Friends is just a few months shy of turning 30 years old, a fact that Jennifer Aniston and Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson reflected on for Variety’s popular Actors on Actors series in an interview published Thursday.
During the heartfelt discussion, Aniston recalled Friends’ early days, when she and Matthew Perry pulled a light prank on co-star Lisa Kudrow as she was getting her hair done.

Donald Trump reveals in the upcoming book “Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” written by Variety’s co-editor in chief Ramin Setoodeh, that he asked for a salary of $6 million per episode to host “The Apprentice” Season 2. An excerpt from the book published by Vanity Fair recounts how Trump wanted a significant salary boost for the second season of his NBC reality competition series. He made $25,000 per episode during the show’s first season.
As Trump recalls, NBC was “really in the basement” at the time of his contract negotiations for “The Apprentice” Season 2 because the network’s biggest hit, “Friends,” was on its way out after 10 seasons. “Friends” always earned more viewers than “The Apprentice” when airing a new episode, but “The Apprentice” would earn more when going up against “Friends” re-runs. It appears Trump latched onto the latter statistic...

During the third seasons of their respective series, “Abbott Elementary” and “The Morning Show,” Quinta Brunson’s Janine Teagues and Jennifer Aniston’s Alex Levy both overcame significant challenges. Janine moved from teaching at Abbott to working at the Philadelphia school district, where she tried to effect systemic change. “I’m excited for how much she’s grown in this time,” Brunson, the Emmy winner and creator of “Abbott Elementary,” tells Aniston. “And now she’s back at Abbott, but she’s there with a newfound understanding of who she is.”
Meanwhile, Alex found herself enmeshed professionally and personally with the diabolical tech billionaire Paul Marks (Jon Hamm), who wanted to buy and then dismantle Uba, the TV network where Alex is a star anchor. But after finding out what he was really up to, Alex exposed Paul, thwarting the sale. Their budding romance went into the toilet, along with his purchase of Uba.

Jennifer Aniston was showered with compliments as she featured in a selfie with makeup artist Angela Levin on Instagram. In a photo reposted to a fan account last month, the 55-year-old sitcom star showed off her Bff vibes in a sunkissed snap, one checking boxes for seeing the two together and for Jen peeping hints of her bikini body. Enjoying a sunny outdoor moment as she snuggled up to celeb-adored makeup queen Angela, the Friends star stunned as she continues to defy her age, although the photo does date back to 2022. Fans went wild over the snap, and for one user, Jennifer was looking "simply stunning."

Without a doubt, David Crane and Marta Kauffman made the right call back in 1994: they booked the name Friends and created the most iconic sitcom about a friend group ever. The overwhelming popularity of their series that launched quite a few careers led to numerous other shows feasting on the same general concept: following a group of friends in their twenties through their successes and downfalls.
But admittedly, only one other sitcom got it right, adding its own twist to the Friends formula and creating a story just as compelling — and almost as long.
Finding True Love Is No Easy Task
New York hosts millions of people, and all those people are busy with their jobs, hobbies, and established social circles. In such a dense yet detached environment, finding the one and only seems nearly impossible… But those who succeed, can tell the most interesting and convoluted stories about their previous failed attempts.

Close on the heels of his performances in the slasher Scream VI and the hit romantic comedy Anyone but You, Dermot Mulroney has just wrapped production on a new horror thriller called Dead and Breakfast. This one is coming our way from the Las Vegas-based production companies Beno Films and Al Bravo Films, but filming took place in Little Rock, Arkansas. Deadline got their hands on a pair of first-look images from Dead and Breakfast, and you can check those out in this article.
Written and directed by Loppo Jp Martinez, Dead and Breakfast follows five petty criminals who rob a pawn shop in Kansas City. Still, on their drive back to Little Rock, an unexpected engine failure forces them to stay in a bed & breakfast in the middle of nowhere where their plan quickly derails into a bloodbath. One of the most popular genres to ever exist, sitcoms have long ushered as the cherished favorites for many to wind down and let themselves loose in the content. The early 2000s, in particular, saw the rise of many of these shows, which soon went on to affix their place prominently in the audience’s hearts.
At a time when Friends reigned supreme on television and streaming did not yet exist, Steve Carell and his cast representing the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Inc. came to the spotlight with The Office.

