- Founded in 1915, the Belgian newspaper "La Libre Belgique" must go underground when the Germans occupy the country. Four "Aces" help the unchained paper to be printed and distributed clandestinely, Van Dooren (the paper's founder), Henri Beyns (a smuggler), Lieutenant Marcel (a secret agent), and Van Cothem (the Olympic champion of aerial combat). But the Germans won't let them have their ways.
