People Known For Telling The Truth, The Truth, And Nothing But The Truth - Always
Honesty is a rare commodity these days, so when we do come across it we should admire and appreciate it. These people couldn't tell a lie if they tried, so perfectly trained are they to be truthful.
I have decided not to include any politicians because everyone already knows that they always speak the truth.
This list will be gradually expanded, because there are so many truth-tellers out there. If you can offer me any suggestions, please do.
COMMENTS: The comments section changes introduced several years ago have basically ruined what used to be a fun interaction between list-maker and reader, hence I will be disabling comments on nearly all of my lists. (I said nearly: you're free to spend an hour perusing my other lists to find one that does allow comments.) So if you want to let me know what you think, PM me.
Oh no, wait. They've disabled PMs. So I guess there is no way you can share your views of my lists and reviews with me. That's called "progress".

Michael Francis Moore was born in Flint, Michigan on April 23, 1954, and was raised in its Davison suburb. He is the son of Helen Veronica (Wall), a secretary, and Francis Richard Moore, who worked on an auto assembly line. He has Irish, as well as English and Scottish, ancestry.
Moore studied journalism at the University of Michigan-Flint, and also pursued other hobbies such as gun shooting, for which he even won a competition. Michael began his journalistic career writing for the school newspaper "The Michigan Times," and after dropping out of college briefly worked as editor for "Mother Jones."
He then turned to filmmaking, and to earn the money for the budget of his first film Roger & Me (1989) he ran neighborhood bingo games. The success of this film launched his career as one of America's best-known and most controversial documentarians. He has produced a string of documentary films and TV series predominantly about the same subject: attacks on corrupt politicians and greedy business corporations. He landed his first big hit with Bowling for Columbine (2002) about the bad points of the right to bear arms in America, which earned him an Oscar and a big reputation. He then shook the world with his even bigger hit Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004), making fun of President George W. Bush. This is the highest-grossing documentary of all time. Michael is known for having the guts to give his opinion in public, which not many people are courageous enough to do, and for that is respected by many.- Actor