Jennifer Aniston is reportedly producing a new version of the 1980 flick 9 to 5. What does Dolly Parton think of the remake? Keep reading to see her reaction.
Jennifer Aniston Producing 9 to 5 Remake
Jennifer Aniston has taken more of a role behind the scenes than on camera in recent years. The Friends star has produced several projects but her latest might have mixed reactions. She is reportedly producing a remake of the movie 9 to 5.
The 1980 hit starred Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton as three secretaries forced to endure the sexual advances of their boss. The three join forces against their sexist boss and fantasize about various ways they would murder him.
It was Dolly Parton’s first acting role. She also wrote and recorded the movie’s theme, and “9 to 5” is still a bop.

Whether it’s How I Met Your Mother, Law & Order, or Gilmore Girls, everyone seems to have a comfort show. Like that one snack that always sounds good, it’s a show you know you can count on time and time again. You never really get tired of watching it, and you just feel better after indulging in an episode. But what exactly defines a comfort watch? What does a comfort show even look like in today’s streaming-dominant world?
I can understand why many people immediately associate “comfort watch” exclusively with the likes of Friends and The Office. Sitcoms like this not only provide familiarity, but also simplicity. It’s nice to imagine a world where conflicts miraculously get resolved in 30 minutes or less, there’s hardly any real, lasting consequences, and everyone sits down for a nice dinner together at the end.

Tonight marked the first time Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show since Donald Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts, and the host went after the media, Trump and President Joe Biden.
Stewart roasted Fox News’ Laura Ingraham for calling the justice system a “banana republic.”
The comedian went on to call out South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott for claiming on CNN that the justice system “hunts Republicans while protecting Democrats” on the very same day Hunter Biden faced jury selection for federal gun charges.
He joked that the hosts of Fox & Friends were “using pillows to cover their boners” at that news.
After that show’s correspondents didn’t correct Trump for claiming he never said “lock her up” about former presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, Stewart put them on blast, referencing Fox News’ recent $747 million settlement over repeated false election claims.

Does the world seem like it's more complicated and confusing than it used to be?
When you look at the way people lived in previous generations, are you struck by a vague sense that you missed out on something?
Do you sometimes feel as though it just hasn't been your day, your week, your month -- or even your year?
If so, you're not alone.
This might sound like the voice-over that plays over a beach volleyball scene in a commercial for the latest magic-bullet anti-depressant, but it's actually the beginning of an attempt to understand the viewing habits of tens of millions of Netflix customers.
A Surprising Trend
You see, in most previous decades, one of the defining traits of young people was a rabid interest in all things new and innovative, often to the exclusion of anything deemed "old."
That's still the case for members of Generation Z in most areas.

“Let’s not make ’em laugh” seems to be the new mantra for rewarding comedies at the Emmys.
Clear-cut, humor-filled chuckle fests once dominated the Emmys for comedy series, with classics such as “Taxi,” “The Golden Girls,” “Friends” and “Seinfeld” amusing generations of fans and finding new life via reruns and streaming services.
However, at the dawn of the streaming era, the multi-pronged so-called dramedy began creeping up in the awards circle with titles such as Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black” — which famously changed from comedy to drama — and Amazon Prime Video’s “Transparent.” As of late, the category has taken a more serious turn.
In recent years, the nominees and winners for comedy series have reflected a broader, more inclusive interpretation of comedy. Shows like Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Fleabag,” along with HBO’s “Barry” and Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” have garnered critical...

Reports that Max was highly likely to raise its subscription costs first began to circulate in early May.
Max is just days away from the release of its second season of “House of the Dragon,” which is expected to drive huge numbers for the streaming service. Given that fact, and how opportunistic Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has proven to be, it’s hardly surprising that Max appears poised to roll out a price increase this month. Some customers have already received notice that their subscription rate is going up, and it’s essentially guaranteed that more Max subscribers will get news about their costs rising before the week is out.
Key Details: Viewers who receive their Max subscription through Verizon have been notified their price is increasing starting on their next bill. The increase affects Max’s ad-free plan and will see the cost rise by $1 per month...

