- Tom Hilton and Stub Macey are heading out to the Jergenson ranch to buy his cattle. However, Jeckyl and Sheriff Slater control the cattle market that forces the ranchers to buy at their price, and they are determined to keep the newcomers out.
- This surprisingly violent 15-episode serial takes place on the border between Texas and Mexico. When warned by Captain Jack of the Texas Rangers of impending trouble, elderly rancher Bill Burrel swears that Mexican cattle rustler Pancho won't do any riding or shooting in the area again. Pancho's lieutenant Santas, (who desires his boss's daughter Juanita's hand, and has been refused), overhears Burrel and decides to make things rough on Pancho by stirring up trouble for both sides. Pancho and his raiders, sworn to drive the settlers off the border country, attack the Burrel ranch and shoot Burrel dead, and his son Harry swears to make Pancho pay for his night's work. In the conflict that follows Pancho is knocked unconscious and his hands crushed in a press by masked men, apparently Texas Rangers. Though the torture is actually performed by the traitorous Santas and his cohort Rodriguez, Pancho blames the Rangers for the injury, swears revenge, and the two factions resolve to destroy each other. In succeeding chapters, Pancho and his ruthless gang menace Harry, his sweetheart Ruth and abduct Harry's younger sister Blanche, inflicting fiendish and deliberate tortures upon them. Pancho's demands are carried to his sworn enemies by the black-garbed "emissary of evil" the Masked Rider, who rides onto the scene without warning to kidnap, assault, or fire upon the Texas Rangers, their relatives, and even their horses. Pancho's daughter Juanita, frequently harassed by his men, is shocked by her father's cruelty and takes surreptitious action to prevent his murdering innocent captives when she can. She also falls in love with Captain Jack of the Rangers, which complicates matters even further. Rugged and outspoken "Ma Chadwick," Ruth's mother, helps the Rangers when Blanche and then Ruth are both kidnapped. Interesting shooting locations include a hacienda complex in Sabinas, Mexico, an ancient mission in San Antonio, the gigantic Medina Dam, at which a terrific action sequence was apparently almost thoroughly improvised (the scene does not appear in the original shooting script), and the "hole in the wall," a labyrinthine passage through the border mountains.
- Marshal Reb Russell (Reb Russell), working for the Cattleman's Pretectice Association, is sent into a territory to investigate a large-scale rustling operation carried out by a well organized gang of outlaws. He is ambushed outside of town by Jerry Blake (Gene Alsace), a man he once sent to prison, and kills him in the ensuing gunfight. Red finds a note on Blake that introduces him to man called Deke. The gunfight is witnessed by Tommy Lord (Hal Taliaferro) and his girlfriend, Sue Callahan ('Lucille Lund), whose father, Wade Callahan (Lafe McKee),has been a victim of the rustlers. Sue rides for the sheriff, Curt Turner (Slim Whitaker). It turns out that the sheriff and his ten-man posse comprise most of the members of the rustling gang and have no intentions of allowing Reb to leave the area with his life intact.
- An agent sent to investigate the thefts of gold bullion shipments discovers that the mine owner is behind it. He also finds out that the owner has his gang capture travelers in the desert to use as slave labor in the mine.
- The Rangers are after Travis. When Tom catches three of his gang members, he gets Jimmy to go straight and lead him to Travis where he hopes to join the gang. But Tom is in trouble when Pat...
- Perrin and his partner get paid a big sum of money at the end of their cattle drive. Shortly thereafter, the partner is found with a knife in his back and Perrin is blamed for the murder.
- Bob Marlow is sent undercover to an Arizona town where an outlaw gang, comprised of the six Tolliver brothers, have taken over the town and terrorizing the citizens. He comes to town, posing as an Eastern dude, and, through a series of incidents manages to get rid of three of the brothers, mostly through their own ineptness. The remaining brothers decide to get-while-the-gettin'-is good, rob the bank and head for the Mexican border. But Bob isn't far behind.
