- DirectorAdam McKayStarsChristian BaleSteve CarellRyan GoslingIn 2006-2007 a group of investors bet against the United States mortgage market. In their research, they discover how flawed and corrupt the market is.Based on Michael Lewis’ best-selling book of the same name. I kept hearing the rave reviews for this but was reluctant due to the dry subject matter. I'm not what you might call a financial guru. Nonetheless I gave it a shot, and was blown away. The writing, the pacing, the performances were outstanding. The best parts however, were the handful of random celebrity cameos by Margot Robbie (drinking champagne in a bubble bath), chef Anthony Bourdain, and a poker-playing Selena Gomez. In brilliant fashion, the filmmakers used these celebrities to humorously explain the dreadfully bewildering 2008 sub-prime mortgage collapse in simplified fashion. A must see!
- DirectorCary Joji FukunagaStarsAbraham AttahEmmanuel AffadziRicky AdelayitorA drama based on the experiences of Agu, a child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed African country.A drama based on the experiences of Agu (played by the phenomenal Abraham Attah), a child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed African country. Idris Elba also gives a fantastic performance as both warlord and Agu's captor/mentor.
- DirectorDamien ChazelleStarsMiles TellerJ.K. SimmonsMelissa BenoistA promising young drummer enrolls at a cut-throat music conservatory where his dreams of greatness are mentored by an instructor who will stop at nothing to realize a student's potential. An outstanding performance by J.K. Simmons, and Miles Teller's best performance that I'm aware of. I'm not the world's greatest jazz fan but that didn't matter here.
- DirectorBennett MillerStarsSteve CarellChanning TatumMark RuffaloU.S. Olympic wrestling champions and brothers Mark Schultz and Dave Schultz join "Team Foxcatcher", led by eccentric multi-millionaire John du Pont, as they train for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, but John's self-destructive behavior threatens to consume them all.Highly recommended. Outstanding job by Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum. You don't have to be a sports or wrestling fan to appreciate it.
- DirectorTom McCarthyStarsMark RuffaloMichael KeatonRachel McAdamsThe true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.Based on a series of stories by The Boston Globe's "Spotlight" investigative team that earned them the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
- DirectorSean DurkinStarsElizabeth OlsenSarah PaulsonJohn HawkesHaunted by painful memories and increasing paranoia, a damaged woman struggles to re-assimilate with her family after fleeing an abusive cult.Unsettling and dare I say mood-driven? I liked the controversial ending. It leaves some room for interpretation and doesn't pander to the audience's need for closure. Oh and Elizabeth Olsen is *sigh* so dreamy.
- DirectorColin TrevorrowStarsAubrey PlazaMark DuplassJake JohnsonThree magazine employees head out on an assignment to interview a guy who placed a classified advertisement seeking a companion for time travel.I feel as if you either like Aubrey Plaza or you don't and if you don't we cannot be friends
- DirectorJonathan GlazerStarsScarlett JohanssonJeremy McWilliamsLynsey Taylor MackayA mysterious young woman seduces lonely men in the evening hours in Scotland. However, events lead her to begin a process of self-discovery.A creepy but intriguing film that ask, 'What if Scarlett Johansson were an alien posing as a human who feeds on human males?' I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!!!
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.Yeah I would've seen this with or without Elizabeth Olsen in it, but she was certainly a contributing factor.
- DirectorJustin LinStarsChris PineZachary QuintoKarl UrbanThe crew of the USS Enterprise explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy, who puts them, and everything the Federation stands for, to the test.Highly enjoyable..on par first the first film and helps make up for some of the missteps of Into Darkness

- DirectorMorten TyldumStarsJennifer LawrenceChris PrattMichael SheenA malfunction in a sleeping pod on a spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet wakes one passenger 90 years early.

Around 1860 the aunt decides they move to Paris and that her son and Thérèse get married. The joy- and loveless life changes when her husband brings a friend home. The affair turns ugly for all.Scarlet Witch and Apocalypse..enough said. Also Draco Malfoy and the wonderful Jessica Lange.
