8. Jigsaw’s Bone-Chilling Question in Saw (2004)
Jigsaw himself is the most terrifying aspect of his titular movie, so no wonder many people still remember his iconic question, “Do you want to play a game?” Except that Jigsaw never inquired about his victims’ desires: he didn’t feel the need to. The actual phrase this horror villain said was, “I want to play a game.” Less sinister, right?
7. Freddy Krueger’s Dirty Language in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Good ol’ Freddy Krueger really messed with poor Nancy’s psyche.Tormenting her in her dreams over and over again, the cheeky bastard didn’t even show an ounce of respect to her, especially when he told her, “I’m your boyfriend now, b*tch.” That’s how most fans remember it — but in the movies Freddy never insulted her like that.

Eleven years have gone by since the release of a new entry in the Scary Movie horror parody series – but the franchise isn’t going to remain dormant for much longer. Deadline reports that the Miramax label at Paramount, which is now operating under new boss Jonathan Glickman, has given the greenlight to a new Scary Movie sequel, with the plan being to get the film into theatres sometime in 2025. If any writers or a director are attached to the project, they weren’t named in this announcement.

Fun trivia: one of the working titles for Wes Craven's 1996 slasher satire "Scream" was "Scary Movie." Filmmaker Keenan Ivory Wayans got wind of this trivia, and decided in 2000 to make a film called "Scary Movie" intended to satirize the popularity of "Scream." The late 1990s were a curious time in popular culture, as there weren't too many dominant horror trends. Popular music was beginning to comment on its own self-awareness (see: "Flagpole Sitta") and irony became ironic. Self-reflection went from a healthy Socratic exercise into a loop of eternal recurrence. By 2000, we became so busy commenting on our own commentaries, that it was hard to see where we started. This is where "Scary Movie" dropped in.
Make no mistake, "Scary Movie" is unfunny, as are its many sequels. They're cheap, homophobic, and vulgar. Wayans took his model from spoof filmmakers like Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker, but aimed to make something...

Natasha Lyonne has shared a creepy story about James Woods hitting on her during the filming of Scary Movie 2 as part of a darkly comedic riff on the history of sexual assault in Hollywood that left even Conan O’Brien uncomfortable.
The actor told the story during her recent appearance on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast after revisiting her earlier experience with Marlon Brando holding her boob as part of the script for Scary Movie 2 before he dropped out due to illness.
Woods replaced Brando as Father McFeely in the scene, a spoof of The Exorcist in which Lyonne plays Megan Voorhees, a parody of Linda Blair’s possessed character from the original movie. Speaking on the podcast, Lyonne remembered Woods “hitting on me as a teenager in full monster makeup,” adding, “It’s a crazy move, dude.” Watch the segment below.

As confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, Richard Moll, known by most as the tall, bald bailiff Aristotle Nostradamus "Bull" Shannon on "Night Court" and the voice of Harvey Dent/Two-Face on "Batman: The Animated Series," died at his home in Big Bear Lake, California. At a towering 6-foot-8-inches tall, Moll often played intimidating figures, like his first television role of "Big Thug" on "Welcome Back, Kotter," Harold the Monster on "Here's Boomer," the abominable snowman in the film "Caveman," the gigantic zombie soldier in "House," Hoagie in "The Flintstones," Mestema in "The Dungeon Master," Hugh Kane in "Scary Movie 2," and even one of the Dementors in "Jingle All the Way."

The 80-year-old passed away peacefully at his home in Big Bear Lake, California.
The 6’8″ actor rose to fame on the courtroom comedy, which starred Harry Anderson and John Larroquette and ran from 1984 to 1992. He did not appear in the recent Peacock reboot.

Richard Moll, the fun-loving actor who portrayed the towering and tenderhearted bailiff Aristotle Nostradamus “Bull” Shannon on all nine seasons of the popular NBC sitcom Night Court during its original run, has died. He was 80.
Moll died peacefully Thursday at his home in Big Bear Lake, California, his publicist announced.
Suitable for his 6-foot-8 frame, Moll played an abominable snowman alongside Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach in the comedy feature Caveman (1981), and he was a scary, decomposing Vietnam veteran in the horror film House (1986).
Moll also did lots of voiceover work, with a regular gig as the immortal bodyguard Norman on the syndicated series Mighty Max and turns as Harvey Dent/Two-Face for three Batman cartoons.
Moll had a shaved head — he did that to play the warrior Hurok in the sci-fi film Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn (1983) — when he auditioned for the role of Shannon on Night Court, created by Reinhold Weege.

