- How your brain makes up more than 90% of what you see, how simple illusions can fool our senses, and why evolution made you this way.
- Math is eerily good at describing our universe. Stock market analysts use it to predict the next market crash, neurobiologists use it to construct models of the brain, and physicists use it to get rockets to the moon. Our universe appears to be written in the language of mathematics... We've become so accustomed to this that we often forget to ask, why? Is our universe inherently mathematical? Or is math a creation of the human mind? A tool to help us make sense of our surroundings? Put simply, is math discovered or invented? This video will explore this question through an analysis of different mathematical fields. It will then go on to talk about the human instinct to categorize our universe in order to understand it, and the mysterious and wonderful nature of mathematics.
- Your challenge is: given five cards choose one and figure out how to arrange the other four to signal to a friend which card you have.
