Cowboys and rustlers and songs!

Warning: Spoilers
A decent B western starring Charles Starrett as an investigator for the Cattleman's Protective Association dealing with rustlers, the Sons of the Pioneers and tough rancher Lorna Gray. She's initially suspicious of him until she realizes that they're on the same side, and when they arrest one of the rustlers, it's only a matter of time before others are caught and the organization is brought down. But Gray seems to be involved with the bad guys too. No way to start a romance.

These films are never above formula, so unless one of them is absolutely spectacular, I don't rank them above 5/10. Columbia made dozens of these programmers obviously on a specially designed set for westerns, and as long as the weather cooperated, they were able to complete them on or before schedule. Bob Nolan and the Sons of the Pioneers have a good sound so they're absolutely welcome for a quick ditty or novelty number.