In July 2021, it was announced that Universal Pictures had spent $400 million to acquire rights to The Exorcist. Planning a trilogy, with two sequels that would be exclusive to the studio’s streamer Peacock, they collaborated with horror outfit Blumhouse in a deal that essentially seemed rush to match Netflix’s then-groundbreaking pact to produce two Knives Out sequels. Well, in the two years since—where Wall Street has realized the long-game business plan of streaming was actually, to quote George Herbert Walker Bush, “voodoo economics”—the first entry of this (hopefully not-realized) horror trilogy lands in theaters with a not-insignificant amount of pressure to recoup the investment.

In the most memorable scene from The Exorcist, the demon inside preteen Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) taunts Father Karras (Jason Miller), telling him that his recently deceased mother was in hell with it. “If that’s true, then you must know my mother’s maiden name,” Karras tells her, smirking. “What is it?” The answer wasn’t so much a word as a growl and maybe a gallon of green, sticky vomit. From his reaction, that wasn’t her maiden name.

One of the last roles for legendary actor Marlon Brando involved holding the breast of young actress Natasha Lyonne in the horror-comedy parody Scary Movie 2. Sadly, the scene never made it into the final cut.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly’s video series “Role Call,” Lyonne said Brando dropped out of the project, allegedly because of illness. But before he did, he filmed a scene with her, and she retained a video copy of that memorable meeting.
The scene in question came at the start of the sequel, a scene parodying The Exorcist. Lyonne played a Linda Blair-esque young girl who was possessed, with two priests (played in the film by James Woods and Andy Richter) attempting to exorcise the demon. Brando was originaly in Woods’ role before dropping out.

In an alternate, perhaps better, universe, a version of 2001’s “Scary Movie 2” exists that depicts silver-screen icon Marlon Brando in a cameo role, playing opposite Natasha Lyonne’s demon-possessed character. In the unreleased scene, which the “Russian Doll” star credited as making her think that “showbiz is all right,” Brando’s character performs an exorcism while clutching her boob.
Let’s backtrack: The second installment of the horror spoof franchise features a cold open of Lyonne paying a humorous homage to the role Linda Blair originated in 1973’s “The Exorcist.” She acts opposite longtime Conan O’Brien writer Andy Richter and James Woods (“Ghosts of Mississippi”), who portray the priests trying to exorcize her.
Well, initially, Woods’ role was supposed to be played by Brando, who eventually dropped out of filming as a result of health issues.

The opening of “Scary Movie 2” memorably features Natasha Lyonne in a parody of “The Exorcist.” The comedian appears as a demon-possessed woman who gets a visit from two priests, played by James Wood and Andy Richter. Lyonne reminded fans in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that Marlon Brando was originally cast in Wood’s cameo and shot some scenes before dropping out of “Scary Movie 2” due to health reasons. Brando’s scene was never released.
“I have a VHS copy of the dailies that I got because Marlon Brando’s final role — sadly for him, but luckily for me — is doing this ‘Exorcist’ opening teaser,” Lyonne said. “I don’t know what he was thinking, really. I mean, why would he do that?”
Recalling Brando’s short time on set, Lyonne said he was “very chatty” and had an earpiece in order to assist in his line readings.

Oscar-winner Marlon Brando was originally set to star in “Scary Movie 2” shortly before his death in 2004.
And while Brando certainly could have been a contender for big laughs in the role, co-star Natasha Lyonne recalled an awkward yet “A-ok” experience with the screen legend.

Brando played a priest alongside Andy Richter who tries to get rid of a demon possessing Lyonne’s character in an “Exorcist” spoof for the 2001 parody film. And while Brando certainly could have been a contender for big laughs in the role, co-star Natasha Lyonne recalled an awkward yet “A-ok” experience with the screen legend.
“I have a VHS copy of the dailies that I got because Marlon Brando’s final role — sadly for him, but luckily for me — is doing this ‘Exorcist’ opening teaser,” Lyonne told Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know what he was thinking, really.”
Brando played a priest alongside Andy Richter who tries to get rid of a demon possessing Lyonne’s character in an “Exorcist” spoof for the 2001 parody film. Marlon Wayans marked this month’s 20th anniversary of “Scary Movie” with a new Variety interview in which he touches upon the”evil” nature of Harvey and Bob Weinstein. The spoof comedy was produced and distributed by Dimension Films, the genre arm of the Weinstein brothers’ Miramax Films, and it was a huge win for the studio after it grossed more than $157 million domestically on a $19 million budget. Marlon Wayans co-wrote the script and starred in the film with his brother, Shawn. The duo’s older brother, Keenon Ivory Wayans, handled directing duties.
The success of “Scary Movie” launched a lucrative franchise for the Weinstein-owned Dimension that included four sequels and nearly $1 billion in grosses at the worldwide box office. All three Wayans brothers would return for the 2001 sequel “Scary Movie 2,” another financial success with $141 million on a $45 million budget, but they were shut out of their own franchise starting with “Scary Movie 3.

