The husband and daughter will survive but there is little hope for the woman. The drunk driver is also brought in suffering from only a few scratches.

Benton forgets that he was supposed to sit with his mother while his sister and brother-in-law were to go out for their tenth anniversary dinner.

Doug Ross treats a young girl suffering from severe asthma but whose mother can't afford her medication. Benton treats Ivan the liquor store owner who is shot for the third time in as many weeks.

Benton learns the result of the fellowship he applied for and his mother shows up in the ER with a sprained ankle. Carol Hathaway treats a patient who was raped. A new ER aide, Bob, start work.

Carter has to treat a transgender woman who has now reached an age where she can no longer pass as a woman. Carter's indifference is the final straw. Susan Lewis continues to worry about Div Cvetic, whose condition seems to be worsening.

There Roger (the pitcher) notices how pretty Al is without her catchers mask on so he asked her to dance. Of course, she doesn't and tells him off for being such a jerk.
