- DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsAmy AdamsJeremy RennerForest WhitakerA linguist works with the military to communicate with alien lifeforms after twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world.Simply awesome! This is the kind of film that can leave you speechless for a time, but it's also undoubtedly extremely thought provoking. It's a stunning film. In fact I would go so far as to say that in my view this is likely the second best sci-fi film ever made, second only to Kubrick's 2001. The Oscar's totally missed the mark yet again. While much hyped directors like Aronofsky, Fincher and Nolan have all slipped down many notches in the last decade plus in terms of quality films(My view), Denis Villeneuve has quickly taken over as the greatest living director on the planet that didn't direct anything in the 1970's. All hail the great Villeneuve. 9.5/10
- DirectorMel GibsonStarsAndrew GarfieldSam WorthingtonLuke BraceyWorld War II American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, serving during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot.Faith can motivate people to do things that are beyond what is thought possible by most people, this is such a story. This film also sports some of the most realistically frightening and chaotic battle scenes in cinematic history. 8.5/10
- DirectorRichard LinklaterStarsBlake JennerTyler HoechlinRyan GuzmanIn 1980, a group of college baseball players navigate their way through the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood.Subtly it's deeper and more meaningful than Dazed. To me this is one of those rare sequels that actually matches or even surpasses its original. 8.5/10
- DirectorDavid MackenzieStarsChris PineBen FosterJeff BridgesToby is a divorced father who's trying to make a better life. His brother is an ex-con with a short temper and a loose trigger finger. Together, they plan a series of heists against the bank that's about to foreclose on their family ranch.A very well executed and relevant crime drama. In my view, a must see! 8/10
- DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsJonah HillMiles TellerSteve LantzLoosely based on the true story of two young men, David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who won a three hundred million dollar contract from the Pentagon to arm America's allies in Afghanistan.Actually more of a drama than a comedy, to me that was a bit of a surprise after watching the trailer. The film was overall much better than I thought it would be. For most people, this is worth a look for sure. 8/10
- DirectorTom FordStarsAmy AdamsJake GyllenhaalMichael ShannonA wealthy art gallery owner is haunted by her ex-husband's novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a symbolic revenge tale. The film is quite brilliant in some regards, but it does have its flaws in my view as well. 8/10
- DirectorVladek ZankovskyStarsIsrael Sasha DemidovIrina BarinovaHenry DavidMax finds himself in possession of an ancient scroll that describes the entire history of humankind from beginning to end. Seeking to use the information for his own gain, Max triggers the mechanism that begins influencing his own life. Not everyone will love this. Not everyone is open enough to even get into this film. However most open minded mystery and sci-fi lovers should at least like this film. If you're looking to just be entertained, don't watch this film. However, if you love thinking and looking at things in new ways, try it out.
If you liked Aronofsky's Pi, you'll most likely enjoy this as well. Though Pi is overall a far superior film. 8/10 - DirectorMike MillsStarsAnnette BeningElle FanningGreta GerwigThe story of a teenage boy, his mother, and two other women who help raise him among the love and freedom of Southern California of 1979.Annette Benning is a goddess. Need I say more? I try to watch all her films.
