- English production designer, trained at the Royal College of Art. He was head of painting at the Leeds College and Camberwell School of Art. He worked in TV advertising from 1955 to 1965. A chance meeting with the director Joseph Losey prompted him to undertake film work from the mid-1960's. His paintings have been exhibited at galleries in London and Los Angeles.
- He worked as production designer on most of Joseph Losey's British films of the 1950s and 60s, but was at first either uncredited or given some nebulous title such as "design consultant" because he was not a member of the appropriate trade union. His first actual design credit was for "Eve" in 1962.