- When Clay Morgan kills Joel Potter, Marshal Manning has to arrest the brother of the girl he plans to marry. When the Morgans effect Clay's escape, the Potters take Ann Morgan as a hostage. Manning is now caught in the middle and the two sides are about to fight it out.
- Doran and the Sheriff have a scheme to bring in an outlaw gang. Doran is sent to prison so he and the gang leader Mitchell can break out. This gets him into the gang but he is in trouble when it's revealed he is working with the Sheriff.
- Jim Morgan, in cahoots with the Sheriff, hires three wanted gunmen Dog Town Kid, Gibbs, and Pike and makes them Deputies. He wants them to kick the homesteaders off their land. The Kid then arrests the outlaw Lobo Joe. When the three fail him, Morgan turns to Lobo Joe with disastrous results.
- A misogynistic reporter finds himself taking up the cause of a young women he believes is falsely accused of killing her husband.
- After putting away a gangster, a policewoman tries to turn around the lives of several young women with shady pasts.
- When Sundown wins a horse race he is paid with a deed to a ranch. Arriving at the ranch he finds the Prestons already living there. They bought it from the fake land agent Taggart who then frames Sundown for murder.
- Rin-Tin-Tin brings the killer of his mistress to justice.
- Johnny Hume witnesses the slaughter of his family at age six. When he grows into manhood, will he be able to seek his vengeance?
- When his bank fails, a young man loses not only all his money but his fiancée, deserts him, too. Depressed, he joins a circus.
- A newly hired police chief vows to clean up a notoriously corrupt police department. When he is murdered, investigators find that there is no shortage of suspects, most of them being fellow cops.
- Three men, each on his individual quest, meet at a deserted cabin and take the assumed names of Ace, King, and Jack. They then team up to try to bring water to a dried-up town.
- Bruce Reynolds is looking for his grandfather's map to a hidden supply of gold. When Garlow sees Amos Jenkins with the map he kills him. Cliff Graves witnesses the murder and jealous of Reynolds for taking away his girl friend Joan, blames him for the crime.
- John Clark (Bob Steele) and his deaf pal, Bootch Collum (Buck Connors), are trailed by U. S. Marshal Lamar Bly (Jack Rockwell), who thinks they are part of The Kootney Kid's (Earl Dwire) gang, which had just held up the stage coach. But the gang attacks the pair, and Bly joins them in the gunfight. Bly is wounded and is taken to a Mexican's camp to recover. He gives John his badge and authorizes him to take up the hunt. The Kid, unknown to John by sight, is on a ranch which he hopes to gain legal possession of as it has oil. It is really John's by right, which he does not know until informed by his sweetheart, Joan Vallon (Roberta Gale.) The Kid has taken a letter from the stage holdup which he is using to establish his identity as the rightful owner named Everett Tarkington Clark, John's real name. John is in the courtroom when the Kid makes his claim, but his protest is overruled and he is arrested on suspicion of having killed Marshal Bly. He and Bootch escape and ride to intercept the Kid who is on his way to eliminate Bly, the only person that can verify John's claim...
- Jim Blake rescues criminal Hare Talton and Good Samaritan Estaban Solano from dehydration and death and tries to rehabilitate Harve by taking him in as partner in his gold strike.
- When his young son is shot, John Wellington kills the culprit and flees. But his son Johnny recovers and is raised by Sir George. Some twenty years later Johnny sets out to find Sir George's missing granddaughter. He finds her and also finds Rand, but neither of the two men realize they are father and son.
- Hank Davis kills Jack Lewis to get his gold mine. Bruce Conway brings him in, then realizes that Davis is the only one who knows where the mine is. Bruce and his pal Whitey rescue Davis from the lynch mob only to have Davis' gang catch them and leave them in the desert to die.
- Funds are embezzled and a fur trapper is murdered. Rin Tin Tin to the rescue!