- DirectorOliver StoneStarsJoseph Gordon-LevittShailene WoodleyMelissa LeoThe NSA's illegal surveillance techniques are leaked to the public by one of the agency's employees, Edward Snowden, in the form of thousands of classified documents distributed to the press. The film hits the rights notes in my view, in that it makes us look and ask questions that need to be looked at in today's world. Stone can still make a good thrilling picture. I wasn't so sure after the fairly disappointing Savages. All this praise coming from a person who never even thought the Snowden reveal was all that big a deal. I mean in my view, most people with a reasonable level of intelligence already knew that we were all being watched to some degree. Proof of it however is now undeniable for sane people thanks to Snowden. Personally though, I'm not so sure that what he gave up was honestly worth it in the end. Undoubtedly though the man had decent ethics and with all that has happened to his life now, he certainly is a sympathetic person/character and this is a good and fitting film about the man and what he did. 8/10
- DirectorJohn HillcoatStarsCasey AffleckChiwetel EjioforAnthony MackieA gang of criminals and corrupt cops plan the murder of a police officer in order to pull off their biggest heist yet across town.A good, gritty and fast paced crime drama. The film is an ensemble piece with a very interesting look at big league modern day extortion. 7.5/10
- DirectorGavin O'ConnorStarsBen AffleckAnna KendrickJ.K. SimmonsAs a math savant uncooks the books for a new client, the Treasury Department closes in on his activities, and the body count starts to rise.A very well executed, fun and interesting action flick. It works partly because it has a decent dose of humor and heart as well. I thought this film might actually stink, but I also was open enough to give it a chance. After seeing it, it definitely impressed me. Honestly, I'd much rather watch this film again than any of the Bourne films. 7.5/10
- DirectorBen YoungStarsEmma BoothAshleigh CummingsStephen CurryVicki Maloney is randomly abducted from a suburban street by a disturbed couple. As she observes the dynamic between her captors she quickly realises she must drive a wedge between them if she is to survive. They recently changed on IMDb the listing from horror to thriller. It use to be listed as a crime, drama, horror, but now as crime, drama, thriller. However I would say that this is first and foremost a horror film, but not in any sense comparable to many of the gorefest films with nonsense stories that are shoveled out month after month these days. This is a realist type film revolving around the subject of kidnapping, and man did this pack a punch in my view. 2015's Room took home an Oscar or two I believe but honestly, I feel this similarly themed film was a far superior piece of cinema. The thing that makes this film great is that it feels so real. The characters, settings and scenarios all seem very authentic/plausible. That realism is what makes it truly a pretty horrifying film. This is a great achievement for a little known director, please, keep this kind of quality coming Sir. 7.5/10
- DirectorPeter BergStarsMark WahlbergKurt RussellDouglas M. GriffinA dramatization of the disaster in April 2010, when the offshore drilling rig called the Deepwater Horizon exploded, resulting in the worst oil spill in American history. This is very much like a microcosm of our entire capitalistic economy. Sooner or later, the whole thing will blow up if we don't come to our senses. In every economic endeavor within the capitalistic world, we see that the pressure to make profits eventually ends up pushing people to make choices they shouldn't be making. The bigger the company, there's often more risk and more dangers. 7.5/10
- DirectorM. Night ShyamalanStarsJames McAvoyAnya Taylor-JoyHaley Lu RichardsonThree girls are kidnapped by a man with a diagnosed 23 distinct personalities. They must try to escape before the apparent emergence of a frightful new 24th.I thought this director was entirely done as far as making good films goes, but this one proved me wrong. While this was far from a great film in my view and definitely had some flaws, overall it is nonetheless very interesting and entertaining. Without hesitation, I'd watch this film at least twice. 7.5/10
- DirectorNoah BuschelStarsJohnny SimmonsEthan HawkePaul GiamattiA rookie pitcher undergoes psychotherapy to overcome the yips.A very subtle, authentic feeling and intelligent film. Thankfully not your typical heroic Hollywood sports film. I feel the world doesn't really need too many of those, real sports delivers them enough for us to enjoy and be inspired by. In a film it can be far too predictable, however with real sports things are often hard to see coming. 7.5/10
- DirectorLuis Antonio RodriguezStarsYolanda AcevedoRocio AmayaLino AquinoWhenMexican immigrant Jesus Avila(Jorge A. Jimenez, Netflix Narcos) seeks a better life for his family in the United States, he boards the infamous "Train of Death" known as The Beast. His desperate journey to freedom is beset with corrupted Mexican law enforcements, vicious Mexican cartels and ruthless gangs. But as Jesus finally crosses the border into America he is faces with even more sinister threat, a demented Border Patrol Agent (Eduardo Sanchez, Misfire) who exploits innocent immigrants to quench his thirst for violence.Fairly low budget, but this film is well thought out and well put together. It's also brutal. This certainly isn't a Hollywood U.S. Mexican border film. This is much closer to the reality.
- DirectorPablo LarraínStarsGael García BernalLuis GneccoMercedes MoránAn inspector hunts down Nobel Prize-winning Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, who becomes a fugitive in his home country in the late 1940s for joining the Communist Party.
