A very pretty picture, telling a tragic love story of Latin-American people, perhaps Mexicans. It is well acted; also the costuming, staging and scene choosing are very carefully done. It is an excellent and true picture of the tropic lands south of us, full of sunlight, warmth and passion. The story is well conducted, clear and interesting. The young heroine is abandoned by her husband for a girl of the drinking place with a rose in her hair. He is frightened into coming back, but now the girl refuses him. It is a good feature picture, well photographed and of substantial good qualities. - The Moving Picture World, April 13, 1912
