- ShortAs the Vietnam War heats up, two sons of a widowed Southern Farmer choose divergent paths: the older son enlists, trains and fights overseas while the younger son dodges the draft by running to Canada, scraping by however he can. - An ancient battle between Berserker's and Elves takes place in a bid to stop a prophecy of a child being born who could wipe out the warring Berserker rule over the lands. The war-mongering Sollvud had no intention of letting his clan be infiltrated by another race, fearing the ancient prophecy would come true, foretelling of a time when a mixed-race child would be born, who would bring forth a new era and wipe out his people from rule and power. He also wanted to take the Berserker throne. So Sollvud betrayed his brother Bozgard, overthrowing him as Berserker Chief and starting a war with Trineth the Elven princess that Bozgard had fallen in love with. Sollvud's son's, Magure and Hammand watch as he kills her during battle. Some time after, Sollvud finds out that Hammand has fallen in love with a human Oyun (shaman) called Arya. He orders Magure to kill his own brother to stop the prophecy from being fulfilled. Magure swears he will and finds his brother and Arya in a camp surrounded by wolves. But he falters when he sees they have a baby... Azmur. The more peaceful Hammand confronts his brother, knowing why he's come. Magure decides to stay true to Berserker law and attacks. He uses his tribal scarification magic to change into his spirit beast, the Great Bear, and kills Hammand before he can use his own spirit beast, the Dragon. But Hammand's soul rises above as the dragon and flies off, ready to return in the future. Arya defends her son and attacks the Great Bear with her shaman powers. She curses Magure to live as a bear forever, stopping him from returning to his Berserker body. But the animal is too much for Arya... she's mortally wounded. Just as her soul leaves, she merges with the white wolf who watches from the forest, to become Azmur's animal companion and protector. The cursed Great Bear wanders away, wounded. In the forest, Usue - a human and sister to Arya, finds the baby with the white wolf and takes him away to her village... knowing one day he will be the one to fulfil the prophecy. But his blood is mixed with Berserker war and Oyun peace... will he choose wisely when the time comes to go on his Oyun's Quest?