- DirectorJean-François RichetStarsMel GibsonErin MoriartyDiego LunaAn ex-con reunites with his estranged wayward 17-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her. There's nothing really new here, but yet the film does deliver very solid entertainment. If you like gritty action films, then you'll probably enjoy it. 7.5/10
- DirectorOlivier AssayasStarsKristen StewartLars EidingerSigrid BouazizA personal shopper in Paris refuses to leave the city until she makes contact with her twin brother who previously died there. Her life becomes more complicated when a mysterious person contacts her via text message.
- DirectorClint EastwoodStarsTom HanksAaron EckhartLaura LinneyWhen pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger lands his damaged plane on the Hudson River in order to save the flight's passengers and crew, some consider him a hero while others think he was reckless.Clint continues to make quality films. 7.5/10
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsBrad PittMarion CotillardJared HarrisIn 1942, a Canadian intelligence officer in North Africa encounters a female French Resistance fighter on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. When they reunite in London, their relationship is tested by the pressures of war.
- DirectorMatthew RossStarsMichael ShannonImogen PootsCarlos Moreno Jr.A psychosexual noir love story, set in Las Vegas and Paris, about love, obsession, sex, betrayal, revenge and, ultimately, the search for redemption.
- DirectorAndré ØvredalStarsBrian CoxEmile HirschOphelia LovibondA father and son, both coroners, are pulled into a complex mystery while attempting to identify the cause of death of a young woman who was apparently harboring dark secrets.
- DirectorÁrpád SopsitsStarsKároly HajdukGábor JászberényiZsolt AngerTrue story of a serial killer in 1950-60s Hungary.
- DirectorPaul VerhoevenStarsIsabelle HuppertLaurent LafitteAnne ConsignyA successful businesswoman gets caught up in a game of cat and mouse as she tracks down the unknown man who raped her.7/10
- DirectorJustin LinStarsChris PineZachary QuintoKarl UrbanThe crew of the USS Enterprise explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy, who puts them, and everything the Federation stands for, to the test.7/10
- DirectorShane BlackStarsRussell CroweRyan GoslingAngourie RiceIn 1970s Los Angeles, a mismatched pair of private eyes investigate a missing girl and the mysterious death of a porn star.Unpredictable and pretty funny at times. I feel it's a little overrated by some early reviewers, but it's definitely worth watching, if you're not easily offended that is. 7/10
- DirectorEwan McGregorStarsEwan McGregorJennifer ConnellyDakota FanningAn All-American college star and his beauty queen wife watch their seemingly perfect life fall apart as their daughter joins the turmoil of '60s America.Good if you don't overly compare it to the novel. The film only adapts part of the book, and is a much simpler story. Nonetheless, the film is very relevant and quite horrifying in its own right. 7/10
- DirectorTi WestStarsEthan HawkeJohn TravoltaTaissa FarmigaA mysterious stranger and a random act of violence drag a town of misfits and nitwits into the bloody crosshairs of revenge.A raw and funny western. I enjoyed it. A little bit of classic Clint Eastwood style western, mixed with some 90's style Tarantino. Here it worked pretty well. 7/10
- DirectorBrad FurmanStarsBryan CranstonJohn LeguizamoDiane KrugerA U.S. Customs official uncovers a money laundering scheme involving Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
- DirectorJeff NicholsStarsMichael ShannonJoel EdgertonKirsten DunstA father and son go on the run, pursued by the government and a cult drawn to the child's special powers.
- DirectorEdward ZwickStarsTom CruiseCobie SmuldersAldis HodgeJack Reacher must uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy in order to clear his name while on the run as a fugitive from the law.I honestly didn't mind either of the Reacher films. I enjoyed them to a decent degree. I feel they're mostly better than the Mission films really because at least they're fairly funny as well as packed full of action. Where most of the Mission films are fairly boring I feel, unless you really get a thrill out of watching Cruise jump around on different objects from mountains to skyscrapers to vehicles of all kinds. I actually contrary to the opinion of many thought this sequel was actually a bit better than the original Reacher film.
- DirectorMegan GriffithsStarsLou Diamond PhillipsBellamy YoungAnnalisa CochraneAn account of serial killer Richard Ramírez and his rampage in California during the mid-1980s.A fairly low budget Lifetime film, but surprisingly it actually is a pretty creative and intensely delivered story. Definitely worth a watch if you're into watching films about serial killers.
