- The preview version of the movie has slightly different dialogue in the telephone conversation between Bernie Rose and Driver preceding the meeting at the Great Wall restaurant. Regular theatrical cut Driver: [to Bernie] You know the story about the scorpion and the frog? Your friend Nino didn't make it across the river. Preview version Bernie Rose: Where's Nino? Driver: He's Gone. The reference to the story about the scorpion and the frog was left out of the preview version.
- UK radio station Radio 1 created a new soundtrack for Drive with the backing of the director. The new soundtrack features new music from The 1975, Baauer, BANKS, Bastille, CHVRCHES, SBTRKT and Eric Prydz. It was broadcast on BBC3 on 30th October 2014.
- The US theatrical version of the film featured less dialogue; the line referring to the toad and the scorpion was absent, as was Nino's line: "Go check out who this guy fucking is." The ambient track usage also varied, with some scenes containing altered tracks and or track timing, and in some cases different tracks entirely.
- The DVD version of the movie has a few noticeable differences compared to the Blu-Ray version.
- The movie is degraded; color grading is very dull compared to the Blu-Ray version
- Some sequences uses different sound effects (The head stomping scene for instance)
- Original soundtrack is not featured
- The German theatrical version was cut by 2 minutes for a "Not under 16" rating for gory violence. The uncut version was released on home video with a "Not under 18" rating.
