A group of Florida teenagers joked and laughed while they filmed a 31-year-old man as he drowned last week only a few feet away from them, People confirms.
As the man, Jamel Dunn, appeared to struggle in the middle of the pond before going under, the teens — whom police said were all between 14 and 18 — cursed, jeered and mocked him from the shore, calling him a “junkie” and wondering if he was drunk.
Only one of them voiced concerns about getting help. But authorities say none of them did.

“Spotlight” distributor Open Road has issued a new statement in response to Jack Dunn, the Boston College High School board of trustees member who said the film did not accurately portray him and his meeting with Boston Globe staffers investigating pedophile priests. “As is the case with most movies based on historical events, ‘Spotlight’ contains fictionalized dialogue that was attributed to Mr. Dunn for dramatic effect. We acknowledge that Mr. Dunn was not part of the Archdiocesan cover-up. It is clear from his efforts on behalf of the victims at BC High that he and the filmmakers share a deep,...

"Sesame Street" is moving to a swankier neighborhood, trading in public access for premium cable in a new partnership that will see all new episodes of the classic kids show air first on HBO, before airing as reruns on current home PBS.
The New York Times reports that the move was a necessary one for Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit that produces the show, since revenues from the series's main source of income, DVD sales, has declined steadily in the age of streaming and on-demand viewing. (Only about one-third of total "Sesame" viewers actually watch the show on PBS, versus other streaming/on-demand outlets, according to Nyt.) Under the terms of the new deal, HBO will air new episodes of the next five seasons of "Sesame Street" on its namesake channel, HBO Go, HBO On Demand, and the HBO Now app; after nine months, the episodes will be made available for free as reruns on PBS.

Washington, Nov 1: A study has found that parents who prioritize their children's well-being over their own are not only happier, but also derive more meaning in life from their child-rearing responsibilities.
"These findings stand in contrast to claims in the popular media that prioritizing children's well-being undermines parents' well-being," the researchers wrote.
Researchers Claire E. Ashton-James, Kostadin Kushlev and Elizabeth W. Dunn conducted two studies with a total of 322 parents.
In Study 1, parents were asked to complete a child-centrism scale to measure their parenting style and were then given a survey to measure the happiness and meaning in life that they experienced from having children by responding.

"Dismissed With Prejudice" marks the first time I haven't felt Major Crimes took its new dynamic and knocked it out of the park. It's a shame, really, because it was Tao's turn in the spotlight and it didn't turn out at all like I was expecting.
So, let's start with the lighter fare and chat about Rusty...
Rusty going out with Mr. Dunn, his biological father, allowed for another fun exchange with the squad. Provenza and Buzz giving him advice on meeting him was so sweet. I realize it's borderline ridiculous how quickly everyone has taken to Rusty, but it works. Nobody expected it to, and admittedly many of us are probably still expecting it to blow up in our faces, but all signs point to that ship leaving the harbor. Rusty's a keeper.
Rusty's dad was trying so hard to make a connection. I really hope he doesn't turn...

Mila Kunis said she's been terrified of Stuart Lynn Dunn for some time now. That's what detectives testified to, at least, at a preliminary hearing today to determine whether Dunn should stand trial on felony stalking charges. After hearing what both sides had to say, the judge set Dunn's arraignment for June 27 and ordered him to stand trial. Kunis was "scared of Mr. Dunn" and "in fear for her safety," Lapd Detective John Gregozek, who interviewed the Ted star twice, testified. Gregozek quoted Kunis as telling him that Dunn had "crazy eyes" and looked like he "could eat" her. Kunis was "110 percent in fear of her safety," the detective...

Rapper G. Dep, a.k.a. Trevell Coleman, has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison after being convicted of a shooting from 1993 that left John Henkel dead. But the circumstances surrounding the case are anything but ordinary.
Coleman walked into the 23rd precinct police station in December 2010 and confessed to the crime. He told Detective William Dunn that when he was about 17 to 19 years old, he'd shot someone while trying to rob him on a street corner and fled, throwing the gun into the East River. Det. Dunn matched Coleman's account to a cold case and arrested him.
A police source at the time told the New York Post that the crime had been "eating away at" Coleman and that he had wanted to get right with God about it.
But things took a bizarre twist when Coleman decided to take the case to trial. He was unhappy with the plea negotiations,...

Private equity firm Apax Funds wanted former Nickelodeon exec Jeffrey Dunn and corporate finance specialist Sangeeta Desai to turn around the UK-based children’s entertainment company behind Thomas & Friends, Barney, Bob The Builder, and Angelina Ballerina. They accomplished that goal in October when Mattel agreed to pay $680M for Hit. Here’s the company’s release: Monday, 30 January. London: Hit Entertainment, one of the world’s leading independent children’s entertainment producers and rights-owners, today announced that the company’s President & CEO, Jeffrey Dunn, and Chief Operating Officer, Sangeeta Desai, will be leaving the company after the closing of Hit’s acquisition by Mattel. Mr. Dunn, who has been leading the company since March 2008, when he was appointed by current owner Apax Funds and tasked with restoring the business and preparing it for future sale, will exit immediately following the closing of the acquisition. Ms. Desai, who became Hit’s...

This is sad. I was just watching "Jackass 3.5" last night, and I woke up to this horrible news. "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn died early Monday morning in a car crash. He was 34.
According to reports, Dunn and another passenger died at 2:30 in the morning in West Goshen, Pennsylvania. The police report revealed that Dunn, driving a 2007 Porsche 911 GT3, slammed into a tree. (Read the press release from West Goshen Police Department right here via Hollywood Reporter)
Hours before the crash, Dunn posted a photo of himself drinking. (Check out the picture right here)
I had the privilege of meeting Dunn last year for the "Jackass 3D" junket. He was very sweet in person -- which makes this horrible news of his death much sadder :sad
Farewell Mr. Dunn, thanks for the laughs!

Former Bad Boy Mc G. Dep admitted this week to fatally shooting a man nearly 20 years ago.
The New York Post reports that on Wednesday, the 36-year-old rapper, born Trevell Coleman, walked into the 25th precinct in Harlem and confessed to killing a man way back in 1993.
"I shot and killed someone 17 years ago," he reportedly told an officer at the precinct.
According to the Post report, Dep told police that he was riding a bike when he approached his victim, 32-year-old John Henkel, on Park Avenue and East 114th street near the James Weldon Johnson housing projects. Dep, just 18 years old at the time, was planning to rob Henkel, but when he resisted, shot him three times in the chest with a .40-caliber hand gun. He...
