Universe's gargantuan interconnecting list of films and Disney+ shows, there existed Universal Television's "The Incredible Hulk" series. Although it seems quaint in comparison to today's mega-budget superhero fare, Kenneth Johnson's science-fiction drama hybrid was a major ratings hit and was one of the earliest success stories regarding a live-action comic book adaptation. The popularity of the series, as well as the strange legal tension between Marvel Comics and its licensing partners, is why Stan Lee rushed to create a She-Hulk before Johnson could.
In the '70s, Marvel Comics had sold the rights to a handful of its characters to the separate company of Universal Television. Besides the Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Namor, and the Human Torch were also on the studio's bracket. Johnson, who had already found success with Universal's "The Bionic Woman," initially wasn't interested in adapting any of these...

Arnold Schwarzenegger's conquering of America truly is an unbelievable story. As comedian Bill Burr surmised in his 2012 standup special "You People Are All the Same," Arnie should be "unloading trucks in Transylvania [...] but because he's a great man, he had the balls to move to America and became famous for lifting weights." Schwarzenegger did indeed go from driving tanks in the Austrian army to becoming arguably the greatest bodybuilder of all time, winning the Mr. Olympia title seven times. But he also became one of the biggest actors in Hollywood, and arguably the most popular action star in history, all while simultaneously carrying family-friendly comedy fare such as "Kindergarten Cop" and "Jingle All The Way" — one of the best Christmas movies of all time. Oh, and he also found time to marry into the Kennedy family and become the governor of California.
The Governator didn't get where he is without being highly competitive.

Films and television shows based on comic books are ubiquitous nowadays. In the 1970s, however, superhero fare wasn't exactly the drama mine it is now. We had the light and entertaining "Wonder Woman" TV series with Lynda Carter, and the campy and comedic "Batman" series with Adam West was in the rearview mirror. Comics were still mostly for kids, and we were years away from seeing Michael Keaton dramatically don the Batsuit. The genre wasn't taken particularly seriously.
In the mid-1970s, Universal got the rights to some of Stan Lee's Marvel comic book characters, including the Hulk. Though the resulting TV series "The Incredible Hulk" produced a two-hour pilot and had five subsequent seasons, not everyone was on board with the idea of a show about a man who gets mad and turns into a hulking green dude. Series writer, producer, and creator Kenneth Johnson wasn't interested at all at first,...

Mark Ruffalo gets it easy. The guy dons a "really tight leotard" and paints a few dots on his face and then, through the power of magic and an overworked special effects team, he becomes the Hulk. Okay, so maybe it isn't necessarily an easy process for everyone. The point is, a lot of the heavy lifting is done after principal photography is over and Ruffalo is back home eating tacos.
That wasn't always the case, though. Way back in 1977, before the age of CGI, Lou Ferrigno was cast to portray the Incredible Hulk. Not Bruce Banner, the scientist who decided that a gamma radiation bath would shake up his monotonous lab hours, mind you, just his more aggressive alter ego. As a bodybuilder, Ferrigno possessed the bulk, it was just that signature color scheme that he lacked. So, the makeup department did what you had to back then --...

The Incredible Hulk, created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee in 1962, is a character born more from universal monster movies and 1950s sci-fi than more modern notions of complex, interlaced comic book lore. In the original comic books, a spindly physicist named Bruce Banner was exposed to a strange type of radiation while saving a soldier from a nuclear bomb test. Rather than killing him, the radiation mutated his body into that of a bulky, over-muscled brute. He eventually shrunk back to his normal size, but Bruce eventually found that whenever he got angry, he would transform back into an unstoppable radioactive ogre. Indeed, he was so angry, he couldn't speak or think clearly.

Once the Bruno of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Louis Leterrier's "The Incredible Hulk" has seen its reputation slowly rehabilitated in recent years. The 2008 film remains the first and only movie to feature Edward Norton as wayward scientist Bruce Banner, as well as The Other Guy's lone solo outing in the MCU under the terms of Marvel Studios' complicated deal with Universal for the Hulk screen rights. 14 years later, it remains the McU's lowest-grossing release at the box office, though it no longer holds the worst critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Progress!
Norton's creative clashes with Marvel Studios infamously led to them parting ways after "The Incredible Hulk," with Mark Ruffalo taking over the titular role starting in 2012's "The Avengers." That and the movie's middling financial performance a mere month after "Iron Man" rocked the scene were all the reasons the House of Ideas needed to ignore Leterrier's Hulk adventure for years.

