- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsJeff BridgesKaren AllenCharles Martin SmithAn alien takes the form of a young Wisconsin widow's husband and makes her drive him to his departure point in Arizona. Distrustful government agents, along with a more ambivalent scientist, give pursuit in hopes of intercepting them. This has got to be the number 1. It's just so full of soul and the most down-to-earth perspective from an alien on life as a human, well a westernized human anyway... But it really makes you look at the world in a different way, and I found it fun to walk around imitating the alien and looking at the world like a sentient being. This film just cements the truth that our world is weird and wonderful place to live in and we gotta appreciate that. It's just a film that's gotta be on your viewing checklist because life is too short.
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsKurt RussellShelley WintersBing RussellBiographical movie about the famous rock singer Elvis Presley. There is a bit of Elvis in us all! Especially in Kurt Russell in this movie. Something full of fire that transcends his performance, when you take into account the historical weight of his role, it's enough to lift your spirits. I watched this recently so it's still fresh in my mind, but it's a visually vivid film, full of bright colours, crazy kids and emotional highs the screen that raise hairs... not easy to forget. Mighty highs and painful lows they are. it's a hell of a ride, and J.C.'s second best movie yet
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsRoddy PiperKeith DavidMeg FosterThey influence our decisions without us knowing it. They numb our senses without us feeling it. They control our lives without us realizing it. They live. It's so sharp, with the one-liners, the quips, the characters, the humor, the social commentary, the anarchy, the rebellion, the story, everything about this is sharp and to the point. It's another film that tells us to think more about life and the choices we make in the name of freedom. Do we really believe in freedom? or are we just following the rest hoping we're doing the right thing?? These are the questions They Live poses, and it's such an awesome film is one of my favorites of all time, it's something special you can just watch over and over again. Don't waste time, WATCH IT!!!! OBEY!!!!
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsSam NeillJürgen ProchnowJulie CarmenAn insurance investigator begins discovering that the impact a horror writer's books have on his fans is more than inspirational. This film is where J.C. took a screeching U turn back into horror after a period in the late 80s/early 90s where he proved he was not just a scare mongering monster-master, but that he was actually a versatile, tallented film-maker! Okay Okay John, now we know how great you are, let's have some more horror please!!! So here it is, IMO his best horror film. Madness by name, madness by nature. Very loosely based on an H.P. Lovecraft tale of terror, this film is really messed up, it is genuinely scary as well as having a laugh a minute, this is a real head trip. Thanks J.C. you really creeped me out...

- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsKurt RussellWilford BrimleyKeith DavidA research team in Antarctica is hunted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of its victims.
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsKurt RussellSteve BuscemiStacy KeachSnake Plissken is once again called in by the United States government to recover a potential doomsday device from Los Angeles, now an autonomous island where undesirables are deported.I actually rate this one better than Escape From N.Y. It's a really funny film filled with so much tongue in cheek humour. The many cameos from all those great actors are a great touch. At the end of the day it's a film that's just easy to love. It's also badass
