- CreatorRachel BloomAline Brosh McKennaStarsRachel BloomDonna Lynne ChamplinVincent Rodriguez IIIA young woman abandons a choice job at a law firm and her life in New York in an attempt to find happiness in the unlikely locale of West Covina, California. The wittiest, odd-ball hour-long comedy I've seen in a long time! Hilarious. Rachel Bloom is amazing!
- CreatorZander LehmannStarsMichaela WatkinsTommy DeweyTara Lynne BarrA comedy series about a bachelor brother and his newly divorced sister living under one roof again. Together, they coach each other through the crazy world of dating while raising her teenage daughter.I respect where Hulu is going with its original programing and this show has a vaguely familiar, yet refreshingly new take on whole "dating while raising a modern family" vibe. Love the cast, Michaela Watkins in a more dramatic role is right up my alley.
- CreatorIan BrennanBrad FalchukRyan MurphyStarsEmma RobertsLea MicheleAbigail BreslinA semi-anthology series that centers on characters being terrorized by a serial killer in different locations, including a university and a hospital."Queens of Camp" would also work as a title. If you're not into that sort of thing or Ryan Murphy's particular brand of humor, your time may be better spent elsewhere... This show is rife with pop culture commentary and satire, that alone warrants its respect but it is all in good fun.
- CreatorTodd HarthanStarsMorris ChestnutJaina Lee OrtizGabrielle DennisMiami pathologist Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. finds secrets in people's bodies using his state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.I've missed Morris Chestnut and this quasi-Dexter concept hooked me from the beginning. It is much less a crime procedural and more an intricate/interpersonal drama with a dash of impeding doom, I'm here for it.
- CreatorDaniel ChunStarsJohn StamosPaget BrewsterJosh PeckA confirmed bachelor discovers he's a dad--and a grandfather.Uncle Jesse & Agent Prentiss as long lost lovers is a concept I can get behind, the two are great together. Add Josh Peck and Christina Milan, who are surprising great together as well, and the whole thing rocks like when the Rippers got rid of the their Prima Donna lead singer. I'm almost certain there will be a musical number before the season's over and I'm fine with that.
- CreatorJustin AdlerStarsColin HanksBetsy BrandtThomas SadoskiA family comedy told through the separate stories of different family members. It took me a while to get into this one, thinking it was a whitewashed rip off of Modern Family, but I've since come around. Clearly the cast is magical, but each of the individual dynamics is equally entertaining. This formula works, but the ensemble is what I think will keep this one around for a few seasons.
- CreatorJohn FoxKen JeongJared SternStarsKen JeongSuzy NakamuraTisha CampbellA frustrated doctor juggles his career, marriage, and family.Kind of reminds me of the George Lopez show, its basically Ken's life and its good for few laughs. It is odd that its airs on Fridays but hopefully that will change.
- CreatorDJ NashStarsMark-Paul GosselaarTone BellVanessa LacheyA look at the life of two best friends, a meek politically correct Caucasian ethics professor and an easy-going African American, and their families.I just like Tone Bell ... and Zach Morris. Nostalgia is big with me, and after Whitney/Bad Teacher I just want one of Tone's shows to work out. I also like the couples' dynamic, in years past they've done this with three couples so one gets polarized/trivialized/stereotyped and I'm not seeing that here. I like it but the same is true here with Dr. Ken, it premiered on a Friday...