Two decades before her turn as the gruff-voiced, sardonic Nadia on the existential dramedy “Russian Doll,” a teenage Natasha Lyonne played DJ, the
chirpy narrator in Woody Allen’s 1996 whimsical romantic-comedy musical “Everyone Says I Love You.” Lyonne’s name first appeared in Variety on Dec. 2, 1996, in a review of the Allen film.
In the next few years she went on to star in a number of raunchy teen comedies, including “American Pie,” “But I’m a Cheerleader” and “Scary Movie 2.”
She recently wrapped up her role as Nicky Nichols (aka Junkie Philosopher) on the final season of “Orange Is the New Black.”
“Russian Doll,” which she stars in and co-created alongside Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland, has 13 Emmy nominations and is set for a second season.

The relationship between humans and cats over time has given way to a number of cultural impressions and outright superstitions. Ancient Egyptians associated them with gods. In the Middle Ages, they were linked with witches and killed en masse, which probably hastened the spread of the Black Plague through the rodent population. Next month over on streaming giant Netflix offers up a giant selection of films of all stripes — modern to classic, animated to live action, Oscar contender to…not so much — and we’ve picked seven (well, really 11) that you should watch as soon as humanly possible, either for the first time or as part of a nostalgic little binge. Enjoy.
1. “Footloose” (available September 1)
If you’ve never experienced the original “Footloose” — no, not the one starring Miles Teller, though he is quite serviceable in a charming role — do yourself a favor and check out Herbert Ross’ 1984 classic. Yes, the concept of a town outlawing dancing is bizarre and outdated, but Ross and his cast (including Kevin Bacon in the kind of star-making role that’s so rare these days) really sell the concept, thanks to some serious drama and hard-earned emotion. But there is also dancing! It’s joyous and gymnastic and pure,...

Over 40 years after bringing Dr. Frank-n-Furter to legendary onscreen life, Tim Curry has joined the cast of Fox's two-hour reboot of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. With Laverne Cox stepping into the high heels of the doctor this time around, Curry will play a different role: the Criminologist Narrator.
Press Release: Tim Curry, the Emmy Award-winning actor, Tony Award nominee and creator of the original “Dr. Frank-n-Furter,” will return to the iconic, pop culture phenomenon as the Criminologist Narrator of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the two-hour television event airing this fall on Fox. Curry, an accomplished stage, television and film actor, originated the breakout “Dr. Frank-n-Furter” role in the 1973 London stage production of “The Rocky Horror Show,” returning to play the character in the Lou Adler-executive-produced film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” which premiered September 26, 1975, and has been in theatrical distribution longer than any other film in history.

Coitus. Intercourse. Sexy time.
Is there anybody out there who doesn’t love having sex? You can burn calories, get intimate with someone that you like and love, and just have a jolly good thrash around the bedroom with each other. But let’s face it, there are some things that you don’t really like happening in the bedroom.
Whilst sex can be amazing, it also comes with its fair share of problems that really need to be addressed. The biggest one is that sex is never like how they show it in the movies because it’s messy, you’re sweaty and sometimes, the boys just don’t know what they’re doing. And whilst you may feel like you’re sort of winging it too, you’re not the one who is trying to rip off your partner’s nipples, believing that it’s sexy…...

James Woods in 'Videodrome.' James Woods in $10 million Twitter lawsuit feud: Crassly vocal right-wing actor goes after two crassly vocal users who attacked him In a letter dated Aug. 21, '15, Twitter attorney Ryan Mrazik ridiculed Surf's Up and Scary Movie 2 actor James Woods, while also highlighting the potentially dangerous precedent of a $10 million lawsuit the 68-year-old entertainer filed against a Twitter user last July. The lawsuit was followed by a subpoena demanding that the social media giant reveal the user's identity and that of another user with whom Woods has been embroiled in the (generally) no-holds-barred Twitterverse. In case you're unfamiliar with the name, these days the two-time Oscar-nominated Woods is best known for a supporting role as a right-wing sociopath in Roland Emmerich's thriller White House Down, starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx (as a liberal-minded U.S. president despised by Woods' character), and for his relentless,...