- Corporal Jack Borden, of the Northwest Mounted Police, trails the man who killed his partner to New York City. The killer is an unscrupulous promoter who is selling worthless stock in a gold mine. Borden, with the help of Blanche Hall, locates the man in a Bowery dive, but he escapes and Borden tracks him back to Canada. Along the way, he discovers that Blanche and his sweetheart, Milly, are long-separated sisters and brings about a reconciliation.
- When Mark 'High Gear' Sherrod (Murray) looses his nerve, the race car driver takes a job driving a taxi, but when he befriends a cute reporter and the young handicapped son of a deceased driver, he attempts to return to the track.
- Ranger Ray plans to marry stage driver Bill Mason's daughter Mary. Unknown to Mary, twenty years earlier when he was Sheriff Mason had to kill her father.
- Tom Riley and sidekick Windy arrive at the Baker ranch where horses are being rustled. It appears the culprit is a wild horse, but Tom catches and rides the horse which leads to trouble with the real rustlers.
- Trouble starts when Bill Larkins and his two sons move in with his brother Joe. They start rustling cattle and then kill Rod's father with Joe's gun. The Sheriff and Rod think they did it and are after proof.
- Dyer is buying ranches and then retrieving his check by having his gang kill the owner. Bob Worth arrives just as Buck Morton is killed and gets blamed for the murder.
- The man that framed Tom Lansing's father for murder is at a ghost town where no one is allowed in or out. Tom gets in by posing as an escaping outlaw with his sidekick Banty posing as the Sheriff that is chasing him. Tom learns that the boss Cramer is the man he is after but there is trouble when Banty later gets caught. Cramer holds a kangaroo court planning to kill Banty if he doesn't tell who his confederate is.
- A dying Marshal gives Tom his identification papers to Tom. After Tom arrives in town, the papers drop and are found during a fight, so Tom decides to assume the Marshal's identity. Chief Mason now sends Rattler, the Marshal's killer, to follow up by killing Tom. But when he overhears that Tom is a fake, they change their plans and go to arrest Tom for Marshal's murder.
- Gary Gray arrives only to be caught up in the rustling activities of Ben Holt and his gang. First Holt brands him for rustling and then frames him for murder. Proven innocent, Gary foils the gang's stage holdup and then heads after Holt whom he now knows to be the real killer. But Holt knows he is coming and waits unseen in ambush.
- Summoned by Ed Oliver, Jim Hale and sidekick Fuzz arrive at Oliver's ranch to find a range war in progress. Unknown to Jim, Ed Brady has kidnapped Oliver and replaced him with a stooge. Brady is after the Green ranch and Jim and Fuzz now set out to help Helen Green.
- Jim Malloy, known far and wide as "Trigger" because of his fast draw and deadly shooting ability, is being released from prison after serving time on a framed-up charge, is met by his kid brother who brings him his horse Black King and his guns. The brother says he has joined an outlaw gang, but Jim whips him and sends him home to take care of their mother. Jim rides off and goes to the town where the man who framed him is and shoots him. He then joins a gang of bank robbers and is in town casing the job when the Bar X boys, who have the town terrorized, ride in and Jim shoots the foreman, but is shot in the back on his way out of the saloon. He is taken to the express office where he is treated by Janet, who runs the office since her husband was killed. Janet's daughter, Mary Jane, worships the slow-recovering Malloy, who is offered the job of sheriff to replace the one killed by the Bar X boys. This suits him as he will now be in charge of guarding the money he came to town to steal. But the love of a good woman, a small child and an ugly horse leads him to reformation, a project that also includes gunning down Wild Bill Holman.
- Good-natured troublemaker "Cyclone" Tom Saunders is hired by a ranchers' association manager to investigate recent cattle rustling at one of their ranches and to see if a pair of nesters have anything to do with it. After discovering the nesters, pretty Betty Powell and her rickety old father, are incapable of rustling, Tom instead turns his attention to the huge, swaggering bully of a foreman, Nate Lenox.