- DirectorAlexandros AvranasStarsJim CarreyMarton CsokasCharlotte GainsbourgA murder investigation of a slain businessman turns to clues found in an author's book about an eerily similar crime. Based on the 2008 article "True Crimes - A Postmodern Murder Mystery" by David Grann.Perhaps a film for a certain type of audience, as it seems most people did not like this film. I agree, it could have been done overall a lot better. However, I liked the film for the most part the way it is. 7/10
- DirectorPablo LarraínStarsNatalie PortmanPeter SarsgaardGreta GerwigFollowing the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy fights through grief and trauma to regain her faith, console her children, and define her husband's historic legacy.Portman was near perfect as Jackie O.
- DirectorGareth EdwardsStarsFelicity JonesDiego LunaAlan TudykIn a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction.Personally I hated The Force Awakens. I honestly think it was one of the worst films I've ever seen out of the roughly 6000+ films I've seen in my life. It seemed to me like Disney and Abrams just took a big dump in a bag, and called it Star Wars. However I thought this was a decent return to the Star Wars saga, a prequel to A New Hope and a worthy one. From what we've seen so far though, it's hard to believe that any Disney Star Wars film will ever even come close to the first 2 classics that made this franchise the phenomenon that it is. 7/10
- DirectorMorten TyldumStarsJennifer LawrenceChris PrattMichael SheenA malfunction in a sleeping pod on a spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet wakes one passenger 90 years early. There's no realism here, but it doesn't try to be that kind of film either, and that's why it will work for some people. If you can take this as a total sci-fi fantasy film, then it works as fun entertainment.
- DirectorRory RooneyStarsJosh BrenerAlexandra DaddarioPaul IaconoA guy decides to sell weed after losing his job, but things soon go out of hand as demand of business and paranoia starts taking over.Contrary to the title, this is actually not a stoner comedy film. Don't think Cheech and Chong or Harold & Kumar, because this is far from those. This is more a funny little story about a short time weed dealer who himself didn't smoke it at all. It's more a coming of age type film than a stoner film really. I think it's rated so low on IMDb probably only because many people went into the film expecting a stoner comedy, and ended up disappointed because it really isn't. I thought it was definitely entertaining and actually had some pretty unique moments here and there. 7/10
- DirectorBen AffleckStarsBen AffleckElle FanningBrendan GleesonA group of Boston-bred gangsters set up shop in balmy Florida during the Prohibition era, facing off against the competition and the Ku Klux Klan. This film didn't capture me the way I had hoped it might. For some reason or another the character and/or film as a whole just isn't as engaging as one would like. Nonetheless I did enjoy the film for the most part, I thought it was good, but it's definitely not a crime classic by any means. 7/10
- DirectorScott DerricksonStarsBenedict CumberbatchChiwetel EjioforRachel McAdamsWhile on a journey of physical and spiritual healing, a brilliant neurosurgeon is drawn into the world of the mystic arts. For me, I felt it was one of the better modern super hero films. Not spectacular entirely, but pretty strong nonetheless.
- DirectorFede AlvarezStarsStephen LangJane LevyDylan MinnetteHoping to walk away with a massive fortune, a trio of thieves break into the house of a blind man who isn't as helpless as he seems. One of the better horror films I've seen in recent years. Most of these kinds of films are garbage these days from my perspective, but this one was definitely well worth the watch. 7/10
- DirectorWayne RobertsStarsChristopher AbbottMary SteenburgenOlivia CookeA kindhearted 17-year-old in the American Southwest turns to prostitution to fulfill her dream of a new life in San Francisco. This starts well and seems like a great realist film. After awhile it becomes much more forced and starts to really feel like a pieced together movie. There are some great moments in the film, and some interesting ideas. Nothing in the film however is as good as the lead performance, which really becomes the main reason to watch.
