Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.

It's the beginning of the end for the "Fast & Furious" franchise, with "Fast X," the first half of the two-part conclusion of the series, speeding its way into theaters later this year. As was announced in 2022, Academy Award-winner and Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson, is joining the "Fast" family as the mysterious new character, Tess. While little has been made known about her new character, Larson's past performances make her a perfect addition to the action franchise centering on fast cars, heists, spies, and loyalty.
Larson has been acting since she was just a child, with her breakthrough performance on the sitcom "Raising Dad" occurring when she was only 12 years old. She would go on to appear in bit parts in films like "13 Going on 30" as one of the Six Chicks, or in "Sleepover," where she plays an 8th grader with a driver's license because she's been held back so many times.

For horror fans, the autumnal season is the time of year when we all get to be the belle of the ball. For a few weeks each year, our expertise in all things creepy and spooky is valued above all other film fanatics, and we're often tasked with providing as many film recommendations as possible for casual horror fans to cram into a month or two of viewing. Sure, there's bound to be requests for "the scariest movie ever," but as new crops of monster kids grow into their own year after year, there's an evergreen need for horror movies that adults can watch with their little ones.
Family-friendly horror movies are a great way to inaugurate younger viewers to one of the most prolific subgenres in all of cinema, as well as offer a safe outlet to begin processing negative emotions like fear, grief, sadness, and anxiety. It's a...

Not all Stephen King movies are created equal. King's massive catalog of frights has made for exciting film adaptations ever since Brian de Palma gave us "Carrie" in 1976. However, "The Shining" might be best remembered for King's criticisms of the film. Those who remember 1979's "Salem's Lot" miniseries might have found themselves asking, "Why is the vampire blue?" Does 2017's "It" really have a scarier Pennywise the Dancing Clown than the 1990 remake?
The most successful King adaptations tend to stray from the source material, which isn't always a bad thing. King is a master storyteller, but his gifts don't automatically translate to the screen. In fact, creative license often makes the movies based on his work — "Carrie" and "The Shining" in particular — better than they would have been had they followed the text faithfully.
Because the adaptation process is imperfect, some King movies succeed where others fail. Others get lost in limbo,...

It took me a long time to realize why I'm afraid of Katey Sagal. The talented actor seems like a lovely person, but whenever I hear her voice in an episode of Futurama or catch sight of her in a Married... with Children rerun, I get a little jolt of fear. It wasn't until Disney+ launched with a fully stocked back catalog of Disney Channel original movies (DCOMs) that I realized my Sagal fear stems from Smart House, the scariest Dcom ever made.
Somehow my tween brain and my adult brain failed to make the connection between Sagal and Pat, the voice (and later physical embodiment) of the smart house at the center of the film. For the uninitiated, Smart House is centered on the Cooper family - Ben, Angie, and their dad, Nick. At 13, Ben is committed to preserving his late mother's memory by ensuring that his father doesn't start dating again.

It’s a good thing Brie Larson is at peace with her earlier heartbreaks. In a video she posted on Thursday, the “Captain Marvel” star rattled off all the movies she auditioned for and didn’t get — and it’s quite the list.
Larson broke her list down into movies she auditioned for and then missed out on, as well as movies she made it to the final round for and still didn’t get. And all of these were just from between 2008 and 2009.
“It’s a lot of heartbreak, folks. Here I am, still standing,” she said after running down her list.
Hearing Brie Larson rattle them off rapid-fire is delightful and hilarious, but in case you can’t watch, here’s the full list, including some blockbusters, Oscar-winners, some real stinkers and even a pair of Marvel movies!

[To get you into the spooky spirit, the Daily Dead team is spotlighting double features that we think would be fun to watch this Halloween season. Check here for more double feature recommendations and other Halloween 2017 coverage.]
There’s nothing quite like an outside threat to bring a family together, especially when that threat is of the undead variety. Siblings may not always get along, but when your sister’s soul is sought by a coven of witches, or when your mom is eyed as an eternal bride by a coffin-dwelling creep, it’s time to take those Sister Sledge lyrics to heart and become a family that can overcome anything—including wicked spells and sharp fangs. Set on respective fateful nights where the future of a homestead hangs in the balance and its up to siblings to save it, Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire and Hocus Pocus are family-friendly films that make for a great double feature during the Halloween season.