In Simon Pegg’s immortal comedy series Spaced, his character Tim declares: “Every odd-numbered Star Trek movie is shit.” This is, of course, hilarious today, because Pegg was in two odd-numbered Trek films, and even co-wrote the 13th movie, 2016’s Star Trek Beyond. But, the fandom myth of the odd-numbered Star Trek “curse” almost certainly begins with 1984’s Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Released in movie theaters on June 1, 1984, the third Star Trek feature film was really the second part of what would become a trilogy of films, concluding with The Voyage Home in 1986. But, more than that, The Search for Spock was a pivotal moment in which the more mature aesthetic of Star Trek truly came into its own. Despite the unkind things said about The Search for Spock over the years, the truth is, the movie is perhaps more representative of the franchise as a whole...

Friends is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024. The show has become an excellent guide for fans. For 10 seasons, the writers didn't just goof around – they taught viewers important messages about friendship and family relationships.
Along with the characters in Friends, we learned about the difficulties of career growth and raising children, and reflected on the importance of self-development and facing life's darker sides.
Friends turned out to be a universal show that is still relevant today. We see characters with different problems, and every viewer will find a reflection of their own experience in one or another episode.
But of course there are many complaints about the project. And one of the biggest is "Fat Monica."

Nowadays, it seems like a quaint notion that a television series might stay on the air long enough to run out of ideas.
But almost fifty years ago, even a successful show like Happy Days wasn't immune to using outlandish stunts to bolster ratings.
And thank goodness for that, or we might all have been deprived of the cultural touchstone that is Fonzie jumping the shark.
Fonzie Jumps the Shark (And Enters History)
The phrase "jump the shark" has become shorthand for the moment when a television show loses its creative way and begins a downward spiral in quality and popularity.
However, when the actual shark jump happened in the "Hollywood: Part 3" episode of the show's fifth season, Happy Days hit number one in the Nielsen ratings.
The series aired for another six well-received seasons and even had successful spinoffs in the sitcoms Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy.

Lily Tomlin feels "rejected" over Jennifer Aniston's new version of '9 to 5'.The 55-year-old 'Friends' actress recently revealed she plans to produce a reimagining of the 1980 classic - which starred Tomlin alongside Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton - and Tomlin has admitted she was hurt when she heard about plans to bring the story to the big screen once again. When asked how she feels about the new film, Tomlin told People: "I felt sort of the same way I felt about the [2009 Broadway] musical. You know, part of you feels rejected. You think that character’s yours always. And you could reembody it."She went on to insist Aniston and screenwriter Diablo Cody may face some troubles getting the project off the ground. She added: ""It's going to be tough to make [the movie] happen. My sympathies are with Jennifer and her writer Diablo, who is a good writer.

It's hard for fans who remember the original NBC airing of Friends to believe, but "The One Where The Show Turns Thirty" is almost here.
Friends was a ratings juggernaut from its 1994 premiere and ended its ten-year run with the fourth most-watched series finale in television history.
That would have been an impressive note for any show to go out on, but Friends went on to enjoy a charmed (and lucrative) afterlife in syndication for another decade before becoming a recent surprise hit with a whole new generation on Netflix.
So why haven't we seen another sitcom make a similar impact in the past thirty years?
Friends was a reflection of its specific cultural moment, which also laid the foundation for our current comedic landscape, and there hasn't been an equivalent upheaval since.
Friends Is a Victim Of Its Influence
If the show seems amusing but nothing special to indifferent viewers today,...

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone is coming to an end with the second part of the final season, currently in production. According to a recent report, three major Yellowstone stars would return to the spinoff series with a record salary.

It was reported that Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Luke Grimes would return in the spinoff. Earlier reports suggested that the spinoff is eyeing top actors like Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer, who are pricier than the three aforementioned Yellowstone stars.

If there is a television series out there synonymous with the word “Iconic,” it has to be Friends. While the comedy series was released all the way back in 1994, it has managed to pass the test of time and is as incredible today as it was decades ago. Whether it is Joey, Chandler, Ross, Pheobe, Monica, or Rachel, the six fictional people were more than just characters; they were our friends.
