The Terror of Hallow's Eve (2017)
Why is there positive reviews for this crap?
This movie was horrible! Not scary at all, not one bit. Have people forgot what a scary movie is? Not this pile of garbage!
I thought it was going for a Fade to Black vibe, which would've been way better, but it went to a mindless death by the numbers route, deaths that weren't even entertaining. Fat kid eats food in a strange setting cause that's normal for fat people. Stoner smokes joint in similar situation cause that's what stoners do. Lazy writing, bad acting and a totally pointless ending.
It's too late for me, but maybe I can save someone else from watching this waste of time.
Tomb Raider (2018)
Were the positive reviews watching a different movie?
I don't know where to start but here goes...
Lara was totally unlikable, it didn't make sense why she didn't sign the papers but chose to be poor(to make her more relatable to us pion's), not like if her father was alive he couldn't have gotten his company back. The whole burn everything about Himiko, like he couldn't do that before he left. By the way, damn nice batteries in the video camera seven years later. Ruining the Himiko story by making her Typhoid Mary instead of sticking with the much better story from the game. And the predictable paint-by-numbers plot. I pointed out so many things before they happened that I'm surprised my wife didn't think I was clairvoyant! At one part my wife asked 'Did she leave the gun behind?'(A lot of movies do that one....please just stop). And the woman at the table when she went to sign the papers, she's a villain? What?! After the movie was over it took ten minutes for my eyes to stop rolling.
It's just a no from me....
Animal (2014)
Were we watching the same movie?
This was a total waste of my viewing time! I think the positive reviews was written by people who cover their eyes while watching Scooby-Doo.
Where to start?...not scary in the least, total lack of suspense. The sisters almost lack of emotion from her brothers death, the fact that the creature can probably push furniture. That not one of them made a weapon from the various objects around them(they even had a crowbar!) When it attacked anyone, they could've rushed it and took it out, as mentioned before it couldn't move furniture so it wasn't that strong. And the end, it falls off the hood of the vehicle and was apparently stunned from the 3 foot drop, seriously!
This is the 2nd Chiller movie that has sucked. I honestly don't understand the positive reviews. Horrible!
Grey Skies (2010)
Huh? What? and Please...!
This movie starts out like its leading to something, so I suffered through the first part. Then the second part starts and I was still suffering. This is just bad. Non scary aliens, the fact that everyone could've held off the aliens with knives, rocks, papercuts... No one notices the strange behavior of their friends after they disappear and reappear. As another reviewer says, alien zombies that apparently can impregnate a woman(don't get it)who then says they won't take her after she drops her knife and is being held by an alien zombie. Yeah, she showed them! Horrible in almost everyway. I hope I've saved viewers and some lives by steering you clear of this nonsense.
Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre (2009)
R U Kidding Me!
Are You people kidding me?
I watched this piece of crap because Chiller Channel mentioned it for 2 months.
It sucked. Period! No arguing. Just plain bad!
They get on the whaling boat all 7 of them and don't group together to attack the lame killers. And the whole "Your father was a kamikaze" so load up for a suicidal attack was stupid. This movie sucked in so many ways, it wasn't even funny bad, just bad. I can't believe the number of positive reviews for this piece of crap. You guys must've liked Blair Witch Project, another non-scary piece of crap.
Avoid this movie, it will only give you a headache and 2 hours you can't get back.
The Power (1968)
A classic film
I loved this movie as a kid and an adult.
I thought it was well done and for the negative reviewers who said it was confusing, I understood it as a child. Are you dense or something?
Good acting, subtle death scenes, great action, albeit slow, but worth viewing. A nice build up and to the reviewer who said he knew who the bad guy was: Duh!
I'm so tired of you losers not taking into account when a movie was made. What movie about telekinesis compared to this then. Um, none. Enjoy a movie for when it was made and take in the effects as well. So many people say laughable effects in old movies. I hate this. They worked with what they had and did good with them.
I loved it in '68 and still love it!
Reverb (2008)
Another 90 mins of life lost...
First, this movie had a great idea. But they drew it out so long and boring and I agree, I didn't care about the characters. Good actors but no substance.
And it does the one thing I hate in any horror movie: weapons, weapons everywhere and the character doesn't grab one. Even the knife she used to cut herself free!
And of course, the old, "hey, something bad is going on. Stop it." "Ok, i'll get them out of here." "I'll stay here alone in this room while you go off alone in the building, even though I know supernatural stuff is happening."
It starts out promising but leads nowhere fast and has a total lack of suspense. And I didn't care about anyone who died. They were lucky to get out early.
If a waking coma is your thing, enjoy!
Westworld (1973)
Great movie
A great movie about an amusement park with robots to entertain you and for you to experience life in the three different worlds. Yul Brynner as the gunfighter is truly excellent and yes, scary as hell.
To nitpick a movie from the 70s is truly childish. It was interesting, action/sci-fi. Well paced, reasonably written well. Great chase scene at the end, because if the Gunslinger was coming after me, I'd be scared. And, as far as I know, the first movie to mention a 'virus' in the machines.
You might as well complain about the bombs in Dark Star having intelligence. Why would a bomb need AI? But if it didn't, the ending wouldn't have been as interesting.
It's like complaining about movies from the 50s, like 'War of the Worlds' or 'Forbidden Planet'. They worked with what they had and had no ideal about what would or could be done in the future. OMG, 1984 didn't happen like Orwell said. Guess we should toss his book in the trash. Too many people nitpicking silly things. Ever heard of entertainment?
If your a REAL sci-fi fan, watch it. You won't be disappointed!
The Blair Witch Project (1999)
My brother warned me not to watch it!
For you "deep thinkers" out there who believes the rest of us didn't get it, we did. It just wasn't...well...anything. There was a good idea in there somewhere, it just got lost.
Irritating characters who argued for almost the entire movie. I wanted the witch to show up and kill them after 30 minutes. I would've said less time, but I had hoped it'd get better by then. And the pile of rocks...OMG! To quote Bill Murray from Ghostbusters on book stacking, "Yeah, nothing human could've done that."
This movie is proof that critics should not review horror. Those pinheads get scared of dust bunnies, i'm sure.
Avoid this movie! It's too late for me, but maybe I can save someone else from this piece of crap!
