Dixie gets the lead, but things start going wrong when dizzy Dixie, spurred on by the fired Director Buelow, thinks that she is better than the picture or the studio and starts to make demands. Interesting note: Good look at early Hollywood, with cameos by Loretta Young, Walter Pigeon, Noah Beery and a young Noah Beery, Jr. make the film fun to watch.

El Malo pushes her dancing partner aside and finishes the dance with Carmita. Since Seth's description of him is inaccurate, "El May" visits the sheriff and promises to deliver the wanted bandit to the cantina the following night. The next morning, El Malo and Pedro depart and, halting their horses on a hill, they view the stagecoach being held up by a trio of outlaws. They follow the outlaws to their hideout, where they discover the leader is the trusted town-mayor Seth. El Malo tells him to be in the cantina that night. Then things get involved, including the wrath of the displaced tango partner. El Malo handles it all without breaking a sweat.

When Jack tells his equally-wealthy friend Michael Cummins that he will marry that mystery woman, Upon learning that that woman is Lu Lu Carroll, whom he has also been trying to court, Michael bets Jack $50,000 that he can't give up all his money and get engaged to her within two weeks. Jack accepts the bet as Mike strips him of his money. Jack must try to meet and woo her without doing anything with her that requires money, while trying to hide the fact that he has no money as he tries to earn some using his limited job skills. Meanwhile, Michael hires American detectives Simon Johanssen and Peter Swanson to tail Jack to ensure that he keeps to the rules of the bet, but also to thwart Jack's every attempt with Lu Lu. Michael is unaware that these two are poor schmucks who are rather inept at being detectives. The combination of all their issues gets the collective into one misadventure after another as the fortnight wears on.
