Born in Bremen, Germany and raised in London, England, Caspar has had a very international background. Both a Vassar College and American Film Institute alum, most of his higher education took place in the USA. Following his undergrad, he traveled the world for twelve years as an investment banker, having worked for Morgan Stanley, Scotia Capital, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and lastly J.P. Morgan, where he established a career as one of Europe's premier Biotechnology financiers raising over US$1.8 Billion in capital during the period 1999 - 2002.
He retired from banking in 2003 and after a year at the AFI he joined veteran Academy Award winning producer John Daly's 'Film And Music Entertainment Inc.' where he worked as SVP and Head of Production.
In 2006 he formed his own Production company Fortune Films, where he continues to produce motion pictures and other entertainment content including television and branded shows.
In 2015, he was a founder of the virtual reality company Baron VR where he is now designing 'Experiences' for the burgeoning VR/AR space. In January 2018, he became founder of The BCD Company, a media asset holding company that controls the motion picture company Fortune Films, the VR/AR Company Baron VR and the commercial production company Brawler LA which boasts a roster of Emmy and other international award winning directors.
In 2018 he formed a collaborative alliance with international powerhouse fine art photography studio DYP led by acclaimed photographer David Yarrow. Together they went on to create twenty one world class photographs featuring Cindy Crawford, Alessandra Ambrosia and Josie Canseco among others. In 2019 a print featuring Jordan Belfort titled 'Wolves of Wallstreet' was sold at Art Basel for a record price of $200,000. Afterwards, a limited edition of the print went on sale featuring signatures of both Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. Yarrow thanked him for the work in his book entitled - 'Photography: Americas, Africa & Antarctica.
From 2014-2018 he was a board member of the American Film Institute's National Council. He has guest lectured for film and finance classes at NYU, AFI, UCLA, USC, Chapman and Pepperdine University. Together with his wife he is also a patron of the AFI, AWF, Ocean Conservation Foundation, Sundance Institute and Challenger's Boys & Girls Club. In 2018 he and his wife became founding patrons of the new AMPAS museum in Los Angeles. He is also a co-founder of the Idaho's Sun Valley Film Festival which as of 2023 is in its 13th year.
In 2023 he was invited to speak at the Chosun Ilbo's prestigious Asian Leadership Conference (ALC) in Seoul, South Korea and invited Academy Award winning writer/director Oliver Stone to join him. They held the Korean premiere of Stone's award winning documentary 'Nuclear Now' which has sparked intense discussion within the country to reactivate Nuclear power as a renewable energy source for the nation under the leadership of President Yoon Sun-Yeol, who was in attendance at the ALC.
He is fluent in three languages and proficient in two more. He counts skiing, golf and mountain biking to his hobbies and is an avid photographer. He resides in Santa Monica, California and Sun Valley, Idaho.