Armstrong was raised alone by his mother. Even as a child and teenager, he invested a lot of time in cycling. At the age of 13, Armstrong achieved his first victories in cycling races and other sports. In 1984 he won the youth triathlon championship. Three years later he practiced triathlon as a professional athlete. This was followed by qualification for training with the Olympic team. In 1992, Armstrong made his debut as a professional cyclist at the race in San Sebastian, Spain. Armstrong drove in the "Motorola" team from 1992 to 1996 and in the "Cofidis" team in 1997. With toughness, ambition and endurance, Lance Armstrong cycled his way to the top of the world in the 1990s. In 1996 he was considered number one on the world cycling rankings. In October 1996, Armstrong's doctors diagnosed him with testicular cancer. In addition, metastases were found in the lungs and brain. Now not only was the exceptional athlete's promising career at stake, but also his survival. It is probably thanks to Armstrong's iron will that he was able to successfully fight cancer. In order to survive and be cured, he endured the most aggressive chemotherapy.
This was successfully carried out on him. The athlete began cycling again after just five months, in May 1998. Armstrong not only emerged from this serious phase of illness healed, but also stronger. He prepared for his comeback in major professional cycling racing by taking part in smaller races. His greatest success after recovering from cancer was his first victory in the "Tour de France" on July 25, 1999. Since then, he has distinguished himself as the most successful performer and boss in the "US Postal" team. Armstrong's rounded light-footedness and his stretched position out of the saddle were characteristic of his riding style. Coming to terms with the illness was not only reflected in Armstrong's changed awareness of life and sport, but also in the founding of the "Lance Armstrong Foundation". The foundation is dedicated to supporting children with cancer. The athlete also launched the "Ride for the Roses" sponsored race. In 2000 he won bronze in the Olympic individual road time trial. In the following years, Lance Armstrong became the most successful professional cyclist of all time with another six victories in the overall ranking of the "Tour de France" in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
In 2003 he was named World Athlete of the Year. In 2004 he won the "Tour de Georgia". In 2004 he designed the Livestrong bracelet. The bracelet was part of the "Wear Yellow and live strong" campaign, which aims to support cancer patients and cancer survivors. In collaboration with Nike, approximately $70 million was raised for the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF). In 2009 he came third in the Tour de France. In 2010, Lance Armstrong finished the 97th Tour de France in 23rd place overall. In May 2010 he was awarded the "Laureus World Sports Award" for the second time, after 2000. In October 2012, Lance Armstrong was retroactively stripped of all his titles since August 1, 1998 and given a lifelong ban by the UCI (World Cycling Federation). He was accused of long-term, systematic doping abuse, which he confessed to in January 2013. With his first wife, Kristin Richard, he had a son and two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce in 2004. Another daughter and another son were born from his relationship with Anna Hansen in 2009 and 2010.- Steven Frayne aka Dynamo emerged into the UK's magic scene in 2004 after moving to London to pursue the creation of the first ever magic 'mixtape'. Stephen Tyrone Colbert (pronounced "cole-BEAR") was born on May 13, 1964 in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. He is the son of Lorna Elizabeth (Tuck) and James William Colbert, Jr., a doctor and medical school dean at Yale, Saint Louis University, and MUSC. He is the youngest of eleven children, and is of Irish Catholic background.
Stephen studied acting at Northwestern and performed with the Second City comedy troupe in Chicago before teaming up with fellow cast members Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello to create the sketch comedy Exit 57 (1995) for Comedy Central. During its two-season run in the mid-1990s, it garnered five CableACE nominations for best writing, performing, and comedy series. After the demise of Exit 57 (1995) from 1997 (until his departure in October 2005), Stephen was a correspondent on The Daily Show (1996), then hosted by Craig Kilborn. Initially billed as "The New Guy," Stephen became the show's longest-running correspondent before getting his own show, The Colbert Report (2005), which has done well in its slot following The Daily Show (1996).
At the time he left The Daily Show (1996), Stephen had been its longest-running and most diverse correspondent. In addition to his role as Senior Political Correspondent, he was one of the hosts of "Even Stepheven," a point-counterpoint assault featuring co-correspondent Steve Carell, and the host of "This Week in God," a recurring segment in which he reported on all things theological with the assistance of the "God Machine."
Stephen helped The Daily Show (1996) win numerous Emmy and Peabody Awards and contributed to "America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction" (Warner Books) which immediately topped the New York Times bestseller list and stayed there for 15 consecutive weeks.
His personality, intelligence, and leftist political satire could only have led him to The Colbert Report (2005), a half-hour nightly platform for him to give his tongue-in-cheek take on the issues of the day, and more importantly, to tell you why he thinks everyone else's take is just plain wrong.
His other notable credits include serving as both writer and cast member on The Dana Carvey Show (1996), writing for Saturday Night Live (1975), and providing the voice of Ace in Robert Smigel's "Ambiguously Gay Duo," which originated on The Dana Carvey Show (1996) and was a semi-regular feature in Smigel's "TV Funhouse" segment on SNL. He was also featured on "Mr. Goodwrench" commercials (2003-2005).

Bill Maher was born William Maher in New York City, New York, and grew up in River Vale, New Jersey. His father, William Aloysius Maher Jr., who was of Irish Catholic descent, was a radio announcer and news editor. His mother, Julie (Berman), was a nurse, who was of Jewish descent. Maher was raised in his father's Catholic faith. While attending Cornell University, he decided to try stand-up comedy. His first stand-up routine was in a Chinese restaurant on Route 17 in Paramus, New Jersey. He soon landed a regular gig at Catch a Rising Star in New York City. After a few years, he became a regular host at the club and was spotted by a scout for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962). Maher made numerous appearances on the show, and Carson had been a hero of his since childhood, but he always felt constrained by the rules of network television. During this time, he appeared in films and made guest appearances on numerous sitcoms.
In 1993, Maher was offered his own talk show by Comedy Central. Maher developed the show as a round table discussion on current events. Politically Incorrect (1993) premiered to critical acclaim and attracted major celebrities as well as politicians and pundits. In 1997, the show moved to ABC where it aired to continued success. On September 17, 2001, Maher made controversial comments regarding the terrorists who orchestrated the September 11 attack on the US. Sponsors pulled their ads and affiliates refused to air the show. ABC canceled the show in 2002, citing "low ratings". Maher had been nominated for 11 Emmys for his work on the show. In 2003, he was able to continue his television work with a similar program on HBO titled Real Time with Bill Maher (2003). He remains single and lives in Los Angeles.- Actor
