Can Mizuki's boyfriend and a couple of well-meaning schoolchildren uncover the secret of what happened 19 years ago and free Mizuki before the last quarter of the moon falls?

Ryoichi searches for the cause of Kyoko's memory loss and gets help from childhood friend Maki Kawai, who is also Chiaki's assistant.

Such loyalty leads Domoto (heroine) to adopt Rosinante even if it does mean getting thrown out of his apartment building and having to live in the girl's dorm. "Dear Diary, the dogs broke out of the veterinary clinic again today . . .", you would think was written by a person. Well, the whole story is in fact told by a dog, Rosinante, one of the inhabitants of a university veterinary clinic. Chief among his writings is happy-go-lucky yet hapless vet student, Mukai Arata, who is at bliss with animals. The question is, can Arata get along with his peers and professors as well as he can with the animals he cares for?
- Akatsuka Detective Agency stands inconspicuously at Shimo Akatsuka in Tokyo's Itabashi ward, right above a small snack shop run by their landlord. Akatsuka's eccentric chief Kaze Kaoru founded it with her two investigators Goro and Gure in order to take on odd cases that others are reluctant to do anything about. Their motto is "to be compassionate and meddlesome", which leads them to get involved in strange situations with their clients. Sometimes they're motivated by the potential to sell a sensational story to the press, but sometimes they end up working pro bono. They may be rough around the edges and always a little short on rent, but they always find a creative solution by diving into the mystery with their hearts even when they aren't sure if they'll succeed. They're joined by the Ranko, who first comes to them as a client, and other friends they meet along the way.
- Bakushu is an adviser in the "Clean Break Helpline" - a special unit in the Organized Crime Department at Tokyo Metropolitan Police which helps those who want to make a clean break from a gang group. He is the leader of a gang group under the umbrella of a designated organized crime group "Kanto Kifune Gumi", and claims that he already made an apology to the boss of Kanto Kifune Gumi, Tachibana Isao. The client says that his group has got in trouble because of Bakushu.
