Eric Bogosian made his first screen appearance in this film. He is one of the TV technicians who is forced at gunpoint to play the Women's Army videotape on the air.
Near the end of the film, the beginning of a TV news broadcast is abruptly interrupted by a message from the Women's Army. The opening animation for the news broadcast was the one used for New York TV station WNEW-TV (now WNYW), channel 5.

To save money, producer/director/writer Lizzie Borden used "short end" film - sections of unused film from a roll, and "reversal film" - stock that produces a positive image when developed (Kodachrome and Ektachrome slide film for instance).
