The recent box office success of The Boss firmly establishes Melissa McCarthy as the current queen of movie comedies (Amy Schumer could be a new contender after an impressive debut last Summer with Trainwreck), but let us think back about those other funny ladies of filmdom. So while we’re enjoying the female reboot/re-imagining of Ghostbusters and those Bad Moms, here’s a top ten list that will hopefully inspire lots of laughter and cause you to search out some classic comedies. It’s tough to narrow them down to ten, but we’ll do our best, beginning with… 10. Eve Arden The droll Ms. Arden represents the comic sidekicks who will attempt to puncture the pomposity of the leading ladies with a well-placed wisecrack (see also the great Thelma Ritter in Rear Window). Her career began in the early 1930’s with great bit roles in Stage Door and Dancing Lady.

You know how a family dinner can get really awkward when the topic of religion comes up? That’s essentially what happens on Monday’s installment of Under the Dome, with much uglier repercussions than uncomfortable silence.

Rockstar are spoiling us in this last month as we build up to the greatest game ever made (I have said it before and I am not afraid to say it again.).
Now, whether they wanted them to or not, the achievement list has been confirmed by various websites. The Trophy list is the same for PS3 as it always is, but the achievement list has been leaked for Xbox 360 in the last day or so.
Read on for all the single player achievements and click the ‘Next’ button for all the extensive ones leveled at Multiplayer. One thing is for sure from this list, we are in for a treat:
Solid Gold, Baby! (50 points) – Earn 70 Gold Medals on Missions and Strangers and Freaks.
The second biggest achievement on the list, this one is clearly all about getting the highest ratings for all the main missions/side quests in GTA V.

Like the Scorpion King and Richard B. Riddick, only about 6000 per cent fluffier, Aardman's knitwear icon Shaun the Sheep is getting his own spin-off movie. Shaun The Sheep - for that is what it's called - pools the Bristol animation house's skills with the considerable financial muscle of StudioCanal in a deal that will see the Close Shave's star joining Wallace and Gromit in the stop-motion movie pantheon. The story, penned by Richard Starzak and Madagascar writer Mark Burton, sees the mischief-making ruminant land his farmer in a world of trouble. With the old man led away from the farm, Shaun is forced to take on a rescue mission to the big city with his flock in tow. Before you can say "adopt motorbike display formation", the fluffy posse are in deep on a daredevil, lamb-chop-or-glory adventure.StudioCanal will no doubt be keen to let Aardman get on with...

A six-minute preview of Thomas Newman's score for Skyfall has already made it's way online. You can preorder it now ahead of its upcoming November 6 release as Sony has just made it the subject of the film's latest video blog. It doesn't necessarily delve into any dark corners of the score and really only looks at the iconic James Bond theme while introducing Derek Watkins, trumpet player who has performed on every single one of the Bond films beginning with Dr. No when he was 17-years-old back in 1962. Check it out below along with the tracklisting of 30 pieces of music that will be found on the film's score. One thing I think many of us have been waiting for is the chance to hear what Thomas Newman has put together for the score for Skyfall. Newman, a frequent collaborator with director Sam Mendes, has been nominated for an Oscar ten times including scores for Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (a personal favorite), Pixar titles including Wall-e and Finding Nemo and scores for Mendes' films including Road to Perdition, Jarhead and American Beauty. I have several of Newman's scores in my iTunes collection and now, via the YouTube embed to the right, we get a chance to listen to a six-minute preview of his latest and hear what he has put together for the 23rd James Bond adventure. A track-listing for the score, which will be available on November 6 and can be amazon asin="B009FBX5M0" text="pre-ordered here", also recently came online via Film Music...

Chicago – The roots of the cinematic obsession with wizards, the force and middle earth can be traced back somewhat to the Chinese tradition of the samurai warrior, and the magical realism that is practiced in that genre of films. “Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame” packs in action, magic politics and fantasy in a tale based on a real Chinese empress.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
This is an epic story, with larger-than-life heroes and villains. Everything is on a grand scale, including the ability of the martial arts fighters, the soap opera of the mystery and the vastness of a statue of Buddha that is in the center of the story. Director Hark Tsui and action choreographer Sammo Hung (”Kung Fu Hustle”) team up to combine history with the flirtation of warrior fantasy, to reveal the waste and hubris of attempting to secure a section of the world.
