Rising British talents C.J Beckford and Maisie Richardson-Sellers are set to appear in the feature “Run.”
The film, from director Bernard Kordieh and Rashomon Films, was shot in 2022 under Covid-19 restrictions and is, per the description, a “social impact feature film designed to start a conversation about mental health and strip away the stigma surrounding the issue.”
“As filmmakers, finding one’s creative voice is a difficult and sometimes isolating process, and the dynamics of personal relationships can either aid or hinder this journey,” Kordieh said in a statement. “‘Run’ explores the complex relationship between mental health and creativity, as our protagonist grapples with the pressure to produce great work and the emotional toll it takes on him. It also explores the complexities of relationships with no true ‘villains’ in a break-up that seeks to create a story that balances raw authenticity with magic realism on a deep and emotional level.

Up until recently I worked the night shift in a hotel, so I know how creepy it can feel at times, especially when you’re getting used to the place with all of the building’s odd little noises and quirks. That’s the position Gwen finds herself in.
Recently moved into the area and in need of money, she’s answered an ad for a temporary overnight position at the All Tucked Inn. The owner Teddy, who seems to be making his story up as he goes along, tells her the woman who regularly does the job has been sidelined with medical issues. He’d love to stay and help, but he has a date. But there’s nothing to worry about, this is a quiet, peaceful place where nothing ever happens.

Roll up, roll up: It’s Cannes prognostication time.
With the 77th edition of the great cinema showcase less than three months away, the blurred outline of a lineup is beginning to emerge. At this stage, the process of elimination is as telling as the process of inclusion: hardly any films have been guaranteed a slot by the festival, but we’re starting to get some clarity on which projects are likely to be ready and which are leaning towards a different launch strategy.
There has been a longstanding expectation that George Miller will be back at the festival with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Cannes chief Thierry Frémaux himself has said he “hopes” it’ll be there and while it isn’t locked yet, nothing we’re hearing so far indicates it won’t be at the festival. The film’s May 22 France release date and Miller’s long...

Steve McQueen is a name so cool that two famous people have to share it: the American actor and action film icon known for films like “The Great Escape” and “Bullitt” before he died in 1980, and the Oscar-winning British film director behind acclaimed dramas like “12 Years a Slave,” “Hunger,” and “Small Axe.” Now, McQueen the director has revealed that McQueen the actor was part of his formative filmgoing experiences.

Oscar-winning filmmaker and artist Steve McQueen is set to debut his latest project, a 24-minute film about the Grenfell Tower disaster, next month at the Serpentine art Gallery in West London.
The film, titled Grenfell, was shot in December 2017 and is described as McQueen’s “response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy,” which saw 72 people killed as the result of a devastating fire at the high-rise Grenfell tower apartment block in North Kensington, West London. The tragedy caused the UK’s highest loss of life following a residential fire since the Second World War.
McQueen’s film is said to run 24 minutes and 2 seconds long and features footage of the charred tower shot from a helicopter. There is no narrative story or dramatization within the installation.
“There are going to be people who are going to be a little bit disturbed,” McQueen told the British newspaper The Guardian about the installation in a new interview.

Wrestler-turned-actor John Cena and ‘Aquaman’ Jason Momoa are to team up for the “rowdy” comedy ‘Killer Vacation’ at Warner Bros.
Plot details are currently being kept under wraps but from the title alone we imagine it involves a holiday gone wrong.
The project has been described as a fun, splashy adventure like ‘True Lies.’ The script was written by Mark and Brian Gunn, and the project will be produced by John Rickard and Peter Safran. The film was packaged and set up at the studio before Safran took the reins with James Gunn at WB’s DC Films Unit.
Also in news – Stephen Graham, Harris Dickinson & more set for Steve McQueen’s ‘Blitz’
Cena and Momoa met on the set of the upcoming conclusions to the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise and were looking to take their natural chemistry to another film, sources say.
