- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsHenry FondaCharles BronsonClaudia CardinaleA mysterious stranger with a harmonica joins forces with a notorious desperado to protect a beautiful widow from a ruthless assassin working for the railroad.Sergio Leone was not just a visionary but he was a director that showed the industry that a western could still be a god movie and his grand masterpiece Once Upon a Time in the West proved that point, it is the type of film that no other director could make again and also a film that has stood the test of time. the film was brilliantly written by by Sergio Leone and Sergio Donati, with a hard hitting story By the then young Dario Argento and Sergio Leone. The operatic score by Ennio Morriconne is nothing but mesmerizing and memorable with one of the best climaxes in cinema history. Charles Bronson to me was at his best and his performance was excellent an unforgettable on this film. the thing that makes a good western to me is its villain and Henry Fonda was a tour de force as the murderous outlaw Frank, I love Henry Fonda very much and I have always considered this film to be the best one of his entire career. Claudia Cardinal's performance is wonderful to me because she conveys many emotional feelings that are honest and wonderfully realistic and that is a very hard thing to accomplish in film and she does it perfectly and honestly. In the end Sergio Leone made a film that is unique and incredibly powerful and it shows Leones incredible vision and talent as one of cinemas best directors.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsClint EastwoodEli WallachLee Van CleefA bounty hunting scam joins two men in an uneasy alliance against a third in a race to find a fortune in gold buried in a remote cemetery.there are many Italian westerns but the good the bad and the ugly is to me the best of the genre the film was brilliantly casted with Clint Eastwood returning for one last time as the man with no name which was his role that made him a legend, and also has lee van Cleef as a different character named angel eyes who is sinister and one of his best roles of his career, With also Eli Wallach as Tuco who is absolutely wonderful in the role. Out of the entire Dollars trilogy this one is Sergio's Finest films to me because the story is so well written and directed brilliantly by Sergio Leone who in my unbiased opinion is one of the most brilliant directors of all time.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsClint EastwoodGian Maria VolontèMarianne KochA wandering gunfighter plays two rival families against each other in a town torn apart by greed, pride, and revenge.Sergio Leone was a director who was innovative and creative he was a director who was intelligent and he new what kind of film he wanted to make and A fistful of Dollars was his entrance to an industry he adored and loved. Clint Eastwood in A Fistful of dollars was brilliant and Established his western hero Persona that he would play for decades. A fistful of Dollars is gritty' brash and different from any western I saw before this one and will always be one of my favorite westerns of all time, and in my opinion Sergio Leone in my opinion revived the western and the way they were made to the western and when I comes to the western genre the Italian western in my opinion showed the gritty feeling that was missing from the genre.
- DirectorSam PeckinpahStarsWilliam HoldenErnest BorgnineRobert RyanAn aging group of outlaws look for one last big score as the "traditional" American West is disappearing around them.Out of every western I have ever seen the Wild bunch is one of the most masterfully made westerns in history, Sam Peckinpah was a brilliant director who gave us a different kind of western that was violent and brutal but he did not glorify the violence in the film but he showed the tragic aftermath that it causes, I also love the story about a band of outlaws and how they realize how there way of life is coming to a close but it not just about that but it is also a story of trust and loyalty to one another. Like the films story the film has one of the best ensemble cast period With stars like William Holden., Ernest Borgnine, Ben Johnson, Warren Oates, Edmond o' Brian, Robert Ryan and Jaime Sanchez, each member of the cast deliver incredible performances that are unforgettable and breathtaking but in the end The wild Bunch would be nothing without Sam Peckinpah's brilliant direction and his idea to make a western that was incredibly different at the time that would later become an American classic.