The secret weapon of any superhero story is its characters. Audiences are more invested in Peter Parker than his powers, and are more excited to see a beloved character faithfully realized on screen than any action scene or plot twist. It's little wonder, then, that superhero films and TV shows are flooded with cameos. They're a lightning-fast infusion of character. Sometimes, these cameos are ways to expand the world of a movie. At others, they provide some fan service, or get the audience's blood pumping. But when they're thrilling, well-considered, and hysterically funny? That's the sweet spot.
The funniest cameos in superhero media combine genuine shocks with intelligent storytelling. Yes, they're the source of jokes. Yes, they're sometimes outrageous. The best ones, though, find a way to make these surprise cameos feel organic to the larger world in which the film or show takes place. No matter the scenario, these...

Disney+’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law kicked off its season finale with a cold open that uncannily recreated the opening credits for TV’s The Incredible Hulk, which ran for five seasons on CBS and starred Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.
Part of the reason the homage was so retro-perfect was because actual elements from the original series were incorporated into the filmmaking process.

This article contains She-Hulk finale spoilers
The green gloves were off in the She-Hulk finale, and after nine episodes of toxic masculinity, twerking with Megan Thee Stallion, and a lot of waiting for Charlie Cox’s Daredevil to arrive, it all culminated in this. October 13’s “Whose Show Is This?” delivered some of the wildest scenes to grace the MCU, but when we weren’t busy breaking the already broken fourth wall, we were canonizing forgotten Hulks.
It’s easy to forget that there have been a lot of actors who’ve played the mean, green, fighting machine. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe alone, there’s been Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk, who replaced Edward Norton’s brief stint from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk movie. Eric Bana starred in 2003’s Hulk before the MCU, but going back even further, we had the legends of Bill Bixby and...

Major spoilers ahead for "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law."
"She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" finally did what some of us have been waiting for since the series was first announced: We got our nod to the 1970s "The Incredible Hulk" TV series! In a finale that stuck the landing in a way that many Marvel Disney+ shows haven't been able to manage, this was an extra treat!
I have only the vaguest memories of the 1970s show, other than loving it as a tiny person and thinking that star Bill Bixby was just the coolest. However, I definitely remember the opening sequence for the show, which had its two-hour TV movie premiere in 1977 and ran for 80 episodes beginning in 1978. It had a sort of sad tone, following Bill Bixby's Dr. David Banner, who had been researching how people get superhuman abilities sometimes when they're under great duress. An accident occurs, and he...

Photo: ‘Hulk’ Taking Spider-Man out of the equation, the most easily recognizable character in Marvel Comics is the Hulk. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962, the character skyrocketed in popularity, due to being a very different kind of superhero. He’s a scientist who turns into a big, green (originally gray), monster. There have been a few on-screen adaptations of the character, most notably ‘The Incredible Hulk’ TV series starring Lou Ferrigno and Ang Lee’s ‘Hulk’ film in 2003 starring Eric Bana. The character made his debut in what is now the gargantuan Marvel Cinematic Universe with 2008’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’ starring Edward Norton. The character has since been recast in the MCU with Mark Ruffalo and has appeared in supporting roles throughout multiple films. Returning after a Covid-enforced absence, the San Diego convention will be a joyous celebration, even if the movie hype machine is firmly in overdrive
The days when San Diego’s Comic-Con was the only place to go if you wanted to predict your geek viewing future are long gone. Disney has its own D23 and Star Wars Celebration conventions, while there are myriad other industry events such as Las Vegas’s CinemaCon. And yet the original Comic-Con, which returns this weekend after a Covid-enforced absence, remains the ultimate fandom boiler room, a place where audiences and the objects of their rapt attention seem to be on a level playing field for at least one weekend.

"Avengers: Endgame" might be the most ambitious crossover of all time, but it did lack one important aspect of Marvel's on-screen history; their low-budget television shows that aired between the '70s and '90s. Perhaps the most famous show from this era was "The Incredible Hulk," which ran on CBS from 1978 to 1982. Starring Bill Bixby as Dr. David Banner and Lou Ferrigno as the titular gamma-radiating monster, the show centered around Banner as he traveled around the United States, helping those in need despite his dangerous secret. Even though Marvel Comics as an entity was not...