- Ted Warren returns from WW1 to find that everyone thinks he was dead. The culprit is Kent who intercepted his mail, rustled the Warren cattle, took over the Warren ranch, and is now after Ted's girl friend. When Kent's henchmen fail to kill Ted, Kent shoots Ted's father and leaves him for dead. But only wounded, the plan is to have Warren appear as a ghost to get a confession from Kent.
- Billy Donovan arrives looking for his sister's killer. When he hires on at the Halloran ranch where the mysterious Phantom has killed all the hands, it's not long before the Phantom shoots him.
- Jimmy Dixon, pursued by a band of Mexicans, changes clothes with a tramp, who takes off on his horse. Four miles later, Jimmy walks onto the Double-O Ranch, from which he had been thrown off four years before by his dad, who had blamed Jimmy for something that his twin brother Duke had done. Duke, home from college, took over the ranch when Mr. Dixon became ill, and has run it into the ground. When Duke goes to the bank to repay a debt to Jimmy, he rides onto Phoenix with all of the ranch money. Jimmy, forced to pose as his brother, runs into Duke's fiancée, Jean Adams and a Phoenix girl friend, then has to fight Swede over a dancer. Jimmy learns that gambler Regan and Duke plan to steal the Double-O herd along with the cattle they're already rustled from neighboring ranches. Duke tips Regan about Jimmy, who is nearly killed. Remorseful, Duke joins Jimmy in the showdown against the rustlers and dies protecting his father.
- Insurance Agent Ted Sanders has been called in to investigate a robbery and murder. A deputy also arrives to investigate. But unknown to Ted, the Deputy is a fake and actually part of the gang. The fake plants some of the money in Ted's room so he can arrest him. Then with the help of the gang he plans to finish Ted off.
- Intent on avenging his father's murder, Roy Neal and his sidekick Rusty find themselves in the border town of Gladstone where Neal is mistakenly arrested for the robbery of a mail truck. After escaping, Neal joins up with pretty June Bowers whose father has apparently also been murdered. Neal, suspecting two of the town's leading businessmen of being the murderers, tries to flush them out before the sheriff can lock him up again.
- Jack rides into trouble when he meets up with Bill Meeker and his outlaw gang. Rescued from the gang's clutches by Don carlos, he joins forces with Carlos and with the help of Lolita who learns of the gang's next raid, they go after the culprits.
- When Crenshaw kills a bushwhacker he takes his letter of introduction. This letter saves him from hanging when Stanton thinks he is the outlaw he has hired. But Crenshaw is in more trouble when Denton arrives and exposes him as a fake.
- Hoss Martin befriends Chuck Willis, a war veteran long separated from his mother. They arrive at the old home to find Gabe Lawrence posing as the son. Gabe is scheming with Luke Steele to deprive the mother of the ranch, but Hoss shows them up, installs his friend in his proper place, and wins the love of sister Elizabeth.
- Steve McKay is released from prison when accused of killing Jim Sharp, father of his sweetheart. He proceeds to track down the real murderer, Black Bart, follows him through Montana and New Mexico into Arizona. He makes Bart prisoner but he escapes and kidnaps Ruth. Steve rescues the girl and Bart meets death over a cliff. Ruth accepts Steve when his innocence is proved beyond a doubt.
- A murdered businessman's daughter is shipwrecked on a jungle island with the son of the man who killed her father. Both are threatened by a smuggling ring that uses the island as its headquarters.
- Bolton has organized a feud between the Rork's and the O'Neil's. He has rustled cattle and killed a man putting the blame on Danny O'Neil. Tom Rork has found a bullet with markings on it that he hopes will clear Danny.
- The famous western fiction writer Bob Morris arrives at the Henderson ranch. He quickly realizes the hanging, runaway horses, and the shootout are fakes for his benefit. But when a real robbery takes place he thinks it's another fake.
