The serial explores challenges of life in remote Mediterranean villages, small cities and regions with limited economical opportunities, especially in the recent circumstances of huge immigration waves, political and economic crisis that hit this area of the world. The development of tourism and hotel industry, thousands of seasonal visitors and activities make Mediterranean coasts attractive, overcrowded and full of life in the summer, while in winter only few local people remain on its silent, desert coasts that still are a long dreamed destination for many refugees seeking safety and peace. Through life stories of protagonists, hotel and restaurant owners, boat captains, olive oil and wine producers, fishermen, but also photographers, doctors, lighthouse men and sea rescuers we find out about their passion and dedication to life by the sea, finding ways of enduring all the disadvantages and using all the advantages that the modern Mediterranean offers.
