Doctor Henderson Edgar Buchanan, noted for his philanthropies to the local miners, advises Foss he can't run his horse for some time to come, and Foss takes a job with Jeannie, hauling water to Squatter's Flats, a desert waste which requires irrigation. Later, Zeke, carrying gold from Last Dog Ditch Mine to Silverado is robbed by a mysterious bandit called The Monk, and he suspects Foss. To clear himself, Foss suggests both stages take the next gold shipment and see who gets robbed and who doesn't. This strikes all-concerned as a good idea. But it turns out otherwise.

Mr. Barnes dies and leaves everything to Linda but he has urged his partner, Alexander Duncan, to plan things so that Jimmy and Linda will get married. Coached by Duncan, Linda accepts the inheritance and announces that she is departing for New York on a wild spending spree. He tells Jimmy that the will can be broken but only after many months and he suggests that Jimmy follow Linda and curb her spending or there won't be any money left. In New York, Linda hires Jimmy as her private secretary. Connie also arrives in New York, as does the ingenious Baron Rene de Montigny with the intention of marrying the wealthy Miss Gray. Linda keeps Jimmy so busy he can't see Connie, while she, to make Jimmy jealous, starts dating Rene. When Rene proposes, she tells him she has no money and he says he couldn't marry a poor girl but will coach her into how to catch Jimmy. The latter, now jealous, rushes to Linda's apartment and attacks Rene who, being the amateur prize fighter champion of France, knocks him out.

The man dies and Ordway discovers that what he thought was insulin was really poison. Oops! Two other people are murdered before Ordway discovers who replaced the insulin with poison and what the motive was.

He does not realize that he has been recognized as a G-Man by "Hot Cake" Joe, operator of a sandwich stand and an informant for the smugglers. Reporter Nancy Rawlings, assigned to the airport on the American side of the border, sees Mike running the matrimonial express in his flamboyant uniform, and thinks he is ridiculous enough to make a good story. Her suspicions are aroused when he refuses to be photographed. She is further convinced he is a smuggler when she sees him accepting money from Kurt Feldon, suspected head of the smugglers. Feldon has accepted Mike as a genuine pilot for wedding parties and is paying him to steer customers to his café. Learning the truth from Joe, Feldon orders his henchman/flyer Blast Reardon to get rid of Mike. Blast, with a gang moll as his accomplice, charters Mike to fly them across the border to get married. A waitress at the airport, who Nancy has bribed to watch Mike's activities, tips her off about the flight and Nancy hides in the plane. Once in the air, Blast forces Mike to land at the smuggler's hideout, where he is imprisoned.

But Arabs surround Savitt and his men, and the mutineers, knowing that to leave the fort and aid them means their own death...