- DirectorClint EastwoodStarsClint EastwoodVerna BloomMarianna HillA gun-fighting stranger comes to the small settlement of Lago and is hired to bring the townsfolk together in an attempt to hold off three outlaws who are on their way.Clint Eastwood has made only a few westerns by the early 70's with films like Two Mules for Sister Sara and Joe Kidd' but in 1973 he stared and directed a film which I think is one of the best westerns of all time High Plains Drifter this is one of my all time favorite westerns because of its mood and its direction by Clint Eastwood who even in his early years of filmmaking Clint Eastwood was A force to be reckoned with even then. High Plains Drifter is a western that is dark' brutal, and is even more chilling and atmospheric with Dee Barton's Haunting and unforgettable musical score. When it comes to the western genre High Plains Drifter is one of my all time favorites.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsRod SteigerJames CoburnRomolo ValliA low-life bandit and an I.R.A. explosives expert rebel against the government and become heroes of the Mexican Revolution.Out of all the Sergio Leone films I have seen he has only had one film that has almost been overlooked and that is his final western masterpiece Duck You Sucker also known as a Fistful of Dynamite, and in France its is titled Once upon a time The Revolution which I think is A much better title. Sergio Leone's direction is fantastic and he gave the film a unique and much different style than his previous films. Rod Stieger gave a brilliant performance, as the Spanish bandit and James Coburn is wonderful as the irish drifter the thing that makes both characters so memorable and unique is that there characters develop more like real human being than in Leone's more stylized vision of the west like In A fistful of dollars.Duck you Sucker by Sergio Leone is gritty and dramatic western that shows how Sergio Leone matured as His career went on and how he Became one of cinemas most influential directors.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsClint EastwoodLee Van CleefGian Maria VolontèTwo bounty hunters with the same intentions team up to track down a gang of outlaws led by a psychotic Mexican bandit, who is plotting an audacious bank robbery. There have been many sequels throughout cinemas history but For a few Dollars more is one of the best, because most sequels are just poorly written but this film did not fall victim to bad writing or a bad cast with Clint Eastwood reprising his role from a fistful of dollars and Gian Maria Volonte who was also in the same film But the most recognizable actor in the film in my opinion was Lee van Cleef as Colonel Douglas Mortimer Which made him a national star of the Italian western. When it comes to making a film better than the last nobody did it like Sergio Leone
- DirectorSergio SollimaStarsLee Van CleefTomas MilianWalter BarnesAn unofficial lawman and would-be senator is tasked by a railroad baron with hunting down a knife-wielding Mexican peasant accused of raping and killing a young girl. There are many wonderful Italian westerns but one of my favorite Italian westerns are the Zapata western Which is A sub genre of the western This film starts like a regular run of the mills Italian western but as the film progresses the story and the characters develop in a wonderfully mature way in my opinion because of Sergio Sollima's wonderful direction. Lee Van Cleef gives a rough and gritty performance as the relentless bounty hunter who is tasked with hunting down an outlaw played by Thomas Millian who is Accused of raping and killing a 12 year old girl. Thomas Millian gives a wonderful performance Thomas Millian and Lee Van Cleef make a good pair in the film and in my opinion the big Gundown is one of the most underrated Italian westerns ever made.
- DirectorSergio CorbucciStarsFranco NeroJosé CanalejasJosé BódaloA coffin-dragging gunslinger and a prostitute become embroiled in a bitter feud between a Klan of Southern racists and a band of Mexican Revolutionaries.Sergio Carbucci like Sergio Leone was also an iconic figure in the Italian western genre and Django To me is a masterpiece of the genre. this film is considered a masterpiece and also controversial for its violence and brutality and it was also an important film for Franco Nero who people in America might know him from Die Hard 2 and it was in my opinion the film that made him a important figure of the Italian western his Performance as Django was wonderful and he is the only person I could see as Django, and was the inspiration for the film Django Unchained and the many Unofficial Sequels that were made a the time, but the most important thing about this film to me is how it has stood the test of time and how it is still considered a classic film.
- DirectorGianfranco ParoliniStarsLee Van CleefWilliam BergerIgnazio SpallaA master gunfighter sides with a banjo-playing drifter and a Mexican tramp to foil the dignitaries of Daugherty, who want to use stolen army money to buy land that the railroad will cross.Sabata is not the average Italian western but almost a parody of the genre the film has a strange tone for a western but the strange tone gave the film charm and originality Lee Van Cleef is excellent as Sabata who is like the james bond of the west, and William Berger's character Banjo has a strong presence whenever he is on screen. Sabata is an iconic and an excellent western in my opinion and it is one of the best of its genre.
