- Raw attacks of gunshots to the body/torso area. There is a large amount of blood, however the film was shot in black & white so the gore factor is decreased as it's harder to make out detail though gore is present.

- Students are smoking in practically every other scene. Since this film took place in the late 80's, smoking was fashionable and considered a norm in schools during this time in Montreal.
- One scene depicts a bunch of students smoking and drinking in a loud room during the massacre, not knowing what is happening outside in the hallways.

- There are a few attack scenes where you don't see it coming. There are scenes where dead, blood-covered bodies are seen. One shot depicts a girl who was shot right in the forehead.
