- Skeletal American character actor, usually found in "B" westerns playing Mexicans, Indians, assorted baddies or townsfolk. He was a close friend of cowboy star Bob Steele. Dwire apparently began his career in stock theater with Oliver Morosco.
- Prior to his death at in the Los Angeles Veterans Hospital, he lived at the Military Veterans Home in Los Angeles.
- In World War One, Earl Dean Dwire served as a Private, in the United States Army, with the 343rd Battalion, Tank Corps, "The Legion".
- In most of his westerns, his hair and mustache were dyed black.
