- DirectorBradley CooperStarsLady GagaBradley CooperSam ElliottA musician helps a young singer find fame as age and alcoholism send his own career into a downward spiral.Amazing music drama starring, directed by, and co-written by Bradley Cooper; and follows famous country musician Jackson Maine, who battles with alcohol and drug addiction stemming from a troubled childhood. When it seems that he has passed the prime of his career, he discovers a talented young singer named Ally in a drag bar after one of his shows, and falls in love with everything about her. Believing in her abilities and talent to become a star, he brings her up on stage at one of his shows, and literally makes her a YouTube sensation overnight, which blossoms into a loving marriage and working relationship. Trouble enters the picture when Ally starts gaining incredible fame, the direction of her solo music changes, and Jack gets back in his old pattern with alcohol and drugs. Amazing acting and writing overall. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga both delivered amazing lead performances. Every scene they are in together is electrifying. Lady Gaga was the big surprise for me. She has enough talent to become a huge actress. Sam Elliott, Andrew Dice Clay, Dave Chappelle, Rafi Gavron, Anthony Ramos, Barry Shabaka Henley, and many others had great roles among a fantastic supporting cast.
- DirectorDavid LeitchStarsRyan ReynoldsJosh BrolinMorena BaccarinFoul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool) assembles a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy with abilities from the brutal, time-traveling cyborg Cable.Deadpool became my favorite superhero with the first film in 2016. I'd have to say I like the second film just as much. The story is superb and a nice change-up stylistically from the first film. This time we follow Wade Wilson struggling to cope with life after Vanessa was shot and killed when one of his enemies was aiming at him. Broken and depressed, Wade grudgingly joins the X-Men to help an angry and unhinged young boy named Firefist they discovered at the Mutant Reeducation Center; after they find he's being hunted by a ruthless time-travelling cyborg named Cable. Just like the first film, Ryan Reynolds delivers one of his all-time greatest lead performances (and is also credited as a writer on the film). Morena Baccarin was great again as Vanessa. Josh Brolin was fantastic as Cable. Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, Stefan Kapicic, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, Shioli Kutsuna, Rob Delaney, Lewis Tan, Bill Skarsgård, Terry Crews, and others had excellent supporting roles.
- DirectorJonah HillStarsSunny SuljicKatherine WaterstonLucas HedgesFollows Stevie, a thirteen-year-old in 1990s-era Los Angeles who spends his summer navigating between his troubled home life and a group of new friends that he meets at a Motor Avenue skate shop.Fantastic coming-of-age drama, and the first film to be directed and written by Jonah Hill. Great throwback story about am eccentric 13-year-old boy named Stevie with a troubled home life who finds happiness when he makes friends with a group of older skateboarders who take him under their wing. As he learns fast lessons with alcohol, weed, and girls, the lifestyle starts to consume his life as he rebels against his mother and older brother. I thought this a great glimpse into the 90s era, which really brought back nostalgic memories of hanging out with your best friends at the impressional age of 13. Great writing and acting all around. Sunny Suljic delivered an outstanding lead performance. He has a bright future with level of acting he represented. Na-kel Smith, Olan Prenatt, Lucas Hedges, Gio Galicia, Ryder McLaughlin, Katherine Waterston, Alexa Demie, Fig Camila Abner, and others had great supporting roles.
- DirectorAdam McKayStarsChristian BaleAmy AdamsSteve CarellThe story of Dick Cheney, an unassuming bureaucratic Washington insider, who quietly wielded immense power as Vice President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that are still felt today.Fascinating political biopic about the quiet and reserved Vice President Dick Cheney, and the strategic moves he made to become one of the most powerful American Vice Presidents of all time, while simultaneously changing the climate of power in politics forever. Adam McKay delivered another gem with the unique drama and comedy that we come to expect with his signature style of satire and filmmaking. The writing is top notch as expected. Christian Bale's transformation as Dick Cheney is one of his finest performances of his career—gaining 45 pounds for the role, and rendering him almost unrecognizable as himself on camera. Right down to his direct dialogue and quiet mannerisms, he was excellent in every way. Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Alison Pill, Tyler Perry, Eddie Marsan, Justin Kirk, LisaGay Hamilton, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, and many others had excellent supporting roles.
- DirectorSpike LeeStarsJohn David WashingtonAdam DriverLaura HarrierRon Stallworth, an African American police officer from Colorado Springs, Colorado, successfully infiltrates the local Ku Klux Klan branch aided by a Jewish surrogate who eventually becomes its leader. Based on actual events.Fantastic Spike Lee biopic on the life of a black undercover cop named Ron Stallworth who infiltrates the Colorado Springs branch of the Ku Klux Klan in the early 1970s with the help of his Jewish partner Flip Zimmerman. Superbly written and shot with some hilarious comedy involved with Ron's methods of acquiring information. John David Washington delivered a superb lead performance, and this may be my favorite role from Adam Driver yet. The interaction and dialogue between these two really makes the movie entertaining and impactful throughout. Topher Grace, Jasper Pääkkönen, Michael Buscemi, Laura Harrier, Paul Walter Hauser, Robert John Burke, Ken Garito, Brian Tarantina, Corey Hawkins, Ryan Eggold, Frederick Weller, Damaris Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Alec Baldwin, and many others had great supporting roles.
- DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseHenry CavillVing RhamesEthan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong.Outstanding sequel in the Mission Impossible franchise from Christopher McQuarrie. This is the 6th installment, and it's the best of the first 6 films in my book. This time we follow IMF (Impossible Mission Force) agent Ethan Hunt two years after capturing terrorist Solomon Lane. He ran a menacing organization called "The Syndicate" which has now transformed into an even more dangerous organization called "The Apostles" under a mysterious man named John Lark. Their plan is to steal three three plutonium cores to build world-ending nuclear bombs. Ethan is forced to make near-impossible decisions to complete his mission or save his team members and friends, which heightens danger for the entire world. A mysterious CIA agent named August Walker joining the team just complicates matters as he and the CIA question Ethan's choices. The story was air-tight, the dialogue was the best of the bunch, the stunts were amazing, and the special effects were outstandingly clean. It's simply one of the best action-packed thrillers I've ever seen. Tom Cruise continues to prove he's arguably the world's best action star with another excellent lead performance. Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Sean Harris also had great starring roles. Vanessa Kirby, Michelle Monaghan, Angela Bassett, Alec Baldwin, Wes Bentley, and others also had great supporting roles.

