It has been more than a decade since we got one of the most disturbing episodes in any TV show, the Red Wedding. The event shown in Season 3 Episode 9 titled The Rains of Castamere continues to haunt Game of Thrones fans to date. But George R.R. Martin loved a major aspect that made the episode more significant in the history of television.
The iconic Red Wedding scene in Game of Thrones | HBO
One of the most striking elements of the Red Wedding was its shock value. Initially, this shock value was at risk as George R.R. Martin’s readers already knew the inevitable. But the author was surprised how none of the readers spoiled the fun. Instead, they got together in a worldwide trend to show how their close ones were affected by the scene.

Superheroes have always been among us: their job is to rush to the rescue in emergency situations, risking their own lives.
Although projects about firefighters, paramedics and rescuers are quite popular, there are not that many of them — here we have collected nine of the best that will bring you both tears and laughter.
1. The Smoke, 2014
The leader of the White Watch firefighters team is Kev. He is a good man who has been dedicated to his heroic profession since he was 18 years old. One day, his life was ruined by the negligence and deceit of his boss. Kev barely survived a terrible fire that left him with burns all over his body. But despite the tragedy, the man found the strength to return to work and continue saving lives.
The Smoke is a realistic series about the work of firefighters: how hard, painful and scary it is to save people.

It's no surprise that there isn't a single war movie that's easy to watch. Still, these films are usually adored by both critics and audiences.
First, they require a great deal of technical skill to make. Second, the amount of thought that goes into the set and costume design cannot go unnoticed. And third, the actors tend to shine the brightest in the face of dramatic dialogue and heartbreaking scenes, and there is no shortage of those when it comes to war.
If you're craving a good war movie, but don't have anything specific in mind, Netflix is ready to help with a new addition to its library.
Is 1917 Worth Watching?
Unlike many war movies, 1917 takes viewers back to World War I, not a few decades later. This alone sets 1917 apart from many other films in the genre, giving it a unique setting and rare insight into the events.

From Whitney Houston to Elvis, there is no shortage of iconic singers who inspire sweeping films that dramatize their life stories. No matter the genre, cinematic features have captured the careers of the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley to country singer Jonny Cash. Most recently, Back to Black (2024) launched in theaters to capture the life and musical career of Amy Winehouse.
Still other films in the works will add to the canon of singer biography movies, like Timothée Chalamet’s upcoming portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown and nephew to Jaafar Jackson’s portrayal of his uncle the late Michael Jackson in Michael.

Despite Kevin Feigeʼs tireless efforts to keep the cogs of the megalomaniacal Marvel universe running, some of the products like the star-studded Eternals come out a bit worse for the wear and bear the brunt of the fans who remain dejected with the performance of the Phase Four era.
The quality of projects originating in the post-Endgame saga of the MCU have performed categorically worse in the recent past. Regardless, not many original projects coming out of that Phase have received the sequel treatment.

Moreover, the studioʼs stagnating state of work neither shows improvement nor the desire to achieve it, making it difficult to accept Marvelʼs decision regarding a Phase Four film sequel.

Marvel Studios’ Eternals had quite the potential to be the next big ensemble hero-featured hit franchise of its own. But the failure of the movie altered the wind of it in a different direction. The box office failure of the 2021 movie was not the only factor to the potential end; or at least, the blurry future of the movie; the dismay among critics also mattered to a great extent.

But the movie has a lot to celebrate, including the cast. Hollywood veteran Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and several other stars graced the movie. But in one aspect, the movie surpasses almost every other Marvel movie released to date. House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel series that debuted on HBO and Max in 2022 and is returning soon, focuses on House Targaryen, generations before the events of the original Game of Thrones series.
They are, of course, the ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), one of the main characters on Game of Thrones, whose series-long plot was about wanting to recapture her family's throne.
While House of the Dragon focuses on that particular family, we did get occasional glimpses of other familiar houses in the first season of that show, including the Baratheons. Also, there are fleeting mentions of Houses such as Arryn and Stark.
While the members of House Stark were among the most important characters throughout Game of Thrones, none of the Starks were major characters In the first season of House of the Dragon.

Kit Harington Reveals Searching For Negative Roles After Game Of Thrones ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
The Game of Thrones star Kit Harington shaded his good guy persona in his latest film, Blood for Dust. He had a white character in the HBO series and the Marvel movie Eternals, but the actor reportedly got bored of playing the hero and wanted to be a bad guy. But why was he done being a hero on screen? Keep scrolling to know more.
Kit became famous after appearing as Jon Snow in the HBO series based on George Rr Martin’s books. He was part of the main cast and one of the leading actors. By the end, he was romantically paired opposite Emilia Clarke, who made her MCU debut last year with Disney+’s Secret Invasion. Kit made his MCU debut with 2021’s Eternals, in which he played the role of Dane Whitman.

Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel was the first step in Zack Snyder’s vision for the Dcu. The director brought it a unique and tonally dark film exploring Clark Kent’s evolution into becoming more human and his past catching up to haunt him. The dark and somber tone of the film left fans divided although Cavill’s impressive performance as Superman was praised.

Upon its release, Chloé Zhao’s Eternals made history by becoming the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to have received a Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, the film sits at a meager rating of 47%. However, having given a 77% score, the audience clearly does not agree with the critics and believes that the film was not really as bad as they are saying. Many fans would agree that while Eternals was not one of the MCU’s greatest works, it still was an entertaining one-time watch, at least.

It looks as though Eternals 2 is a victim of the Marvel Studios’ ‘make fewer but make them better’ mantra, as reports circulate that the sequel has been scrapped.
This might not be surprising news, but Hollywood scooper Daniel Rpk is reporting that Marvel Studios has abandoned development on a sequel to 2021’s Eternals. A sequel to the film was never officially announced or even publicly discussed, but it’s not surprising that the studio had plans to bring the characters back for another adventure at some point, despite the original film underperforming both critically and commercially.
Eternals was directed by Chloe Zhao, whose profile rose considerably following her acclaimed debut feature, Nomadland. Her superhero film also featured a raft of acting talent including Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani and Barry Keoghan. The final film didn’t hang together well, however, and was met with poor reviews.

When ‘Eternals’ hit theaters, it signaled a shift in the MCU’s direction. Despite mixed reviews and disappointing box office numbers, it was praised for its ambition, even though some found its storyline confusing with unused elements. Some viewers enjoyed its blend of cosmic and mythological themes, while others felt it missed the mark. Nonetheless, talks of a sequel emerged, especially with rumors of “Eternals 2” and Richard Madden’s return as Ikaris.
However, recent developments suggest otherwise. With “The Marvels” underperforming and Disney prioritizing quality over quantity, fewer projects are expected. As a result, “Eternals 2” is reportedly scrapped, with Feige keen on the project but Iger concerned about its potential reception. It appears Disney is shifting focus towards animated content, with “Deadpool & Wolverine” being the sole 2024 release and fewer live-action shows in the pipeline.

Upon its release, ‘Eternals’ marked the change of direction in the MCU, and despite the movie receiving mixed reviews and bombing at the box office, it was often described as ambitious and sometimes incoherent due to many elements introduced, which were subsequently never used again.

2021’s Eternals introduced audiences to a new team of heroes in the MCU. The film boasted a fantastic ensemble cast led by Gemma Chan and Richard Madden. Being helmed by an Oscar-winning director, Chloe Zhao, one expected that the film was going to be one of the best in the franchise, especially with Kevin Feige doubling down on his belief in its quality.

Konami tried something new to inject new blood (no pun intended) into the Castlevania series with 2011’s Lords of Shadow, a new series that completely disregarded the established timeline. The result gave fans a cinematic platformer that dipped into the God of War series with its combat (for good and bad), but ultimately lacked that “something” for many that made it a Castlevania game. With Lords of Shadow 2, those hoping that things would get better were ultimately disappointed. It also didn’t help that reports after the game’s release illustrated Lords of Shadow 2‘s troubled development. But with 10 years now gone by, is that disappointment also lessened?
After the events of Lords of Shadow, where protagonist Gabriel Belmont (Robert Carlyle) becomes the vampire known as Dracula, Lords of Shadow 2 sees Gabriel awaken 1000 years after an encounter with his son, Alucard (Richard Madden), weakened and with no memory of why...

Eternals 2: ‘Eros’ Harry Styles & Others Will Go Up Against A Variant Of Thanos, Claims A Report (Picture Credit: Facebook & IMDb)
Chloe Zhao directed Eternals had an ensemble cast, but it failed to impress the fans like other MCU movies. The first part came out in 2021, and it has been almost three years. A social media report has shared a new update on Eternals 2. The first film featured Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Barry Keoghan and others. It also introduced Harry Styles as Eros, Thanos’s brother.
The MCU introduced the Eternals and explained, despite being such powerful beings, why they did not interfere when Thanos invaded Earth or the other bad things that happened over the centuries. The Celestials created them, and their primary enemies are the Deviants. The fictional race of humanoids was created by Jack Kirby in 1976. Keep scrolling for more.