With Disney already deep into post-production on a live-action retread of “The Little Mermaid,” and currently filming a controversial “Snow White” remake starring “West Side Story” star Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, the Mouse House isn’t slowing down. It was announced yesterday that British director Guy Ritchie will helm an upcoming live-action redo of the 1997 Disney animated feature, “Hercules.”
Disney’s “Hercules” tells the story of the eponymous character (voiced in the original by Tate Donovan) and Greek god. Living among mortals, Hercules becomes determined to reclaim his god-like status, becoming a quasi-celebrity in the process. Along the way he falls in love with the acerbic Meg (voiced by Susan Egan) and must defeat Hades (voiced by James Woods), the God of the Underworld.
Ritchie has brought success to Disney with a live-action remake before. He directed the 2019 reboot of “Aladdin,” starring Will Smith. The feature would go on...

Lou Ferrigno is set to play a murderous, cannibalistic pig farmer known as “The Hermit” in U.S.-based Italian director Salvatore Sclafani’s chiller of the same title that will mark Ferrigno’s first role playing a creature since CBS TV series “The Incredible Hulk.”
Shooting is set to start in August in Syracuse, N.Y., on the horror film with an undercurrent of fun and quirky irony that will see Ferrigno making and selling jerky made of human flesh.
“Most people are surprised that I’ve never really entered the horror space before now,” Ferrigno said in a statement for Variety. “When I was a kid I was fascinated with the monsters of the time like Dracula and Frankenstein.

Once upon a time, back when Lou Ferrigno’s Incredible Hulk was the big thing on TV – “the rage,” you might say – Marvel Comics was starting to sweat because there was a chance that the show was going to eventually introduce a female counterpart to the main character. If some kind of “She-Hulk” was introduced on the show or a spinoff movie, then she would be CBS’s property. Marvel was so desperate for ownership of “Hulk, but woman” that Stan Lee and John Buscema put together Savage She-Hulk #1 in 1980.
How funny it is that decades later, Marvel is introducing She-Hulk to the Marvel Cinematic Universe via a TV show? She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be coming out this August with nine episodes and, looking at the trailer, it gives us a comedic, albeit down-to-earth look at what society is in the MCU.
So who do we have breaking through...

It’s kind of easy to agree with Kevin Burwick of Movie Web when it comes to the idea that the McU has kind of softened the edge of the Hulk, and it’s even understandable that Lou Ferrigno has made his opinion known about it. But when it comes to not being able to take Mark Ruffalo seriously it would seem that Ferrigno has ruffled a few feathers in the McU. To be fair to both sides of this argument the character has been changed throughout the years, and not always for the better. Eric Bana, despite being a good actor,

As you all know, Lou Ferrigno played The Hulk in the classic 1978 series The Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby, who portrayed Dr. David Banner. I loved that show! I watched it all the time as a kid! It’s a show I should revisit again soon because it’s been a very, very long time since I’ve watched it.
Anyway, for those of you who might have wondered what Ferrigno thinks of Mark Ruffalo’s version of The Hulk, he recently shared his thoughts at Montreal Comic Con where he revealed that he can’t take Ruffalo’s version of The Hulk/Bruce Banner seriously. He’s just not a fan of how Marvel Studios is treating the character:
“Mark is a wonderful actor. But we’ve had three different actors — we’ve had Eric Bana, Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo. I like Bill Bixby the best, I like Edward Norton.

Looks like there might be a Hulk v Hulk fight brewing, but they’re both green. The star of the original Incredible Hulk television show, Lou Ferrigno, says that not only is Bill Bixby still his favorite, but that he also can’t take Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk seriously. Shots fired!
In all honesty, I seriously doubt any of his comments were meant to start a fight. Ferrigno, despite being a large enough man to portray the Hulk with only purple shorts and green makeup, seems to be a big ol teddy bear.
At the Montreal Comic-Con earlier this month, he said the following about not only Ruffalo, but all the other actors to Hulk-out onscreen:
“Mark is a wonderful actor. But we’ve had three different actors; we’ve had Eric Bana, Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo. I like Bill Bixby the best, I like Edward Norton. But Ruffalo…...

