- 11-year-old Michi lives in a children's home, every day fighting to win the respect of the other kids, till the day he finds his real dad, Tom - who happens to be a dwarf, even shorter than Michi is, the opposite of his idea of manliness and strength. When the kids find out, Michi's life becomes hell and he flees. With nowhere to go, he moves in with Tom, who is new to this fatherhood thing, while Michi tried to hide his embarrassment and shame from his fellow school kids. This forces Tom, who had coped well till now, to confront his handicap head on. As time passes, they discover they have more in common than other sons and fathers, until their relationship is again suddenly put to the hard test...

Both were master of their trades, with their their deep musicality, their technique and impressive skills to improvise. The story reveals two remarkable biographies, enormous parallels and differences how to manage their way of life on stage and in reality. The cinema movie entails the uniqueness of the protagonists relationship and focuses on the peerless life's path of the artists: colourful, intense, varied, with humorous moments, and deeply engaging for the audience. With the dense interviews of close companions, family members and friends the film creates a great cinematic and musical experience combined with legendary archive, concert moods and recording footage. --- An homage to Roger Cicero and his father Eugen - two exceptional musicians who died too young, but left behind an inimitable musical legacy. Piano player Eugen Cicero was considered a wunderkind. But he had problems with the communist regime in his home country early on in his career. During a tour to East Berlin in the 1960s, he fled to West Germany, where he played with the RIAS orchestra and many of the era's jazz greats. His son Roger became one of Germany's best known singers. Father and son both had extraordinary music careers, both of which ended in similar tragedies. Their life stories were marked by genius coupled with passion, by surmounting obstacles, and by a balancing act between commercial success and artistic integrity. In this film, friends and colleagues give insights in the two's work and creativity. It is a portrait of special father-son relationship, accentuated with their sublime concert moments, musical cosmos and their bright personalities they left behind. --- Eugen Cicero played with fabled singers as Shirley Bassey, Ella Fitzgerald, Caterina Valente, or legend Oscar Peterson and many more exceptional musicians. He recorded at the MPS studios with tremendous success. His son Roger created sensational concerts in his career i.a. at Montreux Jazz Festival.
