- Since her arrival in France in 1965 and her meeting with the group "Tel Quel", Julia Kristeva has continued to cross the stages that metamorphose a curious girl into accomplished intellectual. As a linguist, literature theorist, psychoanalyst and novelist, Julia Kristeva has emerged as a dominant figure in the French and international scene through her writings, her practice, her teaching, her positions in the theoretical field and social. It is part of a circle of living thought, at the end of several disciplines, in the company of leading personalities. The "Holberg Prize" which has been awarded to him (equivalent of the Nobel Prize for the social sciences) bears witness to his reputation. The film presents Julia Kristeva during some interviews, conducted in Paris, which allow to discover his thought. They accompany different sequences of her personal life: on the island of Ré, where she spends long moments in the company of her husband, the writer Philippe Sollers; in Bulgaria, where she returns in the footsteps of her childhood. Mixed with these sequences, other older images, often intimate, present Kristeva in his youth. These private archives are the secret continent of a busy public and intellectual life.