- DirectorJohn LaingStarsDominic PurcellPeter FeeneyOwen BlackIn 1989 the trimaran Rose Noelle set sail from Picton, New Zealand, bound for Tonga with four crew. After a freak wave capsized the yacht, they drifted for 119 days before landing on Great Barrier Island.Solid effort about the true story of four New Zealand men who drifted for 119 days after their boat capsized in rough weather.
- DirectorNaomi FonerStarsDakota FanningElizabeth OlsenSterling JonesTwo New York City girls make a pact to lose their virginity during their first summer out of high school. When they both fall for the same street artist, the friends find their connection tested for the first time.I'm not even going to lie. If you haven't figured it out yet, I just rented this for Lizzie Olsen, and she's really the best thing in this, though I may be biased.
- DirectorPaiman KalayehJohn Lyons MurphyStarsSelma BlairEdward BurnsBruce CampbellChronicling first-time filmmaker Daniel Gillies' struggle to finance his independent feature film, Broken Kingdom, and featuring other filmmakers' stories of their own adventures in indie cinema. The struggles actor Daniel Gillies faced in financing and creating his first independent film. Includes interviews with other independent filmmakers and actors as well. Highly recommended.
- DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsLeonardo DiCaprioTom HardyWill PoulterA frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.A very moving adaptation of the Michael Punke novel, which dramatizes the true tale of frontierman
Hugh Glass. - DirectorDavid AyerStarsWill SmithJared LetoMargot RobbieA secret government agency recruits some of the most dangerous incarcerated super-villains to form a defensive task force. Their first mission: save the world from the apocalypse.
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckHenry CavillAmy AdamsBatman is manipulated by Lex Luthor to fear Superman. Superman´s existence is meanwhile dividing the world and he is framed for murder during an international crisis. The heroes clash and force the neutral Wonder Woman to reemerge.I didn't feel this was as bad as the critics treated it, though it was not without flaws. It could've spared us the lengthy origin story for Batman, which all we've seen before.
- DirectorAntoine FuquaStarsDenzel WashingtonMarton CsokasChloë Grace MoretzA man who believes he has put his mysterious past behind him cannot stand idly by when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters.A good tribute to the classic 80's tv crime series.
- DirectorDan TrachtenbergStarsJohn GoodmanMary Elizabeth WinsteadJohn Gallagher Jr.A young woman is held in an underground bunker by a man who insists that a hostile event has left the surface of the Earth uninhabitable. An engaging suspense film with a rather well-executed twist at the end.
- DirectorChris KentisLaura LauStarsElizabeth OlsenAdam TreseEric Sheffer StevensA girl is trapped inside her family's lakeside retreat and becomes unable to contact the outside world as supernatural forces haunt the house with mysterious energy and consequences.Filmed to appear as one long take, although there were actually couple of subtle cuts here and there.
- DirectorStephanie SoechtigStarsMichele SimonKatie CouricBill ClintonAn examination of America's obesity epidemic and the food industry's role in aggravating it.Very important documentary about the childhood obesity epidemic and how corporations govern our food.
- DirectorAndrew StantonAngus MacLaneStarsEllen DeGeneresAlbert BrooksEd O'NeillFriendly but forgetful blue tang Dory begins a search for her long-lost parents and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.A fitting followup to Finding Nemo
- DirectorWilliam H. MacyStarsBilly CrudupAnton YelchinFelicity HuffmanA grieving father in a downward spiral stumbles across a box of his recently deceased son's demo tapes and lyrics. Shocked by the discovery of this unknown talent, he forms a band in the hope of finding some catharsis.William H. Macy's directorial-debut. Definitely worth watching. I found 'the twist' a little less than convincing. I even played back the beginning for clues but didn't really find any that satisfied me. Nonetheless, an enjoyable film.
