- An orphan named Oliver Twist meets a pickpocket on the streets of London. From there, he joins a household of boys who are trained to steal for their master.
- Nello saves the life of a dog but returns home to find his grandfather dead. Living under a haystack, he enters a drawing contest and wins the prize and the affections of a fellow artist, who adopts him.
- Timothy and Max are partners in the junk business. They take poor young Mary in as a boarder. Mary gets a job in Nathan's office and falls in love with him, but his mother feels she is beneath Nathan. Jackie's father, who was a pupil of the old musician, returns from a world tour. Jackie succeeds in bringing the two together, and when the old man dies, Savellle takes Jackie home with him. A picture of Jackie's mother brings out the fact that Jackie is Savelli's son, and all ends happily with Jackie and his father buying back the old farm for the Holdens.

Later, Danny is instrumental in saving a policeman's life and in sending the plumber to jail. He finds new happiness with his foster mother on her parents' farm.
