Carlo Verdone stated that a stand-in for actress Stella Hall was used for Nancy's skinny-dipping scene.
Actor Leopoldo Trieste was initially considered for the role of lawyer Giangiacomo Pigna Corelli in Selci (Alberto Soldi).
The character of Sergio wasn't initially included in the plot. Carlo Verdone created it to give a role to actor Mario Brega, who was determined to be in the film after starring with Verdone in Un sacco bello (1980), Bianco, rosso e Verdone (1981), and Borotalco (1982) in some of his most memorable roles after his many performances in western movies, mainly under direction of Sergio Leone.
In one scene Nancy (Stella Hall) tells Oscar (Carlo Verdone) the phone number of a "Tim Burton of Hollywood". At filming time, US director Tim Burton was almost unknown in Italy: after many years working as an animator for The Walt Disney Company, his first movie had been released only the year before (Pee Wee's Big Adventure).
Oscar's friend Capua is played by actor Sal da Vinci, who later stopped acting to become a singer.
