- In More Tales of the Desert, Gus flies two rare Kalahari black-manned lions into his Tswalu Reserve. Then there's the endangered rhino and cheetah that have to be captured and checked for disease. Finally, he searches for the two lions he flew in earlier and discovers them with cubs, healthy and hungry. Originally aired on Discovery, Animal Planet, PBS and 15 international networks.
- In Tales of the Desert, Gus is hired to run the Tswalu Kalahari Reserve, the newest, largest, private wildlife reserve in all Southern Africa. His job is to "return the Kalahari to itself" by reintroducing indigenous wildlife. Among the animals are endangered cheetah, rhino, wild dogs and sable antelope. Originally aired on Discovery, Animal Planet, PBS and 15 international networks.
- African wildlife reserves sell themselves as sanctuaries where animals roam free, safe from human interference. In fact, they're managed like giant ranches - with lions as supervisors.
