Festival de Cannes Official Selection 1946-2015 In Competition - Feature Films
LA PALME DORT
• April 13, 2015 - a month before Cannes Festival opening, I make this a private list to a public list, despite few corrections that still to do, and the writing of a better introduction text, hoping it's clear enough without.
But meanwhile, know that the descriptions contain an exact and strict copy-paste* of informations as they were displayed and according to Cannes website^ in April 2014. The link to tab archives/2000^ in French language.
*including errors (voluntarily) and titles who obviously shouldn't be listed (intentionally also).
◦ Only four titles were not found on IMDb, less the one I found recently but not yet added, they are mentioned in the previous film's description. There is sometimes two entries for one film, like for Che by Soderbergh #1508 or for a film with a title who can be mistaken with another #350^. And short films, one almost sure, maybe three.
Because of several errors on Cannes' database, who were certainly reproduced/repeating by other media, I don't know yet nor decide how I will proceed to integrate at best all that. The initial intention I had has evolved and, give to the titled of list an extension like: …Almost All And Even Some Who Weren't, would be more appropriate.
◦ The related list of Filmmakers^ is worst, and if all names have been already added, it's a work in progress without the essential: the filmography in description with all the complementary info collected to make the both lists really makes sense.
◦ At last, to find more quickly something you looking for, remember the link Export this list at the bottom of the page (.csv file**), the IMDb's search page, you can try it with Ken Loach^, and the Ctrl+F, or equivalent, of your browser can be useful. RSS also in this case with certain configurations.
**if your spreadsheet displays unexpected characters, used a .txt / text logiciel (for example, the one called in French, "Bloc-notes") to open it with. Then select the entire text, copy and paste after clicking the cell of your choice, all should be clean. If you know basic functions this is not hard to extract, but, even if you don't, to make a search on that unique column is a quick way to find something on the entire of a list (including in descriptions).
• April 14. Weird: an external link is correctly displayed when I use my browser as an IMDb's user, but not when I test this list on another, as an unregistered visitor. So, I added a ^ at the end of link's name to visualise that.
Here, I write the entire URL without link for: http://www.festival-cannes.com (Cannes' website, in several languages, but not for all entries or pages) and the most important, http://www.festival-cannes.com/fr/archives/2000/inCompetition.html (contain the data I've compiled for year 2000 Festival).
