- With drums beating and colors flying the gay Italian regiment marches down to the wharves to be transported to Tripoli, Colonel Sandor is in command and he directs affairs with rare Judgment and ability. He is closely attended by Tony, his faithful servant who has been instructed by Claretta, the Colonel's little daughter, to "take good care of father." Under escort of the fleet, the expedition arrives at the seat of war, and great excitement prevails during the disembarkation of the troops, the erection of tents, and the general preparation for active campaigning. The film subsequently shows several scenes of the conflict; the skirmish; the swift charge of the Italian lancers; the troops behind their entrenchments pouring shot and shell into the ranks of the enemy; the arrival of reinforcements which inspire new courage into the hearts of the men; the forward movement of the infantry; the remarkable charge through the valley with many fierce encounters; and the final victory by the dislodgement of the Turkish forces from their position on the hill. After the battle, Colonel Sandor is highly congratulated, and in turn rewards Tony with a medal of honor, for he realizes that the fellow showed remarkable bravery, and even saved his life in one instance. When they return home, the Colonel and Tony receive a warm welcome from little Claretta, who is very proud of them both.

- DirectorAleksandr RazumnyjStarsKolya LeonovViktor BoikaTolya GorodulinEarly 40s, USSR. The plot of the picture is based on a story about schoolchildren who, like all their peers, love to play Cossack robbers and war games. The guys are divided into two teams, they arm themselves with everything they can - some even have water pistols - and fight under the warm summer sun. Each of them is a hero, until mom called for dinner. One day the South win, the next day the field remains for the North, and the game goes according to all the rules, with reconnaissance and captures of "tongues". But one day a big war comes to their yard - an insidious enemy attacked their homeland, violating all treaties and agreements. The boys cannot go to the front because they are still very young. But they become steadfast soldiers of another front, about which few people make films - labor, in the rear. The second part of the film will show us the daily life of those who were on duty on the roofs at night in anticipation of air raids, helping the families of older brothers and fathers who went to the front. Some became law enforcement officers in the rear instead of mobilized policemen, others worked assembling shells. The film was shot by director Alexander Razumny, also known for the film adaptation of Gaidar's story Timur and his team, and will be of interest to everyone who is fond of films of the war period. The tape was based on the story of the same name by Sergei Mikhalkov about the boys who helped the front in the rear. And even despite the fact that the film is over 70 years old, it looks fascinating even today, largely due to the camera work and the excellent acting of the guys, for whom the plot of the film was the surrounding reality.

- DirectorYasujirô OzuStarsChôko IidaHôhi AokiEitarô OzawaA young boy follows Tashiro home to his tenement housing complex on the outskirts of Tokyo, the boy who was separated from his carpenter father somehow and somewhere in Kudan. All Tashiro knows is that the boy and his father came to town from Chigasaki that morning. Despite Tashiro's want to house the kid until they decide what to do more permanently, Tashiro's roommate, Tamekichi, the tenement's head, won't let the kid stay, not liking children and not wanting to get involved. So Tashiro foists the kid onto their neighbor, the widowed Tane, who too protests, she also not liking children and not wanting to get involved. Tane treats the boy with disdain, which only increases by the next morning due to an overnight incident. Amongst the tenement residents, Tane is charged with going to Chigasaki to see if she can find the father or find out what happened to him. On that trip, what she learns by putting the pieces of the story together is that the father purposefully abandoned the boy as he went off to look for work. This news does not change Tane's outlook or poor treatment of the boy. Nothing changes as the week progresses, however Tane's outlook takes a one hundred eighty degree turn when there is the possibility that she may never see the boy again.