- DirectorGiancarlo SantiStarsLee Van CleefAlberto DenticeJess HahnA grizzled ex-sheriff helps a man framed for murder to confront the powerful trio of brothers who want him dead. This western is one of the rare film that have an excellent story and 'its has some good plot twist, lee Van clef gives an excellent performance as the ex grizzled sheriff. There are a lot of things I love about this film but my favorite thing about this movie is how it is more of a crime film than a western both genres come together perfectly and the direction is excellent by Giancarlo Santi who has also worked with Sergio Leone The grand duel is an amazing western that is one of my many favorite westerns that I consider to be a classic film.
- DirectorEnzo G. CastellariStarsFranco NeroWilliam BergerOlga KarlatosAn ex-Union gunfighter attempts to protect his plague-ridden hometown from being overridden by his racist half-brothers and a Confederate tyrant. There are many things I could say about this film like how it is sometimes strange film and also has its surreal moments but that would only be a few things I would say, but the best way I can say is how this is a masterpiece of the Italian western genre with brilliant direction by Enzo G castellari who gave the film its strange yet brilliant touches that made this film a masterfully made film. In my opinion the film would not be as good as it is without is brilliant cast members like Franco Nero who by the time he made this film was an Italian superstar and in my opinion a legend who was in the original Django 1967, and the companeros from 1972, the film also stars William Berger and woody strode who give very serviceable performances. Keoma is one of my favorite westerns for these reasons and it is a strange yet powerful film that when you finish watching it you wont forget it.
- DirectorRichard BrooksStarsBurt LancasterLee MarvinRobert RyanAn arrogant Texas millionaire hires four adventurers to rescue his kidnapped wife from a notorious Mexican bandit. When it comes to the American western there are many great ones but when I think of one in particular this films is one I come up with as one of the best westerns ever made, because when you think of a great ensemble cast the Professionals has in my opinion one of the finest With great acting legends like Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Robert Ryan, Woody Strode, Ralph Bellamy, Claudia Cardinale, And Jack Palance. the thing I love about this film is how it is about the characters but at the same time it is a story of adventure and each cast member shines throughout the film But in my opinion it is Oscar winner Lee Marvin And Burt Lancaster that deliver the most memorable performances in the film because the quiet moments you see between the characters in the film those moments in the film are what make the film strong and powerful and one of my all time favorite westerns.
- DirectorJohn FarrowStarsJohn WayneGeraldine PageWard BondArmy dispatch rider Hondo Lane discovers a woman and young son living in the midst of warring Apaches and becomes their protector.John Wayne has Made many classic western film But one of my all time favorites has to be Hondo It was Directed wonderfully by John Farrow with some scenes even directed by john Ford. Hondo's Story is touching rugged and simple those quality's to me are what make this film one of John Wayne's most memorable westerns of the 1950s. Hondo has a wonderful supporting cast with unforgettable appearance's with actors like Ward Bond who was also the star of the western television series Wagon Train' and a appearance by James Arness who would later star as the legendary Television western hero Marshal Dillon. who both give memorable performances. Hondo is made even better with James Edward Grants writing which to me is excellent and nothing short of perfect for John Wayne and I could not think of anybody better to speak the dialogue except for John Wayne. Hondo is a touching yet rugged and a simple story and those are the quality's that to me make the film unforgettable and one of Wayne's best westerns.

- DirectorPaul WendkosStarsGeorge KennedyJames WhitmoreMonte MarkhamGunslinger Chris Adams is hired by a Mexican revolutionary to organize the rescue of his cause's leader from a brutal Army prison. When it come to the Magnificent seven franchise out of all its sequels this one is the best sequel of the franchise because unlike the second the third one is not just a rehash of the first one. This film has great writing and a good story, with also a great ensemble cast like George kennedy in the lead as Chris, James whitmore in the role of levi, Reni Santoni who played the role of max and the Famous Fernando Ray who was in films like the French connection and the companeros The Guns of the Magnificent seven might not be the best western but it is to me it is a good one.
