XXI: My favorite Russian movies
I very much love the Russian cinema. In the 90s, when there was a mess in the country, I was very worried about what will happen to Russian movie in the future? But, it turned out, in vain. Russian culture has won timelessness. In 85% of the list presented auteur films or indie movie. Best Comedy - "Election Day" and "Kiss Them All!"; Best Action - " To Live!" and " Alien Girl"; Best Horror - "Junk" and "Julenka"; Best Cartoon - "My Love" and "Alyosha Popovich and Tugarin Zmey". The list includes films of 33 directors. 4 film by Aleksey Balabanov, 3 film by Aleksandr Sokurov and Kiriil Serebrennikov, 2 film by Andrey Zvyagintsev, Mikhail Segal, Pavel Lungin, Aleksey Mizgirev, Aleksey Uchitel, Aleksey Popogrebsky, Vasily Sigarev and Anna Melikyan.
The most successful for Russian cinema was in 2007, 7 films in the list. On 5 films were made in 2011 and 2014, 4 of the film - in 2010 and 2012, 3 the film - in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2009, 2 of the film - in 2000, 2002, 2013, 2015 and 2016 , 1 film - in 2001, 2004 and 2008.