While the odd paring gets off to a rocky start, they eventually find mutual respect for each other as they endure atrocious injustices along the way. Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali both delivered excellent lead performances, and had great chemistry together. Linda Cardellini, Dimiter D. Marinov, Mike Hatton, Sebastian Maniscalco, Frank Vallelonga, and many others had great supporting roles.

Tish is 19-years-old, Fonny is 22, and they are just realizing their intimate love for each other after living their whole lives together as friends, and end up building a beautiful relationship. This results in the police covering up any of their corrupt tracks to make sure his sentence sticks and he stays in prison for a long time. The story is pieced together as Jennifer (Laura Dern) rediscovers a story she wrote in middle school about that summer of love, confusion, and resentment toward her coach Bill and her horse riding instructor, Mrs. G. Now in her 40s, she's able to grasp that it wasn't a relationship she was in control of, and finally accepts that she's been damaged by their horrifying actions throughout her life. Laura Dern delivered her bast most complex lead performance to date. She was excellent throughout. Isabelle Nélisse, Ellen Burstyn, Jason Ritter, Elizabeth Debicki, Common, John Heard, and many others had great supporting roles.

They are all victims of a crack-addicting and troubled mother/home, which has left them in the foster system for several years. Through hard work, understanding, determination, a lot of laughs and great drama; they all make an unlikely connection and battle through challenges that improves all of their lives. Solid story all around with nice great writing and a great cast. Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne both delivered a couple of their best lead performances. Isabela Merced, Gustavo Escobar, and Julianna Gamiz also had great starring roles. Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro, and several others also had great supporting roles.
- DirectorAntoine FuquaStarsDenzel WashingtonPedro PascalAshton SandersRobert McCall serves an unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed, but how far will he go when that is someone he loves?Excellent sequel to Antoine Fuqua's underrated crime thrilling classic from 2014, which presents one of my all-time favorite characters from Denzel Washington. This time we follow retired CIA Black Ops operative Robert McCall falling back into his past life as a vicious crusader as he works as a Lyft driver by day, and vigilante by night. He ends up befriending a young troubled young man named Miles Whittaker and tries to lead him down the right path. Meanwhile, he sets out to investigate the murder of one of his best friends, which brings his revenge story to a head once Miles life is threatened by his enemies. While the story isn't quite as great as the first, the action is top-notch, and Denzel Washington feels even more comfortable with his rough and tough lead performance. It's a fantastic sequel overall. Melissa Leo, Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Orson Bean, Bill Pullman, Jonathan Scarfe, and many others had great supporting roles.

- DirectorClint EastwoodStarsClint EastwoodPatrick L. ReyesCesar De LeónA ninety-year-old horticulturist and Korean War veteran turns drug mule for a Mexican cartel.Excellent crime drama from Clint Eastwood that follows a 90-year-old Korean War veteran and horticulturist who's very much alone since he ignored his family his entire life in favor of his work. Not knowing exactly what the job is, he accepts, and he soon finds out that he's working for the Mexican cartel as a drug mule, and is transporting serious amounts of cocaine. He initially wants it to be a one-time deal, but the money is incredible, and he also wants to make amends with his wife, daughter, and the rest of his family that he's disregarded in his lifetime. As time goes on, things get more dangerous on the cartel side as he gets closer to being caught by DEA agents that are hot on his tail. I didn't have high hopes for Clint Eastwood making a comeback in acting at 88-years-old, but he was certainly sharp enough to deliver his role perfectly, and delivered an excellent lead performance. His direction was also excellent. Bradley Cooper, Dianne Wiest, Alison Eastwood, Andy Garcia, Michael Peña, Laurence Fishburne, Taissa Farmiga, Robert LaSardo, Saul Huezo, and many others also had great supporting roles.

They have kept Wakanda a secret from the outer world due to their discovery of vibranium; which is the strongest metal in the world, and is used to power and run their entire society. T'Challa must face these demons head on while he works with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross, members of the Dora Milaje, and his trusted family and team to defend the future of Wakanda.