Lionsgate has bought the rights to Smart House, a feature film idea from Saw and Furious 7 director James Wan, who is attached to produced the horror.
According to Variety, the film is based on an original idea from Wan about a family placed in witness protection in a smart house, capable of fighting off any attacks (hopefully). When a group of assassins discover the location of the family, the smart house's capabilities are put to the test.
Alexandre Aja is attached to direct the film. Aja is best known for his horror work on Horns, Piranha 3D, and The Hills Have Eyes. Smart House seems right up his alley, and will presumably skew more horror than action thriller. The script comes from Brad Keene,...

Saturday Night Live, Ep. 40.17, “Michael Keaton/Carly Rae Jepsen” can’t build a show around its host
Saturday Night Live, Season 40, Episode 17, “Michael Keaton/Carly Rae Jepsen”
Aired April 4, 2015 at 11:30 pm Et on NBC (East coast version watched for review)
The Host: The world needs more Michael Keaton. He is an actor capable of incredibly unhinged weirdness and painfully deep pathos, so it makes some unfortunate sense that Hollywood has not always known what to do with him. But it is rather unfortunate that SNL can’t really figure out what to do with their host either. Keaton either finds himself at the center of sketches that can’t construct a universe to sustain his oddball energy (the advertising sketch) or sidelined in sketches without strong POVs (the “Smart House” sketch). It’s unsurprising, then, that the one sketch where Keaton shines is the Easter greeting sketch, where he just addresses the camera for five minutes, a conceit that puts the full breadth of his talents on display.

Michael Keaton has hosted “Saturday Night Live” twice before, but hasn’t hosted since 1992. It was a full decade between that and his original hosting gig. The man does not rush things when it comes to hanging out in Studio 8H. And while the iron may not be quite as hot on his career as it was during the recent Oscars season, that’s no reason not to have him host now. His off-kilter persona and unique energy are still perfect for the show, and there’s little reason to think there’s every chance for a great episode tonight. As always, I’ll be liveblogging each segment as they air. As always, a few of you will not understand that it’s Ok if my opinions don’t line up with yours. As always, most of you understand that and enjoy sharing your opinions along with mine in real time.

Beginning in 1997, the Disney Channel began its Disney Channel Original Movies (DCOMs). Though they're still popular among kids, it was the children and teens of the late ’90s/early 2000s that got to witness the golden age of one of the best kinds of TV movies: “Brink!,” “Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century,” “Smart House,” “Halloweentown,” and “The Luck of the Irish” are among just some Dcom classics. And while just hearing titles of Disney Channel Original movies brings a wave of nostalgia for millenials, many of them bring something else: familiar faces. Some of today's A-list actors have been in these Disney Channel TV movies. Does the song "Supernova Girl" ring a bell? Do movies about boys turning into leprechauns and mermen sound vaguely familiar?
Admit it, you watched all the old school Disney Channel Original Movies. Whether you dreamed of being a skating legend after "Brink!" or wished you lived in a home that listened to your every command after seeing "Smart House," it was tough not to love the classic DCOMs. Most of the stars have long since grown up, any many are nearing or older than 30 (we can't believe it). We've rounded up of some of our favorite Dcom stars with their before and after photos, and some are pretty tough to recognize.

Jason Anders/Starlog: So let's talk about your childhood and what it was like to grow up with your father serving as a U.S. army intelligence officer; what was it like for you to spend parts of your childhood in West Germany and Okinawa, how did that impact your life, and do you remember at what point you considered acting a pursuable passion?
Joe Morton: First off, my father was not an intelligence officer. He was a captain in the artillery but, essentially, his job was to integrate the arm forces overseas. We are speaking about the years between 1951 to 1958. That means my father showed up, with my mother and I in tow, to what ever post he was assigned to ... racially unannounced. That time of my life was fiercely strange and difficult. My father was constantly battling his white superior officers as well as the white enlisted...
