There is a thrilling denouement to this picture which even the amateurish portrayal by the butler cannot destroy. Harry Mainhall, the Man Outside, overacted his part when taken by the Angel into her home. He has done fine acting heretofore on the screen. Later, in his work outside the house and the denunciation of the butler, he was himself. It was an oversight keeping us in the dark for a half-dozen scenes as to the identity of the secretary. A good release, nevertheless. - The Moving Picture World, November 22, 1913
