- Comedienne Maggie falls for musician Al Cassidy. They get married, Al becomes a songwriter and Maggie a housewife. Al is hired to write a number for one of the Follies' most beautiful stars and falls for her. Complications ensue.

- A young woman marries the wastrel son of a British aristocrat. Her husband, who has been disinherited by his father, loses what little money he has left gambling in casinos and then dies, leaving her penniless and with an infant son. When her former father-in-law tries to get custody of the child, she leaves him with a couple she trusts, but when she later goes to reclaim her son, she can't find the people she left him with.

Fely grows up without knowing her sister and becomes a dancer in Tony Pastor's theater. Dirk De Rhondo, Anne's stepbrother, is attracted to Fely, and after protecting her during the great Orangemen's riot falls in love with her. She consents to his proposal but later retracts when Dirk's father dispossesses her family. Fely's father, however, becomes wealthy when his investment in Edison's incandescent light pays off, but Dirk's father is ruined. Fely saves De Rhondo's bank from a run by making a large deposit, thus winning over Dirk's family and paving the way for their marriage.
- Achmet Bey, a Turkish chieftain, catches one of his many wives in adultery and murders her lover. Throwing aside the cuckolding wife, he abducts his harem an innocent girl. However, a brave American who loves her comes to her rescue.
- Mamie, an orphan girl who was abused in the orphanage, is taken in by Mrs. Caldwell, a kind woman with a young son named Alexander. Mamie hits it off with the lad and nicknames him "Zander". When Mrs. Caldwell dies, the authorities decree that the boy must be placed in the same orphanage where Mamie was mistreated. Horrified, Mamie determines to ensure that the boy will be spared the same treatment that she had to suffer.
- Larry, apparently a wealthy young man-about-town, romances Vera, who has developed a new invention, a gas mask, for use in the war. Larry leaves Vera's house unaware that German spies are attempting to steal the plans for her invention. At a restaurant, Larry turns out not to be wealthy, but simply one of the waiters. When Vera and her father arrive at the restaurant, they are shocked to see Larry working there, but even more shocked when the restaurant owner turns out to be the ringleader of the gang of spies. The gang attempts to steal the plans, with only Larry to rescue both the papers and Vera.
- After falling in love with a courtesan, Rikiya is blinded by ash during a fight in a brothel. Believing the blindness permanent and his opponent dead, Rikiya goes back home to his sister. Okiku, desperate to protect her brother who thinks himself a murderer, wants to sacrifice herself for him and become a prostitute to pay for Rikiya's treatment.
- The White Moth is a 1924 silent film drama produced and directed by Maurice Tourneur and distributed by First National Pictures. Barbara La Marr was the female lead supported by young Ben Lyon. This film survives at the Library of Congress, Museum of Modern Art and Gosfilmofond Moscow.
- Mary Maddock becomes a seamstress after her husband Steve wastes their money on booze. Her employer provides her as an escort to accompany millionaire Mallory. Her husband tries blackmailing Mallory and is later killed by his accomplice, leaving Mary free to wed the millionaire.

- After 40 years of struggle on the Wyoming frontier, a woman reflects on her hardscrabble life with her unfaithful husband.
- When Joe, a hold-up man, tries to rob Mary, a nightclub hostess, she winds winds up knocking him out. She takes pity on him, however, and nurses him back to health. He decides to go straight and marry her. Mary buys a $1000 Liberty Bond as an investment, while Joe saves up and buys a taxi to start his own business. Then Maisie, Mary's wild and money-crazy sister, shows up, which leads to tragedy.
- A young girl looking for work, is hired by a farmer's wife to work as a maid. A smooth talking peddler comes by the farm, and flirts with the young maid. He gives the naive girl an engagement ring and promises to marry her. When the peddler runs up some gambling debts, he visits the maid again and tells her they cannot marry until he has enough money to pay off his debt. While the farmer and his wife are asleep, the maid foolishly steals their money. The peddler takes the money and leaves on a train to get out of town. Overcome with guilt, the young maid runs away from the farm. Meanwhile the peddler gets into a fight and is thrown off the train. The maid stumbles upon him by the railroad tracks. She finds the money on the peddler and returns it to the farm couple before they even knew it was missing.
- A bargeman, his wife and sister-in-law navigate the canals of northern Belgium in their two vessels, the eponymous "L'Hirondelle et la Mésange," taking the time to appreciate the sites and landscapes they encounter along their way. Like many in his trade, the mariner supplements his income by transporting occasional contraband. The tranquil rhythms of their nautical lives are interrupted, however, when they hire an ambitious new pilot.
- Ottilie Van Zandt, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy colonel, loves the gardener's son, Richard Wayne, but her family forces her to marry her cousin Claude. Richard leaves before the wedding, vowing to return wealthy and marry Ottilie, but since she is already married when he does return, he impulsively marries Alice Tremaine. Years later, to save lonely widow Ottilie from being evicted, Richard purchases her house at auction and gives it to her. Two generations later, Ottilie, the granddaughter of the first Ottilie, lives in the old house and teaches dancing. Richard Wayne, grandson of the first Richard, is a wealthy young man of the jazz set who thinks of Ottilie as a little old-fashioned but has affection for her. Their friendship culminates in a romance and marriage that began years before with their grandparents.
- Note: Contains Spoilers The story, set in Russia at the time of the Bolshevik Revolution, focuses on the relationship between three characters: Tasia (Dolores del Rio), a peasant girl; Grand Duke Eugene (Charles Farrell); and Ivan Petroff (Ivan Linow). Tasia has revolutionary sentiments which are strengthened by seeing the suffering of her father imprisoned by the Czarist authorities. She attracts the attention of Ivan Petroff, but evades an arranged marriage with him, to the relief of both (Ivan, hung over from prenuptial celebrations, misses the ceremony). While revolutionary agents stir up class hatred among the populace, Tasia meets Grand Duke Eugene, a nobleman who genuinely wishes to address the problems of the people. They fall in love, aware of the great social gulf dividing them (Eugene is betrothed to a noblewoman). The revolution begins (the "Red Dance" is described in an intertitle as the name for a bloody and irresponsible movement to grab power by revolutionaries not equipped to wield power), and the three main characters are separated. Tasia is courted by the revolution to assassinate a nobleman: having just witnessed the death of her father after his imprisonment by the Czarist authorities, she accepts the mission without knowing the identity of the victim. Her target is Grand Duke Eugene, and the day chosen is his wedding day. Her attempt fails, however, and she is sent into hiding. The story moves ahead a few years. Ivan has become a general in the revolutionary army, and Tasia is a dancer in a nightclub. Ivan and Tasia meet at the nightclub for the first time since their separation; he continues to love her, but also learns that Tasia loves Eugene. The revolutionary forces agree in a meeting that Eugene must be killed: Ivan, mad with jealousy about Tasia's love for the Grand Duke, accepts the assignment in her hearing. Tasia leaves to warn Eugene: Ivan follows closely behind. At the inn where Eugene is staying, Tasia tries to prevent Ivan from arresting Eugene, but Ivan protests that he is trying to protect him. However, Eugene is led off to execution by Ivan, where a firing squad apparently shoots him. The execution is simulated, however, and Ivan has indeed protected Eugene. Ivan's final act of generosity is to usher Eugene and Tasia to a waiting plane, within which they escape Russia for western Europe.
- On a visit to the city of Boston, a village girl is taken advantage of by a man there and returns home feeling sullied and ashamed. A young man who had once sought her hand returns from years away in Europe and reiterates his suit. She returns his love and agrees to marry him, but has difficulty telling him the truth about her misadventure. When she finally does, his response seems to doom the pair to tragedy.