An 'Eternals' TV show was originally in the works before the movie was made.John Ridley was hired in 2015 to develop a mystery Marvel project for ABC but the show never came to fruition and the '12 Years a Slave' screenwriter has now confirmed he was developing a series based on the immortal alien beings and he believes it would have been better than Chloe Zhao's 2021 movie, which starred the likes of Angelina Jolie, SalmaHayek, Richard Madden and Gemma Chan.Speaking on the 'Comic Book Club' podcast, John said: “It’s not in the works anymore. It was a television version of ‘The Eternals’… But good. "My version was the good version. It was so weird. There was my version, a good version, which is good to me, which — that doesn’t mean anything. The Marvel Cinematic Universe hit what was viewed as something of a stumbling block with the release of Eternals in 2021.
Starring the likes of Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, the movie was not the sort of overwhelming blockbuster success that many other movies have been for the MCU.
Two years after the movie’s release, any plans for a sequel have been seemingly tabled for the moment. However, we are now learning about a different version of the story that almost made it to our TV screens.

News broke in 2015 that John Ridley, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of “12 Years of Slave,” was joining the Marvel family to develop a mystery superhero project for ABC. The network was already home to Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” at the time, and a spinoff series had just been announced prior to the Ridley news. Ridley was already a favorite at the network thanks to the acclaim for his anthology series “American Crime.” Suffice to say, Ridley’s Marvel project never happened.
Flash forward eight years, and Ridley finally revealed on the “Comic Book Club” podcast that he was developing an “Eternals” television series for Marvel long before the studio decided to make an “Eternals” movie with director Chloé Zhao and a cast that included Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Barry Keoghan, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie and more.

Upon its release, ‘Eternals’ marked the change of direction in the MCU, and despite the movie receiving mixed reviews and bombing at the box office, it was often described as ambitious and sometimes incoherent due to many elements introduced, which were subsequently never used again.
Some viewers considered the movie a breath of fresh air and appreciated the themes that mixed cosmic themes with mythologies, but some felt that the movie didn’t quite hit the mark. Still, it seems that ‘Eternals’ was ambitious enough to warrant itself a sequel. Nothing has been confirmed so far, but a source of reliable scoops and leaks, Daniel Richtman, claimed that the sequel to the movie is in early development.

Marvel’s latest move in shaping its cinematic future has caught the attention of fans worldwide. The studio has officially withdrawn trademarks for several projects, including ‘Timeless Saga,’ ‘Eternity Saga,’ ‘Nomad,’ and ‘Runaways: New Era.’ However, the ‘Avengers: Eternity Wars’ trademark remains active, hinting at Marvel’s focus for upcoming releases.
The withdrawn trademarks suggest a refining of Marvel’s strategy. ‘Timeless Saga’ and ‘Eternity Saga’ seemed like potential titles before the studio settled on ‘The Multiverse Saga’. Their withdrawal might indicate a shift in Marvel’s narrative direction or simply a consolidation of efforts under a more cohesive banner.

There were sunny skies over the Thessaloniki Film Festival this week, with unseasonably high temperatures leading many visitors to reach for the sunscreen while dashing between movie premieres and industry events at Greece’s longest-running film fest.
The local industry, too, is enjoying a moment in the sun, as the Mediterranean nation has seen production surge post-pandemic, buoyed by foreign titles like Rian Johnson’s Netflix blockbuster “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” action thriller “Tin Soldier,” starring Jamie Foxx and Robert De Niro, and the Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone starring “Expend4bles,” the latest installment of the action franchise, which filmed in Thessaloniki.
Last year, production in Greece reached record heights, with 132 projects supported by the country’s cashback scheme, which covers up to 40% of qualifying expenditures and can be combined with a separate 30% tax relief scheme. This year, Pablo Larrain’s Maria Callas biopic “Maria,” starring Angelina Jolie,...

This article contains spoilers for Loki season 2.
Phases 4 and 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have had some pretty intimidating villains thus far. From Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) and his plans to take over the Earth for all Skrulls to Wenwu (Tony Leung) and his ancient rings of power to He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) and the threat of his variants, the stakes of the Multiverse Saga have been just as formidable to overcome as Thanos and those who came before. But there’s one Loki villain who might just have them all beat – the sentient A.I. clock we all know as Miss Minutes (Tara Strong).
Now stay with me here. I’m not saying that Miss Minutes is necessarily the strongest or most powerful villain. What I’m saying is that she is by far the most ruthless, sadistic, and terrifying villain we’ve seen thus far in the Multiverse Saga,...

In the lead-up to No Time to Die, we launched a major series here on JoBlo called James Bond Revisited. In it, we took a deep dive into all of the James Bond films, as well as our favorite gadgets, Bond girls, villains and more. Notably, we also ranked the 007 actors, and now that Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond is over, folks have begun wondering who will slip into 007’s tux and become the next iconic version of Ian Fleming’s super-spy.
Of course, the rumour mill has been in overdrive over the last two years, with a recent idea that Christopher Nolan might direct a James Bond prequel being shut down pretty quickly. Whatever happens, one assumes Eon will do a major relaunch for the series and that Daniel Craig will be one mighty tough act to follow.
