For all of you that don't like opera or all of you that loves opera this is the movie! Its simple, its direct, its exciting and makes you start to think. I can promise you that you wont be the same after the movie. I remembered when I saw it the first time. I thought it was scary because I never enjoyed opera before. Now I had to dig in to all the great Opera pieces available. But this version of Carmen really opened my eyes. It sooo straight forward and the movie and the singers hit you with all their feelings, desperation, love and hate. Its capturing life. Also, please notice the sound quality. Its the best I ever heard. Very gentil but it still feels like a live performance! Just try to find it at this version of Georges Bizets Carmen will actually change your life...

Excellent movie. Worth owning.

Have been looking for this movie off and on since I first saw it on PBS several years ago. It ran with English subtitles. I was completely surprised at what an enjoyable film it was. Glad to know it won several important awards. Am still trying to find a source for purchasing this.
