- Life aboard an old steamer that still ferries people and goods up and down the shores of Lake Tanganyika. The star of the film is an old boat called The Liemba. It is now over 100 years old but still chugs up and down Tanzania's western coast. In 1913 it was built in Papenburg just west of Bremen and was then disassembled and shipped, in kit form, to Dar Es Salaam, in what was then German East Africa. The pieces made their way by rail to the lake and the boat was reassembled. This film is in the same class as Fred Wiseman's early work as it takes us on board this creaking ferry which becomes a metaphor for Africa itself. The long-distance traveler is sometimes criticized for 'just passing through' but this film will have you on board the Liemba full time, and you'll be there for the whole voyage.

Deprived of oxygen and exposed to extreme cold, Jean-Christophe is well aware of the danger but is determined to prove he is capable of achieving this long-held dream.
- Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain in the world and is considered the most dangerous to climb. After 3 unsuccessful attempts to reach its summit, French Alpinist, Jean-Christophe Lafaille, tries once more. His wife, Katia, follows worried from the base camp.
- In October 2018 a far-right candidate, Jair Bolsonaro, won the presidential election in Brazil, , my country of birth, the country where I spent part of my childhood and part of my adolescence. This country - which in the sixties experienced a dictatorship - is now dealing with extremism again. When I heard the election result, I thought of my sister and my friends living in Fortaleza. I gathered a few memories and felt nostalgic for the possible future promised by the years of the return to democracy.
