And The Newer One

In this remake of the 1908 film of the same name, the firm run by Edward Phillips, John Bunny, and Maurice Costello, need a new stenographer. When the first applicant turns out to be Flora Finch, the office boy in charge of hiring is struck dumb. Fortunately for the firm, she is very good at her job despite her appearance. But after a few months, she falls ill and sends her cousin to serve as temporary replacement. It is Florence Turner, and the partners become very, well, gallant.

It's amusing and has got a good ending, but if it's particularly memorable, it's the first time that John Bunny and Flora Finch appeared in the same movie. They soon became Vitagraph's leading comic couple in hundreds of movies. They also despised each other.