- DirectorJon LucasScott MooreStarsMila KunisKathryn HahnKristen BellWhen three overworked and under-appreciated moms are pushed beyond their limits, they ditch their conventional responsibilities for a jolt of long overdue freedom, fun and comedic self-indulgence.This film has an amazingly unfocused vision, it's all over the place at times, but I did find it entertaining nonetheless. This simply fails to be little more than a ridiculously silly movie, but it is genuinely funny in many places. It's stuffed with nearly every single relationship cliche you could possibly imagine, and sadly saddled with a very manipulative script often aimed at the man-hating female audience. However there were enough funny and/or decent moments to keep me into it, as I don't take this kind of stuff too, too seriously. In my view Kathryn Hahn is hilarious, and basically steals most of the movie. In a way the writing in this film is sad in an ugly way, but at times it's also laugh out loud funny. So in the end, I recommend a watch if you're not easily offended. 7/10
- DirectorWill SlocombeStarsLyndsy FonsecaMichael DonegerTommy DeweyDesperate for a good story, a sex-addicted journalist throws himself into the world of high-class escorts when he starts following a Stanford-educated prostitute.Never mind the really low rating on IMDb, that's likely only because a bunch of horny people watched this thinking that it would be full of sex and then were disappointed when they found almost none here. Lyndsy Fonseca gives a very strong performance and the two leads have good chemistry. This film is guaranteed to make you laugh as well, that is if you give it a chance. I found the film a little weak in the early stages, but it definitely picks up as it goes. Bruce Campbell also gives a memorable and funny performance. 6.5/10
- DirectorAnna FoersterStarsKate BeckinsaleTheo JamesTobias MenziesVampire death dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale) fights to end the eternal war between the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her.6.5/10
- DirectorTate TaylorStarsEmily BluntHaley BennettRebecca FergusonA divorcee becomes entangled in a missing persons investigation that promises to send shockwaves throughout her life.As far as mystery thrillers go, I felt this was a little bit on the predictable side. It was decent I thought, but not exactly what I'd call good. It needed a little more creativity as far as I'm concerned. For a person who has seen as many films as I have, I prefer a little more from this type of film. 6.5/10
- DirectorJenna RickerStarsGreg StuhrDon StuhrKelsey SiepserFollowing a mysterious suicide at Niagara Falls, a low-rent detective unravels a conspiracy to build a revolutionary invention by enigmatic scientist, Nikola Tesla. Not nearly as bad as it's 4.8 IMDb rating. Update: The rating is climbing! 6.5/10
- DirectorSteven C. MillerStarsBruce WillisChristopher MeloniDave BautistaWhen a bank is hit by a brutal heist, all evidence points to the owner and his high-powered clients. But as a group of FBI agents dig deeper into the case - and the deadly heists continue - it becomes clear that a larger conspiracy is at play.6.5/10
- DirectorMichael BayStarsJohn KrasinskiPablo SchreiberJames Badge DaleDuring an attack on a U.S. compound in Libya, a security team struggles to make sense out of the chaos.Biased in parts as usual, but what else can we expect from an American war film? American bias has almost completely polluted the world it seems. 6.5/10
- DirectorAriel VromenStarsKevin CostnerRyan ReynoldsGal GadotIn a last-ditch effort to stop a diabolical plot, a dead CIA operative's memories, secrets, and skills are implanted into a death-row inmate in hopes that he will complete the operative's mission. If you're just looking for some not too serious entertainment, this is decent. I liked the film, but at the same time, don't expect too much, it's far from great. 6.5/10
- DirectorCourtney HuntStarsKeanu ReevesRenée ZellwegerGugu Mbatha-RawA defense attorney works to get his teenage client acquitted of murdering his wealthy father.6.5/10
- DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsJosh BrolinGeorge ClooneyAlden EhrenreichA Hollywood fixer in the 1950s works to keep the studio's stars in line.I liked the film, but it was nothing too special. Honestly the only Coen brothers film since the turn of the millennium that I feel isn't overrated, is their version of True Grit. Even No Country was overblown in my view. I strongly prefer the 80's and 90's Coen's over their 2000's stuff. Except TG of course, it fits in with the best of their older stuff. The others are bargain bin movies I feel, except also for No Country, which I agree was good, but it's definitely not a great film in my view. 6.5/10
- DirectorKevin HanlonInterview's, re-creations and rare archival material tell the story of Bill Wilson, who battled his way to sobriety and helped others beat their addictions through co-founding Alcoholics Anonymous. A PBS documentary.
