The film takes us on a dramatic and eventful journey that starts in Nepal and finishes in Pakistan while exploring the mind and soul of a devoted mountaineer.
- Jean-Christophe Lafaille is the first mountaineer to attempt a solo ascent of the the steep Himalayan face of the "Shishapangma". As one of the 14 highest summits in the world the Shishapangma's summit is more than 8000 meters high. Jean-Christophe is challenging the unforgiving conditions of the Himalayan winter. Deprived of oxygen and exposed to extreme cold, Jean-Christophe is well aware of the danger but is determined to prove he is capable of achieving this long-held dream.
- Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain in the world and is considered the most dangerous to climb. After 3 unsuccessful attempts to reach its summit, French Alpinist, Jean-Christophe Lafaille, tries once more. His wife, Katia, follows worried from the base camp.