This week’s question: What is your favorite monster/creature of all time on TV?
April Neale (@aprilmac), Monsters & Critics
A tie for me, between “The Terror” (Season 1 on AMC) the Tuunbaq, which was a larger, toothier, freakishly lankier version of a polar bear crossed with a space alien sporting enormous claws and teeth. We met this monster in last summer’s breakout series, this lightning-fast terror within “The Terror” that was stalking, hunting and brutally killing the crew of the Hms Erebus and Hms Terror. It was a classic “and then there were none” scenario. The spiritual beast sported sci-fi elements and human-like hands and parts of its face adding to the creepy effect. Stan Lee. Where do you even start? Seriously.
Growing up as a kid in the 1970s, Stan Lee’s name was in every Marvel comic book I pulled off the Spinner Rack. “Stan Lee Presents…” was at the forefront of every dynamic splash page that opened any Marvel publication. He was a larger-than-life presence, his image drawn into the actual comics, and at times, as a caricature illustrated atop the masthead of his popular “Stan’s Soapbox,” where he wrote about a wide variety of topics outside of comics. Regularly featured in the back pages, Stan’s Soapbox exposed us to his unique voice and personality, inviting us into his personal views on everything from bigotry to racial division. Simply put, he was the personality behind it all. Stan Lee was Marvel Comics. Period.

Stan Lee was a God to fans of comic books and superhero movies around the world, and many viewed Lee’s short-but-sweet cameos as the best parts of Marvel films. As a tribute to the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics, who died at age 95 on Monday, we’ve compiled a list of all his cameos in the Marvel universe.
“The Trial of the Incredible Hulk” (1989)
Lee made his first cameo nearly 30 years ago in the TV movie, as a jury member in “David” Banner’s (Hulk’s alter-ego) imagined trial.
“X-Men” (2000)
Stan Lee’s feature film cameo (unfortunately his “Blade” appearance was left on the cutting room floor) was in the premiere “X-Men” flick. Fans spotted him selling hot dogs on the beach while the recently transformed Senator Kelly emerges from the waves.
“Spider-Man” (2002)
When the Green Goblin causes an explosion, Lee was the bystander who shields a young girl from debris.

James Wan will executive produce a Swamp Thing TV series on the DC Universe streaming service. Here's everything you need to know.
You know what I didn't even know I really wanted until it arrived in my inbox? A Swamp Thing live-action TV series that boasts James Wan as one of its executive producers. And yes, we're getting a Swamp Thing TV series on the DC Universe streaming service.
This is far from Swamp Thing's first foray into live-action. Wes Craven's 1982 Swamp Thing movie is a legit cult classic, although its sequel, Return of the Swamp Thing, is less so. There was a syndicated TV series that starred big screen Swampy Dick Durock that ran for three seasons. It's better than you've heard. The short-lived animated series, on the other hand, is not. Something tells me that whatever DC Universe is cooking up will be better.

Only two weeks have passed since Marvel welcomed the arrival of the first Avengers: Infinity War teaser and already, Joe and Anthony Russo’s starry tentpole has racked up a staggering 100 million views on YouTube.
That number continues to climb at an exponential rate, so it’s small wonder why Infinity War now holds the title as the most-watched trailer debut of all time within 24 hours. But YouTube content creator and all-around video wizard Darth Blender has produced a decidedly different take on the Avengers: Infinity War trailer.
Much like Darth Blender’s videos for Justice League, Injustice II and Spider-Man: Homecoming, this latest sizzle reel (see below) gives Infinity War the retro treatment, and is edited in such a way that Reb Brown and Burt Reynolds take point as Iron Man and Captain America.
With Thanos’ arrival imminent, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes begin to fall into place, including Lou Ferrigno’s Hulk,...

I know a lot of you are excited about Avengers: Infinity War, so while we wait for it to be released, which seems like a lifetime away, we have a great retro mashup trailer for you to watch! It comes from Darth Blender and it features a mashup of footage from several classic superhero films that were made in the 80s and 90s. I'm sure you'll remember some of these if you were up to speed with what Marvel was doing during this era. Below the video, you'll find a list of all the films that were used and all the characters that the actors are meant to play.
I love that Chuck Norris in The Punisher! It also features Burt Reynolds as Iron Man, David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Winter Soldier, Dennis Quaid as Star-Lord, Eddie Murphy as Falcon and more!
