- The island of Røst is a paradise for sheep. Despite its location north of the Arctic circle, the climate is influenced by the Golf Stream and the sheep can graze outside all year round. Juicy grass and traditional herbs give the meat a delicious flavor and now Kari-Anne wants to make black pudding cooked in the stomach of a sheep. Neighbour and fellow sheep farmer Torill is the chief taster and invites to a game of radio bingo.
- In addition to her sheep, Kari-Anne has decided to take up an old tradition and start fishing to supplement her income. Finally the cod has arrived and with her own fishing boat and with the help of experienced fisher man Steinar, Kari-Anne is now ready to earn a good wage as a fisher woman. But her new boat is very small and the ocean is big, things don't exactly go to plan.
- Fishing is big business on the small island of Røst and trawlers brimming with fish arrive on the quayside every day. Kari-Anne's first foray into fishing has not been so successful, but the sheep farmer has no time for regrets. She's busy presenting the local radio show, making fish cakes and tending to her beloved sheep.
- It is almost Christmas and Kari-Anne is busier than ever. The sheep get extra treats while the farmer has to take the ferry to the mainland in order to get hold of a Christmas tree. Kari-Anne is planning a Christmas market in a house with no electricity and when the wood-fired oven refuses to play ball all her Christmas treats end up burned. Will she be able to finish everything in time for a candle-lit peaceful Christmas?
