- Jean Lanier was born on August 2, 1913 in Saint-Ouen, Seine-Saint-Denis, France. He was an actor, known for Queen Margot (1954), L'entourloupe (1980) and Last Year at Marienbad (1961). He died on April 9, 1999 in Paris, France.
- Imprisoned in a German POW camp in WWII, along with composer Olivier Messaien, where he played violin at the first performance of Messaien's "Quartet for the End of Time".
