- Llazi Sërbo was an Albanian movie and theater actor and later director. His forty years long activity included around 100 roles. Sërbo was born in the city of Korçë, where he finished the elementary and high school. After high school he worked as a painting teacher in the town of Pogradec. After two years of teaching he attended the Academy of Arts in Tirana, where he profitably studied acting in the following four years.
Sërbo was for the following forty years an actor and director in the Andon Z. Çajupi theatre of Korçë. He also had prominent roles in many movies produced by the Albanian Kinostudio Shqipëria e Re. His first role in theatre was in the Njollat e murrme drama (Translation: The Black Spots). He also acted in many Albanian films. His first role in a movie was in Yjet e Neteve te gjata (Translation: Stars of Long Nights) (1972), where he actually did not pronounce a single word. His first starring role came in the Operacioni Zjarri film (Translation: Operation Fire) (1973), where Sërbo had the role of Kreshnik Martini, a Security agent, infiltrated into an anti-communist band operating in northern Albania in 1953, a scenario taken from a real story. After that movie, Sërbo was one of the victims of the 1973 purges of the 11th Plenum of the Communist Party of Albania, which caused him to disappear from any movies for a full four-year period: during this time he played only on theatre roles. Upon his return to cinematography, he continued to excel in all the roles he played. Memorable is the role of the German Wehrmacht official in the Nusja dhe shtetrrethimi film (Translation: The Bride and the Curfew) (1978).
Sërbo was considered to be a handsome actor and never passed unobserved in his movies, rather his presence was felt. In addition to his good appearance, he was often said by movie directors to be a perfectionist in his approach to acting. In the "Kush vdes në këmbë" movie (Translation: Who dies on his feet) (1984), dedicated to the figure of 19th century patriot and Albanian language teacher, Petro Nini Luarasi, Sërbo refused to show up at the rehearsals and threatened to leave the cast and travel back to his hometown, because he had not been given the right shoes to play his part, that of Ajaz Gjika, a kachak. Sërbo demanded 19th century shoes so that he could fit perfectly in the character. Sërbo also demanded and obtained an excellent horse to play the movie, rather than the one which he had initially been given, because, according to him, "the horse should have a fierce character, similar to that of his master". The horse that ended up playing the movie was, in fact, of an excellent breed, because movie director, Vladimir Prifti, in order to please the actor, found a way to "recruit" the grand-grandchild of Naklon, a horse donated by Joseph Stalin to Albania in the 1950s. The horse had a cost that would today be the equivalent of $2-3 million.
In 1986, one year after Enver Hoxha's death, Sërbo moved to Tirana, where he started to work as an assistant director and had the chance to co-direct a number of movies. He also worked as a director in the theater. Sërbo was critical in the last years with the fact that, according to him, there are more actors than premieres. Sërbo was the author of Kostandine and Doruntine and co-scenarist of the theatrical piece with the Albanian well-known writer Ismail Kadare - Aleksandër Prosi was born on 6 January 1920 in Shkodër, Albania. Samantha is an award-winning short film director, performer and singer/songwriter. She was born in Paris, and later raised in Sydney. Through her filmmaker father she was introduced to cinematic craft from a young age, starting with early experiences as an actor in film and TV. After finishing school at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, she moved to Paris for a gap year before returning to Sydney to embark on a Bachelor of Arts (Theatre & Film) at the University of New South Wales.
She fell pregnant to her first child (Remi) at the age of twenty-one, and took five years to complete this first degree (with Hons). She continued acting and modeling in international advertisements and gaining roles in Australian series drama. She next enrolled in a Masters of Film at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), and also wrote and directed several short films and music videos. She also furthered her director training by working as an assistant to Mark Joffe and later Alex Proyas.
At age thirty she fell pregnant to her second child (Gabe) and was accepted to study at the prestigious Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), for a second Masters Degree (Directing Drama). She graduated from AFTRS in 2006, winning the Australian Film Commission Award for Best Director. She has since won a host of international awards for her many short films and documentaries, most notably the IDFA Silver Cub for BUTTERFLY MAN and the Critics Circle Award for COSETTE (starring Mia Wasikowska).
Samantha was chosen as the Australian representative at the 5Sur5 Artist Residence in Belgium, where she directed her first French language docu-drama. She was head-hunted to direct a series of commercials for McDonalds, and spent several years in the commercial/corporate realm. She was also offered a part-time teaching position at Macquarie University in 2005, and has continued juggling both film and academia, with many semesters taught at the College of Fine Arts (UNSW), NIDA, Metro Screen and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). In 2011 she furthered her academic experience by enrolling as a tutor and Doctorate Candidate at UTS (exploring the use of the hand-held camera and emotional filmmaking).
On a more personal note, back in 2007 Samantha converted to Judaism, and the following year married her childhood sweetheart, musician hit-master Ilan Kidron. In 2010 she was operated on for a life-threatening brain tumor, and embarked on a musical path during convalescence. Together with Ilan they formed the pop duo THE FREAKS IN LOVE, recording and performing live in Australia for several years. In 2012 the family moved to Paris, an artistic sojourn that allowed Samantha to write/direct/perform in her first independent feature film THE LAST GOODBYE.

Michael Hutchence is one of the greatest singers and performers in Australia's history, with a career that spanned 20 years. Born to Kelland Hutchence and Patricia Hutchence (a film and television make-up artist), Michael was the second of three children. He grew up in Hong Kong, USA, and Australia, and often hung out with his mother on film sets, getting to meet many famous people including his former classmate, Nastassja Kinski. When his parents split in 1976, Michael went with his mother to live in America for a while, but finding the fast-paced lifestyle too hectic, he moved back to Australia to live with his father. He attended high school in Sydney, becoming friends with another student, Andrew Farriss. Andrew performed regularly in two bands, Doctor Dolphin and The Farriss Brothers, and at some point invited Michael to sing with them. After graduating, they recruited two more members, Garry Beers and Kirk Pengilly, and immediately started touring pubs as The Farriss Brothers. They were later signed for a record deal on condition that they changed their name to INXS, which was a reflection of their lifestyle, always in excess.
Their first three albums were only minor sellers, but when 'The Swing' was released in 1984, it debuted at number one in Australia, and went double platinum. Their 1987 album 'Kick' had huge radio airplay, brought them an American number one hit ("Need You Tonight") and sold millions of albums worldwide.
However, Michael led a life of constant excess, which included women, drugs and alcohol, and sadly after 'Kick', the band proved to be not as popular as they once had been. Michael attempted a film career, but his first film Dogs in Space (1986) earned an 'R' rating, completely alienating it from teenagers, its intended audience. His second film Frankenstein Unbound (1990) did not showcase his talent either, as he had little more than a walk-on role.
All the while, his personal and professional life was falling apart. He fell in love with and later lived with Bob Geldof's wife, Paula Yates, which tainted his career. They had a daughter together, Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof. In 1997 he met up with Michael Douglas to discuss his songs being used in Face/Off (1997). Hutchence wanted to know from Douglas what steps he should take to further advance himself in the film industry. Douglas advised him, but Michael could not handle the pressure of being a fading rock star, and when his latest album 'Elegantly Wasted' was a flop, Michael took the steps that ended his career. Michael once said that he was "just a man" -- and that is all he ever was.- Actor