- DirectorYeon Sang-hoStarsGong YooJung Yu-miMa Dong-seokWhile a zombie virus breaks out in South Korea, passengers struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan. For the 1st watch at least, there are some tense moments in the film, some good action and suspense. Overall however, this is basically just another very generic and mostly unintelligently written Lifetime movie, but with far superior visuals. I find it tough to believe that so many people enjoyed this film so much. Yikes! It's alright, but it's certainly nothing special overall. 6.5/10
- DirectorDan TrachtenbergStarsJohn GoodmanMary Elizabeth WinsteadJohn Gallagher Jr.A young woman is held in an underground bunker by a man who insists that a hostile event has left the surface of the Earth uninhabitable.A very good film until the ridiculous ending. This film just left me asking how the filmmakers could be so stupid, as to ruin their own film with such a standard, boring and lazy ending. Ugly! Still a very watchable film since about 80% or so of the film is very good, but man, I'm not sure I can remember a film being ruined so badly by it's own ending. Gross! 6/10
- DirectorJ BlakesonStarsChloë Grace MoretzMatthew ZukGabriela LopezFour waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth in ruin. Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. Not as bad as it's current rating on IMDb if you're asking me. You won't be overly blown away by it, no doubt. However I thought it was decent escapist popcorn entertainment. 6/10
- DirectorRobin BainStarsRobin BainGinny JonesJessica Taylor HaidA teenage girl, whose mother is at the end of her career as a sex escort, has to find a way to make money to support them both in Los Angeles.
- DirectorDamien LeoneStarsJenna KanellSamantha ScaffidiDavid Howard ThorntonOn Halloween night, Tara Heyes finds herself as the obsession of a sadistic murderer known as Art the Clown. If you just want a goofy and sadistic Halloween film, you won't do much better than this. 6/10
- DirectorJared HessStarsZach GalifianakisOwen WilsonKristen WiigA guard at an armored car company in the Southern U.S. organizes one of the biggest bank heists in American history. Based on the October 1997 Loomis Fargo robbery. The film is definitely stupid, but it's also really funny on more than a few occasions. 6/10
- DirectorNicolas Winding RefnStarsElle FanningChristina HendricksKeanu ReevesAn aspiring model, Jesse, is new to Los Angeles. However, her beauty and youth, which generate intense fascination and jealousy within the fashion industry, may prove themselves sinister. It reminded me of a Gregg Araki film, or even Harmony Korine, as the pace is a little slow and the film is chalk full of obsession and over indulgence. This is not a bad film, but the story is far from new, and the delivery while somewhat mesmerizing is really nothing all that special. It's a reasonably decent piece of art, but that's about as far as I'd go. I should also mention that Elle Fannng and Keanu Reeves do give interesting and strong performances. 6/10
- DirectorGlenn FicarraJohn RequaStarsTina FeyMargot RobbieMartin FreemanA journalist recounts her wartime coverage in Afghanistan. It sort of worked, but it didn't really work. Worth watching in my view, but go into it without big expectations. 6/10
- DirectorJosh GordonWill SpeckStarsJason BatemanOlivia MunnT.J. MillerWhen his uptight CEO sister threatens to shut down his branch, the branch manager throws an epic Christmas party in order to land a big client and save the day, but the party gets way out of hand...
- DirectorJustin KurzelStarsMichael FassbenderMarion CotillardJeremy IronsCallum Lynch explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha and gains the skills of a Master Assassin, before taking on the secret Templar society. It's an okay film, I wouldn't have even watched this one but for Marion. Anything she's in deserves a look. 6/10
- DirectorBen WheatleyStarsSharlto CopleyBrie LarsonArmie HammerSet in Boston in 1978, a meeting in a deserted warehouse between two gangs turns into a shoot-out and a game of survival. If any one of these characters had practiced shooting at a range even twice in their lives, this film would have been over in 45 minutes, tops. It's not a terrible film, but it certainly is a very pointless one with very little to it. 6/10
- DirectorChris PeckoverStarsOlivia DeJongeLevi MillerEd OxenbouldOn a quiet suburban street, a babysitter must defend a twelve-year-old boy from intruders, only to discover it's far from a normal home invasion.5.5/10
- DirectorHenry JoostAriel SchulmanStarsEmma RobertsDave FrancoEmily MeadeA high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of "watchers."I'm not sure why I'm even giving this film a 5, but it was relevant and interesting at times. Overall though, it's basically crap. Emma Roberts is pretty much always worth watching, so I'll settle with the 5 score. 5/10
